question [objective observation]: "set up wifi" in this tutorial and "turn on wifi" in the app, itself. will we connect the phones directly together with the wifi, or must they be connected by wifi to a routed network?
Very important question and exactly what I need to know.
I do not have Wi-Fi at my house so will the Wi-Fi connect directly like my printer does to my phone.

@@ghalibshah6788 the phone keeps the data, it is just copying from one phone to the other, it isn’t actually moving the files
I seen cable methods with other share app but not the ios ,,, did yku use cable and or while on wifi????
@stockstnt8 I ended up transferring my accounts and basic data through the "move to ios" app and for music I just could drag and drop through iTunes and it took care of it, for photos and videos I had to make a folder and then connect the iTunes app to sync with the folder.

I’d say you’d transfer the sim once you have all the desired data transferred.
Put it in right away. It really doesn't matter though, you can do it after too. And at one point it will even prompt you to do so
Can you do it multiple times after the first time? Or you only get one shot?

Thank you for making this so easy. One question - Do I need to notify my carrier (Verizon) that I've switched phones? My account with them specifically shows that I'm using an Android.
They will need to update your account. Definitely see them
Troubleshooting : if what u need is the text messages (not images docs etc) ... just delete all your whatsapp "storage" in your android phone. or u can cut paste them to harddisk first. then BACKUP whatsapp on your android phone. it should leave u with remaining data around tenths to 100mb. Last step : restart both phones. Then do exactly like mentioned in this video.

@@yudhistiradito I didnt switched to iphone. I switched to S23 Ultra and I am super happy. But if you want to transfer all your data from Android to iPhone in a segregated way, I would transfer each photo album separately (or photos from each album separately) and then create the same album on iPhone by adding photos to it.

@@yudhistiradito Yes so its look like this i think. Transfer specific album to the iphone. And then transfer photos from recent to album which you would create in iphone gallery. And do it with all albums from android.
@@kedralive Hi just a heads up that I switched to iPhone 15 a week ago and all my albums on my old Android phone were moved perfectly on my iPhone. So it’s not only showed on recent but literally all albums were moved and well organized based on the date of pics taken (especially from camera album). Super happy and satisfied with Move to iOS app!

Those apps have their own backup methods you have to login to each one and import your backed up data again
What if want to trade android for iPhone. So how would you transfer data with just the android before selling it to then getting the iPhone?

People none of these vids are telling you that you can just switch your SIM card if you running phones with SIM cards instead of going through problems with move to iOS and ya keep getting error messages like I did all night and then I go to the T-Mobile store and the rep just switched the sim and told me if ya have to get more files out of ya droid just create a Dropbox for them and transfer them that way so for all of you wondering switching ya SIM card before doing anything else may save you slot of time

So I have an old android (LG V20) and I have music and plenty of music on my phone. In its actual music app, no spotify, Apple music and souncloud like iphone users use to play music or make playlists etc. These songs are on the music widget no actual app. If I were to switch over data and sim etc and transfer video and picture files would my music stay on my old phone? I want to keep my music. I can care less about pictures
To transfer music you would have to convert your music files to .m4r or .wav, since iPhones support nothing else, and probably do it manually.
How do I manually do my contacts ? Because my contacts are all messed up

Do you have to put your sim in before doing this?
I would recommend doing so since you could have some contacts saved to your SIM card.
