Honestly, I think having the front light is like going backward. I want to buy e-reader just because it is like a book and better for the eyes. Front light is as harmful as a smartphone screen and should be replaced by a lamp instead.
Not having a back light is actually one of the reasons I bought it. I want a close to paper experience when writing and reading so this device caught my eye immediately, so I think not having a back light is a feature not a bug for its intended audience. Appreciate the detailed review!
In China, two e-readers with the front light panel removed were released in April this year by Boox and iReader. Compared to the previous version with a front light panel, the background color has become whiter and brighter, the letters have become clearer and darker, and the distance between the pen and the screen has become shorter, making the writing experience better.
No glow light is a massive advantage to me. It gets the thing that much closer to real paper. Not to mention saving up the power. If I want to use it at night I use a little lamp or other non blue light source away from my face. Not only it saves me the eye strain but also brings back soothing memories and relaxation. Which is invaluable for productivity. If I wanted a constant dazzle straight into my face like a harsh interrogation I could always grab the likes of iPad. 😊

Especially for pdf
Few people know that Boox has a black version of this but equipped with a front light, called Note X3 Pro, it is only available in China. I still prefer no front light because in this way the text is noticeably sharper, and the device is incredibly thin, thus becoming the thinnest tablet in the world. I'm surprised that they are very low-key about it, not like reMarkable.
For sure. We mentioned it in the video
Onyx won't let us review it ':(
Commenting for the KOBO contest (but now looking at the video too :))
That is one thin device. but the icons getting hidden behind the screen is maddening.
"No having a glow light nowadays is really no excuse". I think if the light creates a noticeable gap and makes the image less sharp, then there is indeed an excuse not to have it. So, I understand why people judge you to be categorical with the glow light thing.
As always, good review🫰
I'm hoping to finish A Dance With Dragons on the Kobo Let's Goooooo !
It might look thin…. But then the cover is almost as thick as the unit….
Your videos are my go to reference to compare e-readers! And that's how I came to know all different e-readers😅
Hope I win 🤞🏾
Never used a Onyx before. Feels like a good time to invest in it.
I want to win…
Try my luck❤
I'm taking part in the Kobo Rakuten contest! Thank you!
Welcome to help the device I liked a lot because of his weight and high and high stay, but because there is no lighting, I think I think a little in Naut Air 3 .. and with this I still love GO10.3 more you think?
i am still deciding on Boox Go Color 7, Kobo Libra Color or this.....
Thanks for your content! This channel is a treasure for people like us
literally perfect!! who needs a frontlight anyway :D
Onyx Boox is still the top dog in the Ereader Universe.
The Kobo in the video that links to this one looks pretty cool.
So close to being a literal sheet of paper 🙏
I'm always amazed at how good things can look on e-paper and yet stay there forever.
It has a really slick look. I might just have to get one myself.
But the Go 10.3 has beautiful white color and design. 😂
good
I completely agree with the lack of front light. I don't need the million features of fingerprint and so on. But I do need to see the screen 😂
I had hoped it would hit a lower price point, but maybe that was more hope than expectation.
@@EmanueleC_BR the note air 3 is the version with the front light
Will I take the lunge and shift from the iPad Pro to the Onyx?
Does it have an undo gesture like the Remarkable does?
does location really work with that one? and how the hotspot I working if we don't have any SIM card?
Participating in the Kobo Rakuten contest!
I am interested in winning the ereader from Kobo
Manga is 8 inches usually not 7, there are big manga versions that are up to 10 too.
There are also small manga at bookstore and convenience stores that are 7 in and below
i always like devices that are white in color
Wish they also maintain the 6" line though.
Looks more like the big brother of boox Leaf
Wow, it sure didn't take very long
Will google docs and google drive work on this tablet natively?
@@jdelarosa89 sure
Upgraded from poke 4 lite to NoteAir 3C....im very happy
Very interesting device, very interesting review
I'm trying my luck once again!
The best e-reader chennal
Is it wonderful!
That's thinner than the new iPad Pro's.
