  • The full restoration of the forgotten 1959 Vw Beetle continues! I found this old car sitting in a garage back in 2019. It had been stashed away since 1994 waiting for a full restoration. Larry and I pulled this Volkswagen Beetle from it's soon to be grave, a crumbled garage and Larry brought it home. Follow along on the journey of the restoration videos as this car will be 100 % restored by Larry.

Amazing watching Larry the Craftsman massage and form the metal to his desire. After seeing the Incredible job he did on the previous beetle, I'm really looking forward to seeing the transformation of the Ragtop! Thank you Larry for welcoming us into your beautiful shop and thank you Jay for providing this great content for all of us to enjoy. I know it's a whole lot of work to make this happen, but we certainly appreciate it. So glad I subscribed to your channel.

I still haven't wrapped my brain around that this Beetle will be restored and look as nice as the 65 vert Larry did. I am so excited to witness the 59's transformation as well. Also I am soooo grateful to Larry ( for many things ) for showing us the work and letting me film it. Thank you for the support and kind words, we appreciate it.

All of you guys comments are funny. Most of this is common sense in repair or replacing metal. Larry does do nice work.
And of course he is a good guy with #8!

I like to have a gap too. but I dont show that very much because it is harder for most people to learn to fill it. I do like to start at the corner first so I can peel the old metal back. a bit more. It is a bit easier. Still wont warp if you do tacks all the way along.
