Today we test 8 different types of ammo in .50 and .68 caliber with four T4E guns, the HDS 68, HDR 68, HDR 50 and the HDR 50 in a 3D printed XM4 mount, made by French brand Toursekev. An entertaining video filled with ballistic spectacle!

For a less lethal weapon they sure do make a lot lethal looking ammunition 😅
Hahaha! Yes they take the “less” out of the equation. Of course, you need to be pretty close for them to creat that kind of damage :)
Sometimes "more lethal" less lethal is warranted, especially in the home. I'm amazed at the range of spiky ammo available for those T4E models. Next level projectiles.

I just got my TS 68 delivered yesterday, and I am so happy with this thing! It's the 16 joules model, and it's everything you said it was. From the quality build to the weight, it's looks and power, you can't beat it. It even has a bit of a recoil kick. I couldn't believe it! For CO2 gun, damn bro and I got to thank you for telling us many times how outstanding this gun is. Your word is Gospel brother, and thanks again! Oh yeah, the hdr50 is coming next...

i suggest you find you some 12.65 mm chrome plated steel balls my friend , they are the perfect size to use in the HDP.50 . the 12.7 mm are way more common but do cause problems in hard trigger pull and tearing up the detents in these especially if not properly lubricated ! i always spray a generous supply of pure silicone oil ,1 to 2 second burst , in before loading the 12 gram co2 powerlet , it keeps every running smooth . the 12.65 mm balls weigh 8.39 grams by the way , the 12.7 ,, weigh in at 8.59 grams . to shoot the 12.7 mm without problems you can install a magnet in it that another youtuber came up with or do my infamous "RG ROBOT BALL " mod which will allow you to shoot the bigger steel balls with zero problems .
i suggest doing a power tune to bring the power up to real close to at least 25 joules also bro !
That 25 joules is full on FAC supermagnum break barrel air rifle power like an RWS 350 magnum... So a 130 grain .50 steel ball would be travelling at almost 300 ft per second or 95 meters per second..
The weakest BB gun would be a Daisy Red Ryder at 300 fps to 330 fps firing a 5 grain .17 steel ball which will break human skin and draw blood at close range.
A .50 caliber 130 grain steel ball at that velocity would go thru skin and fat and lodge in the muscles.
A wrist rocket "hunting" sling shot shoots a .37 steel ball less than half of the weight at under 200 fps or 60 meters per second for around 5 joules or 4 ft lbs.

Since 🇵🇹 Portugal 🇵🇹💪 I still haven't bought any WOLF product but from what I saw in your video they seem to be very good quality products, the first ones you test (caliber 68 on the Umarex T4E HDS, the ones with the spigot at the front) It looks like the ones I bought at CODODO, but speaking of these new WOLF ammo makers, they seem to be quality products with very good performance.

Be aware for comparison that hitting something HARD (25 fps swing) with a 20 ounce nailing/framing claw hammer's face is around a dozen joules or almost 10 ft lbs of energy.
A .50 caliber 130 grain steel ball at 300 fps is almost 25 ft lbs or over 30 joules.
A wrist rocket sling shot firing a large heavy .37 caliber steel ball shot at 170 fps is about 4 ft lbs or 5 joules.
A Daisy Red Ryder BB gun fires a .17 5 grain steel ball at 320 fps for one joule or one foot lb.

This is better than Homedefense 24. I like that some of the ammo stay intact. Now I have to beg them to send it to crimeridden South Africa. Otherwise the criminals have to eat lead from my 45 ACP. 😂

I have an idea. Any chance you can sneak into their packaging plant and shoot a few cans as they move along the line prior to boxing? Just sneak in, shoot, and sneak back out. It will give you a chance to test your Ninja skills🥷. I love that mount. Just having that on my HDR 50 will be a huge deterrent without even firing a shot. I'll have to look for some good carpet cleaner, as the perp exiting my house will be leaving a trail, if you know what I mean. See ya next round!

@@AirgunAlley Not too good, I'm afraid. I've not been online for awhile now. My back is still giving me problems. I have two lower vertebrae that are touching. In other words, the disc between them has collapsed. On top of that, I have been getting the occasional dizzy spell. Most likely another small stroke. The dizziness will subside over time. It did before, so hopefully it will again. I haven't got the buckeroos to pay for an expensive "Hotel California" room at the hospital nearby, and not to mention the quacks that staff it. All the best to you and your channel. Keep destroying those Spaghetti-Os. The more people see your videos shooting that crap, the more they will understand the message to stay away from those "Cans of Cancer."

Не стал там комментировать, дело в том, что я смотрю видео с автоматическим яндикс-переводчиком и комментарии на латинице не читаю. Я учил конечно английский, но оценка у меня была удовлетворительная (только когда смысл не совсем понятен, а нужен точный перевод, читаю оригинал и перевожу "вручную" 😉) поэтому понимаю только общий смысл, а это решил почитать через гугель-переводчик, что там народ в комментариях про дротики (хотя более точно эти арбалетные стрелы называются "болт") пишет и оказалось что всё уже сказали без меня😎
Про этот и предыдущий видеоролики - вот это и есть настоящий "хоум дефенс" (home defense)!
Это я к тому, что написал тебе в прошлый раз, что твоя винтовка создавалась для тихого убийства, а не для защиты. В чём разница? Дело в том, что согласно исследованиям криминалистов прошлого века, предел безопасного выстрела с учётом пробития составляет для человека средних размеров 13-15 Дж. Именно от этой цифры, тупым делением пополам, получилась современная каноническая цифра для разрешённой пневматики 7,5 Дж. То есть считается, что пневматические пули калибром 3-6 мм при этой дульной энергии максимум способны пробить только одежду и кожу человека, без проникновения в тело.
Для пневматики калибров .41-.69 (гладкоствольные калибры от 410 до 14 ( ic.pics.livejournal.com/skunk_69/75555246/109064/109064_original.jpg )) из за большой площади снаряда максимально безопасной считается дульная энергия 13-15 Дж. Считается что при такой мощности снаряд не способен сломать кости, максимум нанести очень сильные ушибы и наружные повреждения кожи при значительном останавливающем действии. Сравни со считающимися несмертельными для травматических "резинострелов" 30 Дж мощности, из-за очень маленького веса резиновой пули 9 PA. Обе цифры (7,5 и 30 Дж) являются производными от цифры в 15 Дж. Именно пневматика калибра .41-.69 является "золотой серединой home defense" с большим останавливающим действием и небольшой проникающей способностью.
Так что идеальный пневмат "home defense" должен быть мощностью 13-15 Дж, что дают 12 граммовые баллончики СО2 с нормально отрегулированными клапанами. Меньше - бессмысленно, больше - опасно, могут необходимую самооборону переквалифицировать в неумышленное убийство, а это уже другая статья уголовного кодекса. НО!
Вот у тебя есть оружие выдающее 13-15 Дж, с технической точки зрения и по закону - ты абсолютно безопасен, но защищаться надо и тебе на помощь приходят снаряды специальной конструкции! Даже если ты застрелишь бандита дротиком-болтом или расколешь череп силуминовой пулей - чисто технически ты абсолютно невиновен, так как и твоё оружие и твои снаряды полностью соответствуют категории "совершенно несмертельно" 😜👍
P.S. Скажи, для тебя приемлемо, что я так много теории пишу, да ещё и по русски? Просто не уверен, что смогу через гугель-переводчик совершенно точно выразить то, что хотел сказать, а техническая теория помогает "выдавить" максимум даже из безопасного оружия.☝🧐

Hello. Just watching the damage these rounds do seems to be pushing the less than lethal closer to lethal. Hit someone in the head with those last rounds could put someone in serious injury or down for a dirt nap. When someone gets hurt that bad or dead, law always gets involved. People with only these launchers as a legal means of defense need to not draw the attention these rounds might cause. Just my opinion. To each their own.
Very interesting advice very good advice alternating ammo heavy ball bearings i would want on shot one pointed projectiles dont take as much energy to be effective and finally spicy air and grimburg 6 gram Kinetics are ruthless pepperballs very potent but meat to be shot above 30j to get the thick shell to disperse very great advice indeed

It’s hard to say really. In terms of ammo, I like to alternate a variety of shapes and forms in each magazine. As for launchers, I think the HDR 68 without the restrictor is the strongest and easiest to manage/store. Hope this helps a bit! Thank you again my friend!

Any possibility to measure ammo speed near end of the flight? Spinning projectiles should have faster speed after 10 meters of flight.
Sure that’s possible, but as a general rule the chronograph should always be placed very close to the muzzle, to get a realistic reading of the speed :)

Alright final question... Did adding the M4 kit, actually correct the barrel/accuracy issue with the abuse barrel? I mean if sending it crooked, into a 20 or so inch slolom of straightness corrects it, how much more accurate would it be with brand new components? Sorry just the way my brain works, take your time and I love the iguana bro lol, talk to u later
Honestly I need to do more “research” on the XM4 barrel’s ability to “correct” the shots. Also cos that barrel itself has been through a few abuses as well. But I hit the cans, so I’d say def some improvement. And the longer barrel also improves the speed of the slugs!
New components would’ve done the trick for sure. Especially a steel tuning barrel. But I recently decided to stay away from “modifications” and just shoot stuff out of the box - as most of my viewers do. Thanks again man
pretty dope video dog. I watched because double barrel shotguns are illegal in the US, but I love the look of the Umarex, and its somewhat of a loophole. I was curious though, if you guy's had a right to firearms would you be happier or fearful of those who had them? no offence intended, Genuinely curious.
Hey Erik, thanks a lot! Good question which is asked a lot, rightly enough. I can’t answer for others, but for me - born and raised in Italy - I’ve never been exposed to firearms.
So I find this to be a perfect in between. Now, having these in the US where there most people are heavily armed, well - you need to really measure the scenario well, before pulling a less lethal out.

Hi my friend! T4E is just the name of the under-brand that makes them. There is only one HDR 68. Now to confuse things, the HDR 50 changes name only in the US, which becomes the TR 50. But it’s the same gun :)

How long does it take to add the long parts to the HDR50?
How long does it take you to unscrew and re-screw tiny screws while being careful to not lose the tiny springs and remembering where every tiny part goes, once you took em out?

That gel head always low key creeping me out with those balls in it. My mind kinda twists and I think of a man that sits with rubber balls under his skin and doesn't get them out, while continuously feeling the discomfort.
No such thought or feeling from opaque gel heads, where you don't see the projectiles in it. 😅

I think you destroy the Aluminium barrels shooting solid metal slugs.
Try to put some super lube on the tip of co2 capsule and don't clean the barrel from the super lube to avoid much possible friction between metal slugs and barrel.

Hey Justin, no compared to the others of the T4E line this one is mostly metal. Or maybe 50/50. The grip is plastic, but the barrels are metal. And it has a nice weight to it :)

These are cool and creative slugs, but I doubt they make a good non-firearm self-defense option. Sure a shot to the face at close range might end the threat, but you only have 2 shots (on the HDR 68), and even with a proper modern firearm shooting at the torso is always advised, as actually hitting the head in an immensely stressful situation is unlikely. Even with those upgraded slugs I doubt a torso shot would have enough reliable stopping power.
For us poor bastards who don't live in a free country, I reckon a good old baseball bat, a machete/large knife, strong pepper spray and/or a self-cocking crossbow with broadheads are all better options.
The hds 68 is the two shot and the hdr 68 is a five shot

Hi Gerard, great question! I don’t think they do. They’re made to fit the HDR revolvers (or the HDS 68 barrel). Of course, you can always muzzle load them, but not sure how cool that is 😬

I think if they are not longer than a first strike round it could work. The question is if the pin maybe will block in the mag. I think also the projectiles body needs to be as long as possible to stay stable in the mag. So not all of them will work, but some maybe.

You make a good point, and in this particular video I forgot to insert my usual warning to ALWAYS CHECK YOUR LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS before ordering/buying/shooting any product seen in my videos.
Also, these can definitely be lethal if shot at short range - however remember that they’re powered by a 12g Co2 cartridge. Unlike a firearm, if you have the chance to manage a bad situation, these can very much be less lethal.
It always depends on the specific situation and the scenarios are infinite.
@freak azoid - who would give a crap at that point? If you really got into a home defense situation and managed to get thru it using less lethal means then all the better. What happens to someone coming into your home to cause harm to your family would be the last thing I would be worried about. If they pass or need surgery oh well. At least with something like this they have a chance to not get ended instantly and retreat or be repelled back. Sometimes in life you FAFO.
You could mix up the ammo, starting off with the solid balls to inflict pain and moving up to these pellets of hell for severe life threats.
