I didn't watch this entire video but tried to give it a fair shot. Skipped around a bit and listened to some parts. Timestamps would have been great. You also kind of ramble about different building tricks for most of it which is super informative but not the information someone is looking for on a video titled like yours.
Yea, its the same feedback I had for myself as well. I know while recording, I wanted to add context that helps actually build the blueprints, but yea I need to tighten up my explanations. When I started editing i Had almost 1 hour 20 min of footage, and all I removed were tangents, more would have been cut out but then some of the really relevant and important stuff would have made no sense so I had to leave it in :/
I have been making blueprints in Update 8 specifically to use in 1.0 when it is released. Your game save will be changed and it would be better to start a new save in 1.0 but your blueprint folder you can move to your game save with no problems.
I would assume it's down to personal preference, some people have world they have played for thousands of hours, might be worth it to go through the meticulous work to fix them :P I made a video about planning your new saves start in 1.0 as well, I have a comprehensive plan XD I will start a new world on september 10 when I stream for the first time, 100% vanilla gameplay, only content creator relevant mods so I can get good shots and show certain stuff off.
What you are calling 'styles' I think you mean "Themes" and setting up a 'set' of these would be making the factory version of "Cascading Style Sheets - CSS", this would definitely set a style or theme to that section.
not yet! I have limited myself to what I can do so far in my lets play and I am taking my time, so haven't unlocked tier 3 and 4 yet ^^ gonna happen next week at which point I will probably make some blueprints to share 😄
My catwalks and foundations are not rotating in bits. They either make a 45* angle right away or just a 90*. Also they don't light up white. Just yellow, blue and red.
Is it just me or did they remove that quick lookup, a window that appeared on the hud for any object you pointed at. I went back to playing the game to remember before launch and I can no longer find this setting in the user interface. Nice video btw!
Yes, its removed, it intruded too much on the field of view for the player, kind of like how the tooltips do now XD But The best way to get to the "quick lookup" now is pressing N and search For the thing you need to check. Ifits a building, check it in the build menu, most menus have a search bar now as well, so it speeds up everything significantly when you have 100s of blueprints
I waffle about them in the Smart Factory Concepts video for quite a while, I also showcase their philosophy in episode 21 of the Beginner series.but at some point I will make a dedicated video about load balancers and priority systems as well.
some people do that, I dont fault them. I do my best to not do that, the only thing I do is delete structures with save editing, when it comes to this stuff I like the challenge of solving it in game.
Have Coffee stain studios changed their mind on that? Because just a month or two ago that was not the case. I am pretty keyed in with their communications and I haven't seen anything? Also, you can just go in and copy the blueprint folder over from one save to the other, including between versions. So unless they hardline kill that, your BPs will be safe, even if your save breaks.
@@Frogstoney yea, thats what I heard as well, but people can, if they want, continue their worlds, its just a lot of work to adapt them. Good on correcting misinformation ^^

I was gonna leave a similar comment.

I liked the extra information. I have not used the Blueprints yet, so the information was helpful for me.
@@jamiec8096 Good that it was helpful for you ^^
agreed.

Thanx for a great tips vid! 😃
thank you!

lol, yea probably XD
just saw this video, great work and quite a few tips i can use. Do you have any 1.0 blueprints you share by chance?

I have changed my colors in the settings ^^ Also, if you hold Ctrl you should have smaller rotation increments
Does Penguins have knees? 🤯
I would assume yes, but its a guess XD

Is there a video showing us how to set up priority belt systems? I can't seem to find one.

👌
Thank you!
Instead of all the ridiculous gymnastics to get a block exactly in the right place why not just edit the save.

Sad story: blueprints are linked to the save file and with 1.0 everyone is forced to start from a new save
Have Coffee stain studios changed their mind on that? Because just a month or two ago that was not the case.

Naah bro that's not the case
@@saiayushmanpadhy which one is not the case? The original comment or my response? :P TH-cam comment sections are confusing
This is false. They recommend starting a new save because of world changes and node changes and recipe changes but it’s not required.
