      Although it wasn't written for a cello (as an instrument played between the legs) in first hand. It was written for a viola da Spalla (respectively Violoncello da Spalla) which is a cello played like a violin or viola.

      I like how skinny people usually brag about how much they eat and that they can't gain weight. Then they see my portion.
      Skinny person: "You going to eat all that?"
      Me: "What are you talking about? This is but a snack!"

    • @noelic6744
      @noelic6744 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@WildStyle Haha, as a skinny person I think something similar happened to me too. I used to brag about not getting fat no matter how much I eat, then I learned how much junk food my friends consume per week while I haven't even eaten anything other than homemade stuff made by my mom for like over 3 years.
      OF COURSE YOU'RE GONNA GROW FAT IF YOU EAT STUFF LIKE THAT!!
      Then I learned that even the girls on diet treat themselves to something every month for their hard work...and I literally facepalmed at that. You have NO right to be jealous of me! (Well, I guess they can be jealous of my lack of cravings for any type of food.)

    • @WildStyle
      @WildStyle 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@noelic6744 Oh yeah... While skinny people don't understand that diet, does not necessarily mean it's for weight loss. Fat people on the other hand don't understand tha-... STOP EATING! Literally I have seen overweight person complain about being fat, while stuffing their face... It's like really? You don't understand why you are fat?
      Truthfully everyone is different, both by habits and body and it's hard to compare unless you see exactly what they do. Going on a random diet, has never helped anyone, you have to know why and if it actually works for you. And if you can't keep to it, you might as well forget about it, Unless it is a more loose one, at which point you have to wonder how effective it is. I like to eat a lot, at once, So it doesn't matter what it is, if I stick to eating 3 times a day, healthy or not, I will get fat. So to counter this, I eat only once a day... I didn't know at the time, but it is an actual diet. :D Eat once a day for 5 days, enjoy yourself during the weekend, throw some exercise in there and I am good. Will it work for everyone? Hell no! Does it work for me? Yup, just fine.

      That bass tone though! You ever feel like we as cellists are short about a fifth on the low end? So much of the repertoire is played into second position but back at home noodling I always get back down to the open C and think "i was sure I had a slightly lower register". I don't know I'd ever play a five string though. Maybe a double bass style C extension could be fun on a cello?

    the piece takes on a whole new character in this setting, it became fresh for me. Beautiful.
    But I'm confused by the choice of organ shoes. I can't really criticize because I'm not at that level yet, nor do I think I ever will be, but they seem kinda cumbersome.

      Alex Watson it’s actually by design in my understanding, a large heel allow them to sort of tap dance and double the rate of playing instead of only using the toes.
