I noticed that you didn't flush out the power steering systems fluid prior to installing the new Rack, most companies will void the Rack and Pinion warranty if you leave out this procedure. All in all you did a great job of explaining how it is done.
almost all the fluid comes out when you take off the 21 mm bolt, he topped off his power steering fluid reservoir regularly while bleeding the system off camera
Anything g to note or avoid doing, I'm doing my turbo on my 2.2 ctdi atm and need to drop subframe, it'd first time on my own I need to get to cat and downpipe bolts that are not accessible from top as its such a stupidly placed engine
Why do you no show how exactly the drive shaft was takin off an put back on or whats the purpose of the yellow plastic piece as if its not important do you only gotta keep the steering wHeel straight? Or does in not matter how it lines up with the steering rack ??????? its like the most important smallest things yall always leave out lmao
My passanger side wheel is bouncing. Changed everything chasing the problem. At like one wheel only. Bounces and when I let off. I've raised the car and gave it gas and watched the wheels I see it bouncing. I changed everything nothing worked. Now it feels like the other side. And I have OEM parts to the coupe Civic. Many tires many wheel's. All the components. Even used salvage yard stuff just to see if it would fix it for cheap then buy the OEM part if it was .but nope nothing works. Rotors the whole assembly. Brakes, tie rods ball joints . Many balances and alignments. Shocks struts. Camber bolts. More different wheels more tires control arms a few of them .axles a coupe of them. The half shaft I never changed , , the control links I never changed. The rack and pinion I never changed.. the half shaft from engine to the first bearing ,I didn't change. then to the rest of the axle I changed manual transmission from first bearing to the wheel i changed.. and the struts ,shocks. .bushing to them. Anyways. The wheel is bouncing. Hardn motha trucker still.
It took a couple hours. I took longer than I would have due to trying to film as I was doing the repair. I would also recommend having someone to help. Trying to drop and lift the subframe by yourself is a real pain.
How do I find the rack because when I went to order one it showed two that fit mine which is just a year above yours and it showed two with different lengths and different input shaft lengths
@@AChav92 It was holding up when I had the car. I ended up downsizing so I sold the car a little while ago. They do have a limited lifetime warranty on them from NAPA.
I have never done it another way before so I cannot say. If you can fish it out without removing the frame then I would say go for it. I find it easier to remove a few extra things to have more space typically when I work on stuff.

Great Job! I looked at other videos, but this was the best one on how to do it and test it safely. Is the subframe very heavy to lift onto jack?
Its not too heavy, just very awkward. It would definitely help to have another person to guide it as you remove and reinstall.
