    I've done everything you demonstrated ten times. I've fixed scooters motorcycles and all. Wtching you do this was so satisfying. Sometimes you just want confirmation what you are doing is right. Somebody else demonstrated how the gas cap lid vent can be plugged stopping the gas from coming in. That was a new one on me. Thanks for the great video.

      i plug the petcock valves suction side from the intake manifold and give it a gentle blow to stop gas from coming thru lol

      I don't like these spacers on the intake manifold. Mine has cracked 4 times. Some 1 told me it could b that type of air filter on carb doing it. But it frustrating cause I jus installed big bore kit and I am not against them now. 50cc scooter passing somebody. It a funny look but my top speed 47 was only getting 29 tops

    Are you operating this scooter without the cooling shrouding? I would strongly suggest that you reinstall it unless you want your engine to melt. It's a fan cooled engine and depends on the shrouding to force air through the cooling fins.

      You might need to adjust the screws depending on the air filter that you use. If you use the one that comes with it, you should be fine. As for the idle, it should be fine as it is as long as it will idle with the new carb. Just make sure that you order a 150cc carb as the one that is linked is for 50cc.

    • @whitechrist2965
      @whitechrist2965 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably not. The intake ports on the head are usually no bigger than the stock carb anyway, and even if you port it so that it matches a larger carb there is a trade off in acceleration to reach a higher speed. Carb upgrades alone are not really going to do much, they are part of a modification package that works together, and imo carb upgrades aren't that useful. Upjetting the stock one is more essential when opening up the air intake. You want to go faster go for the big bore kit. That's the most bang for the buck, but of course it is a bit more work.

If it is 2 you might be able to add just an expansion pipe exhaust and eliminate possible restrictions on it for some bolt on speed. Either way a big bore kit will always add speed and power too, and with more power you can tune the transmission for even more top speed if that's your goal

      On a 150cc yes but this is about upgrading a 50cc

      So basically don't buy the new carb unless you have big bore kit?

      @@keylostax I don't have enough experience upgrading the 150's to be able to give you an answer, I've only hopped up the 50's. Even though they are both gy6 engines and similar in most ways there are differences. I will say that from what I've seen others do with their 150's, the bigger carbs usually go along with a cylinder head upgrade, one with bigger valves. Stock 150's always had enough power to me where I didn't need more, but there are plenty of options if you do. Because they have more power to spare than a 50, if I wanted to get more top speed out of one (as in not acceleration) I'd try changing the variator weights toward that goal. You might be happy with that alone. I had a friend that got one to top out in the low 60mph range from doing just the variator weight tuning. Now if you are asking about a 50cc then no, unless you want to go for maximum performance and tune everything, the stock carb will work fine with a proper upjetting and open air intake along with a small bbk (72cc) for the easiest most reliable gain. I wouldn't even bother with a bigger carb unless you want to go farther with mods like an aftermarket head.

      @@whitechrist2965no I have a 50cc DF50sst... just was wondering if the bigger racing carb you have shown is will help my bike? :)

      @@keylostax No, I don't believe a carb swap by itself as shown will make any noticeable difference.

    Is there a needle restrictor under the brass cap at the top?

      @bananajuice125  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Chad Whittaker The particular one listed in the description is only for 50cc motors, but most gy6 are the same same. You should just need to order a bigger carb and the instructions should all be the same.

      I am not really sure. It should be about the same process but the carburetor works with the GY6 motor which I don't think the Yamaha uses.

    This carburetor is junk . The spark plug junk too . Use better quality parts

      This is a $30 carburetor. You cant really expect super quality parts. I put a new one on every year for the convenience of it. This video is just to show the installation of a new carb whatever kind someone orders.
