    Man that seem to handle great. I was shocked. But then I've never ridden a fat bike. But we have discussed I do want a couple of those.

    The past few days I've watched all of your ALX videos. My skinny tire bike was stolen a while back and I had been trying to decide if I should get another skinny tire bike or a fat bike, then I found a deal on the ALX, new in the box, for $225 including shipping and decided for the price I couldn't pass it up. I ordered it and it should arrive in another week or so. While waiting for it get here I began watching all the ALX videos I could find and I have to say yours have been great, both in the video quality and the excellent and super informative content. And your enthusiasm for the ALX has now got me so eager for mine to arrive that I can barely stand the wait.

      I got my bike in and got it together, Yeah! But the weather has been too bad to get out and enjoy it. I rewatched some of your videos again. In an earlier video you changed the crank arms, then in a later video you changed the bottom bracket, and the crank arms again, but I don't think you mentioned what length arms you changed to. Did you stick with 175mm or did you go down? With just the limited time I've had to try mine out I think it would benefit greatly from shorter arms. If you went shorter what length did you go to?

      @@dansmith5524 Glad you got it in and all is well!!! very good eye on the upgrades! HAHAHAHA I switched to 170mm. That is my preference and think it feel very nice for my 32" inseam. I am actually wanting to do a long term review on the crankset... Might do that today actually.

    Wash the bike after every single ride during the winter, If you cant do it the next day, never leave it salty and wet. clean it, hand dry it with microfiber towel, lube the chain, wipe. I've never had issues with my bikes, even riding in oversalted roads. But rotors and the chain are the parts that rust the easiest. Also avoid alloy nipples, always use brass nipples, some of the best are Sapim, take a lot of truing and many rock strikes.
    even better than DT Swiss in my experience, rounded them off with the DT Swiss T handle, not impressed, but better than Alu, that will crack, round off and failures. I've not tried the other brass nipples on the market, but I forgot the name. But Sapim seems to be the most popular choice, I see why. So robust, lasts so long, just a few dings and tiny bit of wear after years of use.

    Glad to see the tires are still working for you, and Pat Smage would beg to differ about fatbikes not being meant to jump.

    • @chickensendies
      @chickensendies  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tires are still great! I am definitely no Pat Smage though 🤣🤣🤣 But, when I did get in the air it honestly felt nice!

      @@chickensendies he's definitely an underappreciated talent, and I inky wish I could do an nth of what he can. But yeah, as I continually drone on about, fatbikes are akin to riding old school. In this case the "glory days" of 40mm travel softails.

    Interesting that you don't think fatties are meant to jump. It's not a heavy bike & built like a MTB but wider & no suspension (other than the tires). I'd think the narrow technical parts are harder than jumps.
    Back in the 70s & 80s if it had 2 wheels kids meant to jump it! The type of bike didn't matter, it just meant more (or less) maintanence after the jumps;)
    Always love seeing you thrash the ALX, especially on a gorgeous trail. It reassures me that mine can take more than I'll ever throw at it.

    • @chickensendies
      @chickensendies  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I believe that comment was a little misleading on my part lol I should have said I don't really feel comfortable jumping it because I never really have. But in this video anytime I got it in the air it honestly felt great! I plan on taking it on the jump line soon 😁

    Living in Norway I'm keen to try a fat bike as conditions are unbridgeable most of the time during the winter. Sometimes I wish I had a snow scooter to groom the trails. Sometimes I'm restricted to urban mtb and paths. if nothing is plowed yet, I walk to until I can ride and ride in the city centre. Can't find a second hand Fat bike with decent geo.

    i was wondeirng if you could put this debate to rest for me and tell me how big the dropouts are? Im interested in this bike for a rear hub motor and want to buy it in the next few days but have to order it and want to be sure. I have to stick with 190mm dropouts due to the motor i have. If you could tell me that be awesome!

    Doing JUMPS without suspension might be hard on you, otherwise RUST is bad for everything, if I was in the bike rental business, I would have user give me credit card number to make money 💰 by the day, just so you don't lose any bike.
