05:30 here comes the part that makes my heart race. Indistinguishable from the sound of a 60 piece orchestra. 08:30 reprise 🎡🎠🎢🎪 Hard to believe this piece was not originally written for organ! 06:10 wow those horns!
This is brilliant !! I must have watched this video 100 times, I'm sure. What an extraordinarily excellent organist and transcriber, and how very good he is at choosing music that is addictive. You just have to hear it again and again ad infinitum.
What a vast pool of material the brothers have to present to us. I love what they select to bring to life! same hallmarks as always--- clarity of line, perfect tempo, lucid registration, superb videography and sound recording. Standouts, in a class of their own.
Until I stumbled upon your videos during lockdown I hadn't heard this beautiful piece in ages, and now I've played it hundreds of times since. Great for helping to lift the mood! Your mastery of Lichen Stary Basilica's organ with this piece is great, but much of the lovely melody seems to get lost in the sheer size of the space and (I'm guessing) the long distances between the pipe groups. Hereford's organ does your work more justice - sounds perfect to me. 😊. Even better is to be in that cathedral while streaming this into my ears!
A great instrument and a great performance. I love the varied and nicely graded registrations you use. You could almost believe it was written for the organ - a mark of your skill as a transcriber.
Jealousy, probably. And there's always people who want to crap on beautiful things. I think anonymous dislikes should be banned. Anyway, a big thumbs up from me. A great transcription of Rossini's irresistible overture, and playing to match :)
Complimenti Maestro. Bellissima trascrizione. È riuscito a riprodurre lo spirito dell' ouverture e a farci apprezzare il crescendo Rossiniano perfettamente. Grazie. Bravo, bravo bravo
A great transcription of my favorite Rossini overture and a great performance as well. I love the way the German title sounds: Die Diebische Elster. I really like the way the pedal work is featured on camera; this is too often not included. Ten stars for this one!
Catherine Ennis brought this piece to Reading Town Hall in November 1988. I later learnt it and have played it many times since including this morning at a charity event. Great piece!
Excellent. I was cynical at first, but after hearing it played on the organ , it was total disbelief, and now I am converted. Highly recommended 🎶🎶🎼🎼❤️❤️
I played a 4 manual tracker years ago. It was imported from Switzerland and assembled at the school. You could play Heart and Soul on an instrument like this and it's going to sound great with timbres from gentle to massive. This performance shows what man and machine can really accomplish.
I was so lucky to be at this rectial on Monday of this week. The whole programme was superb. Hearing it like this on recording feels so different to being sat in the nave but still amazing. Bravo!!
Excellent recording with great camera work and editing. Most organ videos have the camera stuck somewhere without much thought. This gave a wonderful feeling for the cathedral.
Fantastic, one of my all time fave Rossini tunes (since I first heard it on the 'A Clockwork Orange' soundtrack back in the day). Masterfully arranged and executed (pardon the Clockwork Orange pun).
Bravo Maestro! Absolutely beautiful. The music, the organ, the Church and acoustics result in an amazing piece of music played by an absolutely master on that organ.👍👍
Who owns TH-cam? Can you imagine that they never gave something for free to the people? You have to pay a price for this. If you want, you can figure out why this is for free. It is about panem et circenses.
@@detlefschmidt6789 Hi Detef, I am no scholar so had to look up your Latin quote. Definition of panem et circenses : bread and circuses : sustenance and entertainment provided by government to appease public discontent. I would think TH-cam is separate from the government. It's all about advertising.
@@bengunn99 It is deflection. It is deflection, so the people can be hold in interest bondage further. That is the price. And this is a very high price.
All apart from an enjoyable realization of a joyous piece of music, this and others in the Scott Bros videos show off the beautiful cathedral interiors, and very impressive organs. thanks too for the organ specifications, which I'm working on understanding. Looking at the names of many stops, and listening to the corresponding sound, makes you realize that organs were the first synthesizers! Centuries back.
Wow Jo! Yet another show piece of your extraordinary talent and gift. Remarkable. Keep them coming and get CDs out, better yet iTunes yourself. You are a genius in your own right!
I had a smaller version of this organ at my church.great master, thank you! You are qualified for the astronaut position in the most modern spacecraft 😄👍🏻
This is brilliant...Its a little 'clockwork orange ' the power of the organ combined with the music of rossini leads itself to the film in my opinion...very well done
I can't wait to hear Jonathan play this at the RAH on the 29th of this month! I have no doubt it will be beyond belief fantastique. Isn't everything he does? (That's not a question. It's an indisputible statement!!)
You, Sir, are incredible. I enjoy every transcription you do. Your playing is amazing. I think you played at Leeds Town Hall, a place I was employed in the 60's before coming to Canada. I managed to sneak out of the office many times to hear various organists practice. It was a great place to listen to music. And it was a fun place to work - even though I was just the "junior." Keep up the great work!
Was not a real Rossini fan...until now. This work is probably so much fun to perform! As an emotional musician (Cellist), I feel every note in this performance and bask in their pleasing-ability. Thank you sir!
Amazing - a one-man orchestra !!
I was on the sofa and I couldn't help standing up and starting clapping at home. Happiness condensed in music.

Such an iconic Rossini overture wonderful to hear it on the organ!
I’m so enjoying these organ recitals. Thank you for your generosity!!!!
Yes, he can! Great! One of the world best organists!
Tutta orecchi! Quanto tempo che non la sentivo ed è stato un grande ascolto. Grazie Maestro.
OMG.......fantastic playing. One of the best i ever heard. Thank you.
I keep on coming back to this, for more.

An exciting performance! Bellmore, NY, USA
Fantastisch, Herr Scott!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Outstanding performance -bravo !
What a spectacular combo of musical viruosity & Cathedral "touring"! BRAVO!!!
Absolutely fantastic version! Totally loved it!
That was wonderful - I saw the title and thought, "hmmm, I don't envision that working on the organ" - and I sit here now dazzled.
And it certainly does work ... brilliantly
Check out all of his transcriptions. 99% of them work. He is in the top ten of organists. Such a talent.
Same thought many many years ago!
"The World Steel Band Festival playing Rimski Corrakov "Sharrazad" sorry on spelling.
Jonathan Scott your an amazing organist you play lots of amazing organ solo's that inspires me! thank you so much! your a great man
That works beautifully on the organ. Great arrangement and sound!

Absolutely stellar transcription, it does sound like this is the way this piece should always have been played.
Jon Scott wasn't in the radar when Rossini created it. Nothing I have seen in my 80 years has heard/seen his talent on the pipes.
Beautiful rendition. Thank you.
A great piece of music skillfully played. Brilliant!
Made my day this did. What a star he is and who are those 7 wankers who gave it the thumbs down? Miserable sods.

Wow it's beautiful
Nothing quite like a lovely organ and this was fantastic to listen too
LOL, sounds like music at a carnival!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂

And another grand organ arrangement of another wonderful piece from Rossini.
I didn’t want the song to end i was so captured by it!!
Sound perfect on the organ!
Awesome love this piece and his technique. he is really playing the king of instruments and utilizing all the manuals at his disposal. Great Job!
