Buyer POV video for y'all today. My friend & I drop around $1K USD, much slower buying day as it's a smaller show we probably spent like $3K total last weekend at a larger show in the area.
Still had a good time and made a few deals. And, I open a sealed product from 1999!
Some of the vendors I interacted with here who are regulars in the local Pokemon card community:
IntropyDR: / @intropydr
PokeNhan: / @pokenhancards
88 Cardhouse: / @88cardhouseusa

How have I lived here my entire life and never known about that I literally just got back in the Pokémon two weeks ago lol I guess I’ll have to wait for the next one
@@Aurorajean8 that’s awesome! There’s another one coming soon in mid August
intropydr and wife are super cool people lets goooo
they're the best! Always try to make a deal with them and bring my friends to them.
@@oyamastrading Im at their table next to you at 7:30 lol small world
@@kenmei18 That's awesome lol! Such a small world.
That binder is sick! Thanks for the shoutout man!
Appreciate you! look forward to more deals my guy. Btw taking the Neo Premium File cards out -- only 3 of them I'll send to grade. Typhlosion, Feraligatr, Totodile. A few of them were too OC or had a very minor bend, they'd probably 6-7 and be a wash. The other 3 at 8-10 it's worth the shot!
Bruh wtf. I live in this city, why is this the first time I'm hearing of this.
@@oddishu this one is pretty frequent!
These shows are really bad at advertising so you mostly hear of them by word of mouth. My small rural town gets small card shows and I always miss them because I don't know anyone lol
ayo I see myself in the background at 9:50 in the batman shirt this was my first card show and I enjoyed it with my friend
Heyy nice! Glad you enjoyed. Are you going to any more? A bunch coming up
@@oyamastrading going to “the collected” next month in Santa Clara only one I know not sure when the others are coming up but I’m interested if you know
@@rumrumpster117 Havent heard of that one! Hypecon TCG is June 29 Saturday. Same weekend there's a big Fairfield one. Following weekend is East Bay card show in Burlingame.
Great video here bro I love all that’s I’m seeing ❤
Thanks so much appreciate the kind words.
love the vid and the buyers POV hope to see you at a card show one day!
🙏🙏🙏 would be a pleasure to meet you at a show!
Shout out from Richmond Ca
Awesome! I'm East Bay as well. Thanks for watching & saying hey
Dude. I've been looking for card shows near salinas. Didn't even think of checking san jose lol. Gotta check it out next time forsures
They do this one every few months I believe! And there are others in the South bay if you keep an eye out for em. Hope you can hit one!
Nice video bro! I ended up checking it out for about an hour on Saturday. I got the shining Ttar you were looking for from Danny and traded him back the shining celebi you asked about haha.
Hahaha wow dude no surprise we have some similar (very good, of course) taste.. whatcha do with the Ttar??
@@oyamastrading I just ended up trading it for a bunch of modern PSA 10’s. I’ll send you pics of all the stuff I got for it once they arrive!
@@jamestownsend2479 Awesome love it
Never knew this show was around. Ill be at the October one. Id love to know if any others in the South Bay exist.
Yo i love your vids you do some pretty cool stuff nice editing btw but i feel like you definably deserve more subs with your love to the pokemon community and u just gained one
Thank you man cuz u got me back to pokemon again and i used to have really good cards i think i had a few 1st edition blastoise def no charzards but i gave the all away no knowing the price as a kid but i feel so upset at myself for what i did as i did not just sell them for money but my friends thought i was weird since i was into pokemon but i regret letting people change me especially if i cant enjoy myself but im trying to rebuild my collection and thank you for getting me back up on my Journy.

Hey thanks for watching and commenting. A lot of us lost or didn't care for childhood collections! But it's fun nostalgia revisiting as an adult. Enjoy the hobby!
@@oyamastrading Sure thing man you have a fun journey too fill out you binder for me make sure to have fun and i would say keep up the good work
just stumbled on your page and recently got back into collecting pokémon cards and would love to go to one of these conventions in the bay, do they happen often?
Welcome! Yeah, they do!
Mr Oyammmmmmaaaaaaaaaaaaaa in the hauusssssss
I n n e r t r i a d
nice camera setup! what do you use? I can actually see the colors pop on the cards
Hey thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment.
The camera is a DJI Osmo Action 4. Shooting in 4K at 60 fps. Did some very minor editing in post to boost color and contrast without making anything look unnatural. This venue has a big domed skylight so it was hard to get around some glare!
Anyway I'm pleased with the equipment so far - glad you enjoyed!
Re: you checking out the 9 prices in the beginning, I know most consider modern PSA 9 to be at raw price, would you say that’s the case for BGS 9 modern too?
Love this video!
Hey! Honestly i don’t know the answer to that. I suspect for 9s it is similar but BGS usually command a premium in 10s over other grading companies
When's the next show In San Jose,CA it sucks I missed this one.
There’s Hypecon tcg and east bay card show in the burlingame area coming up!
@@oyamastrading Awesome, How do you keep up with the card shows in the bay area? Is there a newsletter. I just moved here so I'm not really familiar with the place. I appreciate it.
@@LiveLyfeSlow I'll re-share what I told another commenter!
The places I usually find them are 1) instagram 2) word of mouth just by being part of the community a bit more recently and 3) looking at the schedules of local vendors.
@intropydr does a great job of the last point, their most recent videos always include a schedule of upcoming shows they're attending, which can serve as a good way to calendar out shows you might want to check out!
Hello im from Bay Area, how do you find where and when these shows are?

@@oyamastrading thank you
what kid of camera are you using?
DJI Osmo Action 4!
What are you looking at for the prices. Is there anymore coming up in the bay area?
Re: shows in the bay yes there are a bunch, if you do a search for sports collectors digest card show calendar that's not 100% of them but it's a solid chunk. I also like to reference @intropydr's video descriptions because they put which shows they're doing and they attend most bay area shows.
Re: pricing here's what I told another commenter with a similar question:
I was thinking about maybe making a video explaining how to navigate a card show as a buyer. I personally mostly use:
- For English raw cards: TCG Player
- For slabs, Japanese, niche cards that don't sell often: eBay/Pricecharting (the latter mostly just aggregates eBay sales)
- I also have others like Alt available which serve a similar purpose by aggregating listings and sales from multiple sites like eBay
@@oyamastrading Thank you for the in depth reply man it is much appreciated. Ive just bought loads via online platform but Im really trying to go drop a bag at a show and face to face. Thanks again.
@@CollectingAddiction you're welcome. I really like buying at shows. Very fun, a lot of good human connection, you can check card condition for yourself, and almost everyone's down to make a good deal. Bring cash!
@@oyamastrading Always cash baby 💪
Whats that thing on your wrist?
App called ALT is better for slabs
If compared with DEX, PriceCharting do it still better ?
Never tried ALT! Why is it better?
Shows current fixed prices and auctions of slabs on eBay,pwcc and other auction houses. Also shows More recent sold purchases from eBay
@@aznjoseph YES! And if you need to check on the slab price. Just take a picture of it and it shows everything
Ty for explaining
