IFRA is the creation of these big corporations. It was created to give these corporations "reasons" to reformulate their products. If these corporations did this on their own, they would be the subject of consumer criticism. But so these corporations have an excuse: IFRA requires us to do this. In this sense, now they use increasingly cheaper substances, more and more diluted weaker perfumes but at higher and higher prices for a higher and higher profit margin.

It’s just business. Start with the good wine and bring out the rotgut later. All manufacturers do it.

Hi Raffi, do you typically apply your fragrances on skin or clothes? I noticed that most fragrances really come to life when applied to skin (because of the skin chemistry I would assume), but I wonder how healthy that is in the long run. Perhaps you first apply some sort of moisturizer before you spray on the fragrance?

Reformulations are getting more common for example bvlgari tygar has been reformulated & smells NOTHING like older batches. I own a 2021 bottle & it's rich & thick I saw someone compare it to an amouage & I know what they mean it was so good before the reformulations. The newer ones are closer to louis vuitton l'immensite which I don't like. It's aquatic now & has lost the richness & the candy grapefruit is now sour. That's just one example. Creed have recently within the last year reformulated ALL if their fragrances & the notes are now completely different on the official creed website to what's on Basenotes, fragrantica ect.

I haven't said goodbye to many bottles but a few that were not replaceable were sad -- Gucci Nobile, Ralph Lauren Romance, Azzarro Pour Homme (before reformulation), Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui (before reformulation). Getting these now would be super expensive. Nice idea for a video, and done in your usual artistic style. I also love that you don't call it a collection -- I totally agree with that take, though wearection isn't my choice of a replacement term--sounds like it refers to something sexual 🙂. Great stuff cheers. I regularly use equipag geranium. Two years ago a Hermes rep told me it’s not discontinued there’s just a scarcity of an ingredient. Still not available today. Killing me I can’t work out what it is. Sometimes you just have to move on.

My bottle from 2018 has the same ingredients number 10950/A as the new bottle I bought a few days ago which is a 2023 batch so I don’t think the smell is different. But performance is lighter on me. Probably just needs to sit a little longer in the collection for the performance to get better 🤔 Edit: atleast it hasn’t been butchered like the new Dior Homme edt and the Dior Homme Parfum 2025. Might happen soon tho 😅

I have L'eau Bleue D'Issey and it smelled like vegetation and pebbles on a river bank to me. I didn't really like it but I might to need to break it out and smell it again haha

I love the elysium Pour Homme but the cologne is so bad. I get about an hour longevity & the Pour homme is so much more smooth & it just smells better. Worth the extra money I think

The only bottle I've emptied in the last 5 years was Dior Homme earlier this year. I have a 2015 and a 2017 bottle left, so I doubt I'll run out but it's a testament to the fact I wear it so often.

Definitely right about aventus, i've smelled some fckboys wearing it and then i've had some well dressed/well groomed classy men wear it and the difference is actually quite big. On the right person it can work really well, I'm a believer that fragrances have to match the person wearing it or that fragrances worn with the right clothes/in the right occasions can work wonders

I bought the first batch circa 1999 ...man it is such a wonderful delightful frag imho, compliment puller and the most important thing is it makes you feel good factor!! and the performance was above average in terms of longevity, sillage and projection ..I regret using up the entire bottle !!! Now what they produce is totally different from the REAL one..smells synthetic, and worst some batch have dry down like a rotten egg (on my skin)

I’d toss half my collection for an Agua Brava as an EDT instead of an EDC that is gone in 20 mins unless your clothes are soaked in it.

It is good you have a backup bottle of L'Eau Bleue D'Issey, as the current formulation has about 20 minutes longevity and does not project further than a full grown yuzu 😢

I didn't know emptying bottles was a thing with fragrance collectors. I sure haven't managed to do so since starting this hobby in 2019 !!

Highly disagree. Love it or not, but in the blue realm, Sauvage EDP is at least two grades above this Roja.

It reminds me lf a modern azzaro acteur. I like it though.
