Just got an '04 330xi, I echo you sentiments about the style and interior finish. If I did not know any better I'd think it was a modern car. Oh yeah, and the '04 has a sixth gear😁

Just got a 330xi awd with 130'000 miles on it, clean title, very well maintained, after market high performance parts... exhaust, k&n air intake, brand new supercharger (not Installed tho). Paid $1'000 for it!... made my year!

Decent video. Yet, if you know how to turn a wrench and can follow instructions, BMWs are actually pretty cheap to maintain and repair...

Good review, and I'm watching this review 3 years later...I own an '05 330xi also these days, but there definitely some issues around 150k.. My motor and trans are still super smooth, the suspension definitely needs some help though.. obviously considering the miles. Certainly not cheap, but thank goodness for e46 write ups👍 Great review, and great car 👍

I’m looking at an 05 330xi myself and don’t know if I should buy would u say it’s worth it. The one I am currently looking at has 126,xxx miles and is being sold for 4.5k. And is there anything I should look out for ?

@@steezyd129 Hit me up. I wound up fixing mine up, and it's been running great. Been daily driving it for 3 months straight to work. It took a lot of work and a little cash, but it's one of my favorite cars I've owned. Up to 166k now and still out here performing 👍

Nice vid, I have a very similar interior in my 04, but it's not manual, has the S/M shift tho, which is fun. ABOUT THE RADIO: Mine was originally the "premium package" with the H/K 10 speaker BMW BUSINESS CD. Fine and good, but no aux for a smart phone and no tape deck? O.o I prefer analog to digital audio in most cases so, being the heretic that I am, I looked for the basic stereo, which in 04 should be a cassette deck still. I did find the tape stereo that matched the CD one and sure enough it is an easy swap, the antenna plug needs an easy mod tho, and the new antenna will be a cable tucked behind the glove box. The RDS display will still work for FM radio as well.
The BMW BUSINESS CD is actually made by ALPINE for BMW, made in Hungary, as is the cassette deck. It also has a button for CD if you had a disc changer option wired to the trunk. I just use a good portable disc player with a line out jack powered by a DC lighter adaptor if I want to listen to CDs via cassette/aux adaptor.
All the functions on steering wheel still work the same way too like the CD did, as well as the hybrid H/K stereo speakers but now for tape. This is a very good tape deck for a vehicle and still works fine and sounds amazing with a good cassette. What's interesting is, as far as I know, most tape decks in vehicles had either Dolby B noise reduction or none at all. This deck has a Dolby button that selects: off, Dolby B, AND Dolby C! Most prerecorded tapes after the 70's were encoded in Dolby B as standard until the death of analog tape. Dolby C NR came out early 80's and I have many chrome tapes home recorded off vinyl 30+ years ago encoded onto blanks with Dolby C. So they playback best also using C. The BMW tape deck shines in reproducing analog sound as good as you'll ever hear in a car, and I'd say even better then modern digital harshness they call "music".

A good video, a lot of good information, but please refrain from guessing how you think the 4 wheel drive 70-30 split works. BMW didn't want a car that understeers like a Subaru.

  • @TheEspenK

I guess this is allready comented but GAS-Milage. 330i manual-shifter 1:1 on 5-th with a rearend-ratio of 2.93. 330i auto-shifter 1:1 on 4-th with rearend-ratio 3.45. Learn BEFORE you post, yeah gear-ratios have been a great deal in the the daily life of a car since Henry F. The reason BMW manual have 1:1 on 5-th is because the drive-force under ratio-1 or 1 will affect drive-train faster or at 1 directly. Wich means the car are ment to have this kind of rpm at speed and will if you do not know: Give you 25mpg at 75mph

@@trevorjaster4072 I just bought a 2002 330XI a couple of weeks ago for $2800. It's at just over 112,000 miles. Got the carfax on it, last serviced at 108,000 miles. New belts, head gasket, valve cover gasket, brakes and tires. Interior is 9.5/10, nonsmoker. I am now the proud owner of my first BMW! I big leap from my previous car, a 1997 Honda Civic I owned for 11 years. It was a great reliable car, got awesome gas mileage. It needed some work so it was time to move on to something else. I totally wasn't in the market for a BMW but I found this beauty and couldn't pass up the deal.
