Hi, I am Dr.Manuraj Moudgil, Welcome to Safarnama Exploring World!
This video is about the history of Patiala, Punjab (A Royal City of Punjab). It is one of the 22 districts of the state Punjab located in South-Eastern Punjab, North Western India. Baba Ala Singh (1691-1765) laid foundation of Royal Dynasty of Patiala State in 1763, after whom the city is named. The whole city is located around the Quila Mubarak.
Patiala is World Famous for its Traditional Patiala Shahi Turban, Paranda, Phulkari, Patiala Shahi Salwar, Patiala Shahi Punjabi Jutti, and most special Patiala Shahi Peg.
Patiala State was ruled by 10 Maharaja’s whose name are as follows:
1. Maharaja Baba Ala Singh
2. Maharaja Amar Singh
3. Maharaja Sahib Singh
4. Maharaja Karam Singh
5. Maharaja Narinder Singh
6. Maharaja Mohinder Singh
7. Maharaja Rajinder Singh
8. Maharaja Bhupinder Singh
9. Maharaja Yadavindra Singh
10. Maharaja Captain Amarinder Singh
Each and every Maharaja has done a lot of work in the development of Patiala State which are discussed in this video. The famous places to visit Patiala are Quila Mubarak, Sheesh Mahal, Motibagh Palace, Deer Park, Rajindra Kothi, Baradari Garden, Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium, Rajindra Gymkhana, Shri Kali Mata Mandir, Shri Dukh Niwaran Gurudwara Sahib, Old Royal Gates of the Patiala City, Thapar University, Punjabi University, National Institute of Sports, Traditional old Markets for the shopping, street foods etc.
