Thanks for those very useful washing techniques. I'v been detailing cars for over 40 years and more. I'm doing it for pleasure on my own cars and friend's. Always learning and getting more efficient with all those years. Thanks to you for bringing new ideas / techniques and product in this industry. You are more than welcome. You giving us good opportunities to work faster, easier with more results!!! Long life to DIY Detail! I"m a follower now!!!
I can't thank you enough for all the detailing knowledge you have bestowed on me! I am a DIY fan and haven't even used a drop of your product yet. I have ordered over $400 worth of DIY products, in kits and gallons, they should be here soon. I can't wait to try them all!
Am sooo happy you guys are coming out with the DA & rotary looks great and perform good too 👍🏼. Perfect timing to release in march we should have nice weather for them. Greta job Yvan & nick. Oh forgot to stick to the topic I perfer the pad washer all the way💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
The socket trick blow my mind. So simple, why did I never think about it... I used the pad washer for a long time and was frustrated that I always had too much water in my pads. Did the washer mod and never look back. I wasn't able to free spin it.
As someone who is just getting into polishing this video was fantastic. The easy answer was to buy the lake country system but I’d rather spend that money on some good pads. Thanks Yvan, you and DIY Detail once again offer great tips to those of us who are starting out. Can’t wait for the reveal on the 2 year anniversary livestream tomorrow.
You should try this experiment. Somebody stands to make a lot off of an instant pad cleaner that is not yet available. It's simple chemistry and surprising it hasn't yet been used. On another video, I said using rinseless wash didn't make sense because it's using the same product intended to not remove things like waxes and sealants to clean a pad. You responded, there are no waxes or sealants in polish. I'm aware of that, but there are things that rinseless wash doesn't bind as well to as other chemicals. I've reviewed the SDS for many polishes. I've done this test with multiple products and checked the pad under a microscope for each test run. It's simple chemistry. Take an orange pad because it's easy to see polish in it. Use a white polish similar in chemistry to yours. Use the pad. Put rinseless wash on it, alcohol, soap, solvents, APC, everything that so many cleaners have, and look under a microscope after each. Then take the antitheses of petroleum distillates and metals, sodium hydroxide, spray it on, lightly agitate and check at a microscopic level. The pad is returned to 100% perfection, zero remaining product. You can see it happen without a microscope. Everything nearly instaneously disappears, is first disolved, then rinsed out. Light agitation using the pad cleaner does help also. Pad cleaning solutions need something more caustic. NaOH returns a pad to original condition instantaneously and does not negatively affect the foam. Btw, the easiest way is using oven cleaner since NaOH is the main ingredient. Literally spray on, lightly agitate, spray off, keep correcting. It would be the fastest most effective pad cleaner ever created. The only downside would be the aggressive nature on skin. Just test it.
Great video 💪💪. Hopefully you guys keep the yellow polishers looks very different unique and stands out with the overall theme of the gold standard system and Polish. 💪💪
This is fanstastically useful video. Very good piece of honest marketing. In 1 minute I learned how to clean a pad. It actually makes me consider buing your 3yr coating. At 60GBP if it lasts 3 years in Poland - I would be content.
I wonder if you could use one of those trays you use to paint with a roller. Dunk the pad in rinsless wash and run it on the flat part with the ribs to clean.
Yvan, The one thing I have still never quite understood is how long a pad can be worked, before it's time to clean it. For a beginner, what is the best approach?
hello brother how long do you wait before removing the pad as it absorbs heat i dont want the velcro to get pulled thanks your vids are really good learning alot
Speaking of pads, any commentary you can make on the “micro” vs. “macro” waffle patterns? I am assuming the micro waffle pattern creates more heat and cuts more aggressively (depending on softness of course)…
Love your videos. I realize your products and guidance are for cars, but do you have any recommendations for compounding and polishing an older oxidized RV?
We have designed this to maximize cutting ability and efficiency. We still wanted to be able to finish with it. We tested, 20, 21, 25, 30 and 32. 25 struck the best balance of cut, control and finish.
Could you fit a detail guardz pad washer system and Dirt Lock into a very shallow bucket and then clean your pad on the polishing machine, like the lake country system?
Will you need to change bowl of rinseless if doing a whole vehicle? Can you use same pad without removing to do whole vehicle? If so do you need to wait between passes for pad to cool down? Thanks for the great content, products and advice!
@@diydetailofficial What else can we use instead of rinseless or all clean? I'm not even weekend detailer nor do I wash or polish my car very often, so I don't buy those special products you recommend.
I don’t have your rinseless wash, but I do have some of your incredible suds… will that have the same affect when added to a bit of water for pad cleaning? Thanks
What about just dunking the entire pad in your bucket of rinseless wash, wringing it out, then attaching it back to the polisher and spinning it on speed 6 to get the remainder of the water out?
Do you have an issue with the dirt lock grit guard. Being so tight in the bucket can’t get it out. Without Breaking finger tabs ? It’s my clear bucket I have issue with. Super tight.
Thanks for your tips and trick! I’m a DIY detailer. Here in Mexico, we don’t have your brand, I hope in the future you bring it. I have access to absolute rinsesless, can I use it like your rinsesless for clean the pads?

@@diydetailofficial thank you, but ordering from any of those distributors would cost a small fortune in transport and customs cost to arrive in Serbia.
On the car Im working on now, I clean on the fly by dipping the pad in some rinseless wash, then taking it outside to spin it while at the same time going over the pad with a soft toothbrush. Do you think that's ok to do. Im a beginner, so I don't have tons of pads, plus the better ones are expensive! Thanks
@diydetailofficial Thank you very much. When the time comes to polish my vehicle, I plan on using gold standard with the jeweling pad. By the way, would you consider making a 3-inch jeweling pad?
Off topic question for you. I have the Ultra Black Sponge that Yvan designed, is there a reason to buy the Legacy Sponge besides the colors? I love the Ultra Black and its still in great condition after a lot of washes so im curious if theres much of a difference
@@diydetailofficial sounds like a plan. Just so you know I have been so impressed by your products. I'm not a pro but I've been detailing my cars and families cars for quite some time. I've tried A LOT of products. For me to move off a product I like to something new takes a lot at this point but I've done so with a few of yours now. I am a rinseless man full time and yours is the best I've used. Your decon system of towel plus iron remover is unbelievably effective and efficient. “Blowing out a pad is a great way to destroy a pad”…. Are you saying this is necessarily the case, or is technique a determining factor. Yvan, The one thing I have still never quite understood is how long a pad can be worked, before it's time to clean it. For a beginner, what is the best approach?
Ideally after each pass. If it’s a very small section then after a couple of sections
Simple rule, never add polish to a dirty pad. Meaning every time you go to add polish to your pad it should be freshly cleaned.
Thx Yvan , I just learnt on pad cleaning pads safer and that way to put a pad on perfectly 😊

We have 2 different styles depending on what we want to accomplish. The deeper the waffle the better the finish.
Excellent video Yvan. Is it advisable to use a clean pad on each panel of a car?
