Hey Miami! Just watched this video again as I'm shopping around for ammo. Love your stuff and turned my daughter onto you recently. She laughed her head off over one of your intros! REALLY liked your comment near the very end of this one where you say that you like to vary your rounds in the HDR 50 and 68; pepper balls, aluminum, steel, killer spikes, etc. I LOVE that advice and would LOVE a video dealing with loading strategies. These "Less Lethal" launchers were initially marketed as pepper ball and/or "riot" ball launchers, but they have since been modified and marketed as weapons that can literally tear a bad guy (or a good guy) apart. Unfortunately, as I learned years ago when developing responses to various threats when teaching my daughter to defend herself, I realized that YOU become the bad guy and YOU become criminally and financially liable if your response is disproportionate to the threat. I live in NYS where I'm actually expected to retreat as much as possible if and when a criminal breaks into my home! The bottom line is that mixing your mag loads is smart as firing "killer spikes" from a "highly modified to its maximum potential" first at a criminal is far more likely to backfire on you than unloading pepper balls as your first line of defense and saving the last couple or few shots for the "killer" rounds. Just my 2 cents! Again, much love and respect, Miami! You're helping a lot of people! Btw, bad guys, you will be charged with serious felonies if you use these launchers in the commission of crimes, especially if they are loaded with "killer" type rounds and/or the launcher has been modified to produce more power.
Be verly interesting to see these tests in ballistic gel, with the steel balls and rubber balls for the aftershock and penetration potential. I'm sure these sharp rounds are killers, an the plastic surround will cause injury even before the spike penetrates. Appreciate the testing thanks.
I have two observations. Oh and I do have the TR 50. First observation is I cannot find the ammo to buy in the USA. I would really like to try the aluminum balls. And two to get a real-life demonstration try putting a shirt over some of your targets and see if it will penetrate the material and still do damage. 😂 Great videos thanks!

I like your new shooting gallery much more greenery and space seems like. Well this ammo really elevates these launchers into home defence mode. They are well able to deliver crippling blows out to about 20 yards which will cover most house lengths. Wow my friend this field is evolving so fast that who needs gun powders any more. 😊

Well this American is interested in airguns for defense. Those rounds penetrating the can remind me of the .41 rimfire derringer. Despite being pretty weak it still put down a lot of bad guys in it's day. And it could only penetrate one side of a can. This revolver with the right ammo appears to be more effective than a derringer. And you get 5 shots instead of 1 or 2.
They are not viable defense tools, if lethality is a must. They need to make airguns with more power, higher capacity, and easier on the budget. Right now most airguns are too weak or a big ass bolt-action rifle, I feel like fudds run the airgun industry.

nice video dude, the bullets are getting more and more terrifying.. If the gas in the tube was helium instead of carbon dioxide, I'm sure there would be stronger shots. Helium is a much more "flexible" gas and can give more power in pcp rifles that can use helium gas. When compressed gases are "released", they suddenly cool down and also cool the container they are in. Thus, the expansion coefficient of the gas also decreases. In carbon dioxide gas, this situation is so obvious that it can be seen with the naked eye.
Very interesting! You’ve been saying this for some time now and it makes a lot of sense. I think the big drops in power are also do to the freezing of the valves/seals. Pardon my ignorance, but do 12g helium cartridges exist?
@@AirgunAlley Unfortunately, 12gram helium cartridges are not yet produced. Some people are experimenting with helium tubes by modifying their airguns. But these cumbersome tubes are impractical and make the gun useless. pcp pistols (ataman pcp, Artemis PP700S-A PCP pistol, Reximex RP PCP pistol, Stinger Diana PCP pistol, New russian PCP semi-auto pistol PPK-17 Vaigach) can work with helium gas as they have their own pressurized containers. (I wish they had a larger caliber) by the way ....don't call yourself ignorant, you are not ignorant my friend... It is not "shame" not to have knowledge about a subject...but ignorance is a dangerous process..

With the xm4 attachments in your video the fps was a lot lower with that Peice of tube fitted just infront the revolver barrel and it was higher again when you took it out. Would you suggest not putting that peice in? If so would it effect ammo possibly catching in self entering the m4 barrel if you used the devastators or these killer spikes as they may not fly that straight ? Great videos btw👍🏻

Amigo, I loved these killer spikes but I wonder if these beat the Z Ram .68 caliber steel diavolos style from home defense in destruction. I just ordered the Z Rams. Saludos desde el MAYAB.
I have the 50 cal but cannot tune it up and stay legal. That said with the rubber coated steel, it will penetrate the first skin of an internal door. Next time someone breaks in I will let you know if they bounce off a head.

Hello Friend, if you were to load these spikes into a Mercury Rise TORPEDO, which side of the magazine would you insert them on, the top or the bottom of the magazine? I ask you this because I saw that in the .68 you loaded it from the bottom.
how does the company guarantee those will fly spike first out of the launcher? they could flip backwards with the spike tip making a nice tail end for the flight, thus the blunt rear end hits first, defeating the purpose.

I like the non penetrating wall features about less than lethal air arms. But at the progression Umarex is going.,they could be providing the niche CQB lacking in home defense…after all.,they do own Walther. …less than..doesn’t mean it can’t.

There are so many choices. I recently stopped covering this kind of ammo and there are already a lot of new brands coming out with great ammo. At the beginning it was hard to find slugs that properly fitted the HDR 68, as most of it was made for the slightly wider HDS 68. i was stinking "thats thinking while taking a dump " lol get it ? lmao !!!! about the slugs with steel balls and spikes in them , if you shoot them once , the spike or ball comes out and usually lost right ? if you have balls and spikes you can replace them right ? . well why not ,super glue your spikes and balls in the slugs , that way they will stay with the slug when you shoot them !!!.you could also glue in a bunch of # 7.5,8 or 9 shot lead bb's from shells for more weight ! .
Absolutely, The alu balls are hands down the most powerful. But for a “knock out” effect. If you’re facing someone with heavy clothing, you have a better chance with these. That’s why I always recommend to alternate ammo in each magazine… thanks man

Let’s see. The water is tap water that I refill recycled jugs. The spaghettiOs are one of the most unhealthy “foods” in the world with zero nutrition value. The Watermelon and the flower, yes, those could be considered a waste. But the way I see it, if I ate the watermelon, only one person would benefit from it. In this case, more than 77 thousand people benefitted from it, by enjoying the results of this video. And it’s a watermelon we’re talking about. The flower is a very low quality bleached flower, that frankly serves better as a target than anything else.

Now that wouldn’t be very practical. All T4E launchers have a quick piercing valve that keeps your CO2 cartridge sealed until the moment of need, at which point you press the “button” and the CO2 is released
So, the HDR 68 is indeed modified to it’s max, if you exclude barrel extensions and HPA adaptations. While the HDR 50 (despite it actually being a T50) is a factory 11 joules version - as promoted by Defense Innovations (the shop I got it from)

What if you glued the red plastic into the drum, so that only the silver projectile would be shot out of the barrel? I think the speed would of the bullet would be much higher. Same preassure as the big bullet, but less weight and wind resistence.

I like your new shooting gallery much more greenery and space seems like. Well this ammo really elevates these launchers into home defence mode. Well this American is interested in airguns for defense.
Those rounds penetrating the can remind me of the .41 rimfire derringer. Despite being pretty weak it still put down a lot of bad guys in it's day. And it could only penetrate one side of a can.
This revolver with the right ammo appears to be more effective than a derringer. And you get 5 shots instead of 1 or 2.

They are not viable defense tools, if lethality is a must. They need to make airguns with more power, higher capacity, and easier on the budget. Right now most airguns are too weak or a big ass bolt-action rifle, I feel like fudds run the airgun industry.

If the gas in the tube was helium instead of carbon dioxide, I'm sure there would be stronger shots.
Helium is a much more "flexible" gas and can give more power in pcp rifles that can use helium gas.
When compressed gases are "released", they suddenly cool down and also cool the container they are in.
Thus, the expansion coefficient of the gas also decreases.
In carbon dioxide gas, this situation is so obvious that it can be seen with the naked eye.
A lot of the high power airgun makers are experimenting with helium right now for that exact reason.
All that being said…none of your break down applies to HPA
Very interesting! You’ve been saying this for some time now and it makes a lot of sense. I think the big drops in power are also do to the freezing of the valves/seals.

Unfortunately, 12gram helium cartridges are not yet produced.
Some people are experimenting with helium tubes by modifying their airguns.
But these cumbersome tubes are impractical and make the gun useless.
pcp pistols (ataman pcp, Artemis PP700S-A PCP pistol, Reximex RP PCP pistol, Stinger Diana PCP pistol,
New russian PCP semi-auto pistol PPK-17 Vaigach) can work with helium gas as they have their own pressurized containers.
(I wish they had a larger caliber)

With the xm4 attachments in your video the fps was a lot lower with that Peice of tube fitted just infront the revolver barrel and it was higher again when you took it out. Would you suggest not putting that peice in? If so would it effect ammo possibly catching in self entering the m4 barrel if you used the devastators or these killer spikes as they may not fly that straight ? Great videos btw👍🏻

I have the 50 cal but cannot tune it up and stay legal. That said with the rubber coated steel, it will penetrate the first skin of an internal door. Next time someone breaks in I will let you know if they bounce off a head.

Hello Friend, if you were to load these spikes into a Mercury Rise TORPEDO, which side of the magazine would you insert them on, the top or the bottom of the magazine? I ask you this because I saw that in the .68 you loaded it from the bottom.
how does the company guarantee those will fly spike first out of the launcher? they could flip backwards with the spike tip making a nice tail end for the flight, thus the blunt rear end hits first, defeating the purpose.

I like the non penetrating wall features about less than lethal air arms. But at the progression Umarex is going.,they could be providing the niche CQB lacking in home defense…after all.,they do own Walther.

There are so many choices. I recently stopped covering this kind of ammo and there are already a lot of new brands coming out with great ammo. At the beginning it was hard to find slugs that properly fitted the HDR 68, as most of it was made for the slightly wider HDS 68.

i was stinking "thats thinking while taking a dump " lol get it ? lmao !!!! about the slugs with steel balls and spikes in them , if you shoot them once , the spike or ball comes out and usually lost right ? if you have balls and spikes you can replace them right ? . well why not ,super glue your spikes and balls in the slugs , that way they will stay with the slug when you shoot them !!!.you could also glue in a bunch of # 7.5,8 or 9 shot lead bb's from shells for more weight ! .

I personally think the pointed ammo is more looks than anything. I think overall the aluminum balls do the most damage.
Absolutely, The alu balls are hands down the most powerful. But for a “knock out” effect. If you’re facing someone with heavy clothing, you have a better chance with these. That’s why I always recommend to alternate ammo in each magazine… thanks man

What do you do when you're being attacked, say hold on a minute let me screw in my CO2 cartridge
Now that wouldn’t be very practical.
All T4E launchers have a quick piercing valve that keeps your CO2 cartridge sealed until the moment of need, at which point you press the “button” and the CO2 is released
Are you using modded guns?
So, the HDR 68 is indeed modified to it’s max, if you exclude barrel extensions and HPA adaptations. While the HDR 50 (despite it actually being a T50) is a factory 11 joules version - as promoted by Defense Innovations (the shop I got it from)

What if you glued the red plastic into the drum, so that only the silver projectile would be shot out of the barrel?
I think the speed would of the bullet would be much higher.
Same preassure as the big bullet, but less weight and wind resistence.
