The Model D Note Priority should be on a Physical Switch on the Unit and the Poly Chain should also be able to work with other products. In a Live setting, being able to play the Model D alone as a Lead Voice (and not doubling external sounds) would be Very Valuable. Also having the Model D as the Top Voice and sounds from another (Polyphonic or Monophonic) unit(s) for supporting tones woud radically improve it's potential in Live settings.
Please, I need help. I am a novice on semi-modular synthesizers (like is Behringer Model D here ). But I can't get any sound, except the A-440 reference tone. Does anyone know where the problem might be? I have Arturia KeyStep connected like this on video. It's the second BMD I've tried and it's the same - no sound in the VOICE switch settings. Thank you for your advice.
Stop deluding youself.. its a behringer knock off.. a soi boy synth.. and it sounds weak.. no weight in the lows.. harsh grainy highs.. has none of the magic so to speak.. and then there is the small matter of the ip theft.. but its no moog.
I have both moog and behringer you are Wrong. Check with the moog and behringer clone and the eq analysis would show that your statement lacks any meat or substance. Moog has slightly more character but on the whole they are virtually identical sounding.
I can't afford a Mini Moog of any type, but when I saw what the Behringer Model D is going for I was blown away, it's well within my limited budget. I spent more for my MicroKorg back in 2007.
I had a Voyager, unfortunately I had to sell it, I never had a Model D, but I could compare it with this Behringer and I can say that the Behringer has a lot more "vintage" character to the sound than the Voyager! The sound of Kraftwerk's The Robots Neon Lights is much more nostalgic in Behringer than Voyager! It just doesn't have the glamour! The Fetish!

I see, i hear the Sound of Model D and my Heart going Wild 🎼🎹 Nice Soundcheck. But a Question from a Beginner like me. Can i save Presets? Or need i Overlays? I will buy the Model D in the next Days
Studio Electronics SE02, is perhaps the most underestimated synth available (Rolands hideous 'Boutique' format aside). A more usable, larger format desktop module would be most welcomed.
great video man! can you tell more about how you route your midi channel from model d? what is your master clock? what daw are you using? cause i also have keystep and model d and i can't set it up properly in ableton live10. I would really appreciate your help !
Thanks! All my synth are manually synced - no connection between them, all have very stable internal clocks - and when they don't (like Arturia) I sync them from Analog Keys or JD-Xi. You should sync your Keystep via USB with Ableton (see User Manual or some tutorials), and Keystep will transmit transmit MIDI to B.Model D., sequencing it. I suggest you to make your Ableton the main sequencer for Model D, directly via USB. It would be much easier and also, Keystep would be able to play via Ableton the Model D.
Thank you! What is the box to the right that you bring in before 5mn..? Thanks :) Wow! I am now 8 minutes in, this is beautiful what you are creating here!!!! I love it~
Hi, great sounds! im thinking getting that kind of small eurorack case for model d, have some reverb and delay in it. Did you buy that case or built? Clouds seems interesting, can you get anything like a delay from it?
Great demo! I've been experimenting with getting polyrhythms from the two LFO's. Set the main LFO to sweep each bar sine and Osc 3 to sawtooth triplets etc. So cool, and you can balance it easily with the LFO/Osc 3 pan pot. it's tricky getting the rhythms exact manually with the little knobs, but not really much harder than a real Mini. Except the real Mini doesn't have the extra LFO anyway lol! Killer machine!
Can you tell us more about the mini effects rack? Aside from the Clouds and Doepfer modules, do you use any other module? Is there a utility module that's mandatory for this kind of setup? Thanks!
At this very moment, I don't use Eurorack modules anymore - I was invested at some point to much than I expected, so I had to cut off. This was my last setup, as an effect unit. From now on I only have Roland Demora (great delay) & Scooper. In modular world it is very important to know what do you specifically want: from a small setup to a large one every module should be chosen for the results you want to have. This is the efficient way. The other way is the compulsive buying: you buy a lot because you love to spend money and time on modules and to have a wide variety of sonic results. The possibilities are endless. With Model D, it would be nice to have a small rack of LFOs, random generators, a sequencer and some effects.
Great video from you as always. If you have the roland Demora and Scooper, you could program one or both as additional LFOs, ADRSs, filters for the Model D. Personally, I would use the scooper and keep the demora as delay.
So... having at last these two great competitors from a few decades ago (their recreations or copies) Minimoog and Odyssey, how do you think, which one is better for creating cosmic landscapes? :)
now since you have the boog, what are your opinions on se02 vs boog? if money is not an issue and you just have to buy only 1. any likable sound texture on se02 over boog?
I am still amazed at how many demo videos for this synth do nothing to tune the oscillators to anything other than octaves. Try something different, people. You will be amazed. I have one of these. The 4 oscillators are not there to make just a thick chorus. They are there to be tuned to 4ths, 5ths, tritones, Sus chords, big fat fifths in the bass with a 2' whistling up high.
Hey man wicked vibes! What have you got the Behringer seated in? I have the keystep and that MIDI out on the back is in the worst place ever!!! Thanks for the rad videos!
I agree, I can't currently afford a stand for my Minilogue and my desk is set so the Keystep is in front of it, connected with some Volcas to the left (or Circuit to the right), so I have my Minilogue on 6 books and 2 CDs, and it's still a tight fit to let the MIDI and USB not poke into the books on the right.
Model D is punchy and precise, SE-02 is having more harmonics but not su much low end as Behringer. INMHO, they match - not compete! I'll record a tandem of these two.
Alba Ecstasy I like the idea of pairing the model D & SE-02. However, I already have a Sub37 and am wondering between the other two would you recommend?

how are they gonna do that in an update? You'd have to manually go into the circuit and add digital controll for every parameter. That won't happen in a simple update lol.

I wouldn't judge a book my its cover when it comes to Behringer's synths. Keep in mind that the low cost has more to do with the fact that Behringer now has a production facility built specifically for mass producing their synths (the Deepmind for sure anyway). This allows them to cut costs where other analog synth manufacturers cannot because they lack the massive scale of operations that Behringer has. I can't speak for the Model D, but I do have the Deepmind 6 and it has held up just fine in the 15 months I've owned it. And now that they've dropped the price, there is honestly nothing comparable - $499 for a Juno inspired analog synth with on board effects? Nothing comes even close. A lot Benringer stuff is still junk, but their synths are definitely not in my experience. My DM6 sounds amazing.

I had this on in the background and completely zoned out. Watched it again and found out the Model D is an excellent monosynth. Now I want one.

Amæthron update of the synthesizer itself like how the sub 37 has the subsequent 37 after it with more features
