Pre-loved clothing, shoes, and toys are probably the area where we are able to impact the environment the most. I've even given Cyrus Christmas gifts that were hand-me-downs from friends--the kids don't care if the toy is new or not! The impact of so many small choices over time can become a great impact indeed!

Totally agree. It also just saves so much money too. 😀

Great ideas! Can totally relate to everything you say in this video!
Some things that we also do is toy and books rotation (so we don't need to buy new ones all the time), swaps with baby friends (so they can have new books to expand the vocabulary without actually buying them), using recyclabels for toddler arts and crafts activities. Other small one is that I collect all the soap rests and melt them and make new soap in small forms that fits little hands (very special for my daughter and also uses up all the soap bar rests) and also teaching early to not let the water run.
The biggest impact on raising eco-conscious children is modelling said behaviour I think. If we as parents treat the nature and things we own with love and care they deserve and are content with what we have than this will translate in our kids as well.
    I absolutely loved the video!

What brilliant ideas Maria! I will definitely try the soap suggestion too. You are so right that the most important thing is that we should be the best models for our children - here's hoping we can make sure the world remains as beautiful for future generations.

Pre loved is such a sweet way of putting it 😍
I didn’t even think about breastfeeding as being eco friendly, that’s so true ♻️
The best blended food I ever made for Leo was a roast dinner with home made gravy it was so nice as purée 😅
Buy skipping the plastic plates you also get away from micro plastics that flake off into our food & down the drain 😬 great tip ♻️
The small bath is so cute and a great idea 💡
You always have so many wonderful tips 😊♻️❤️

Hi, I absolutely love this video and it's such an important topic too! We are pretty big on reusable cloth nappies, investing in quality toys that will grow with the kids and being outdoors and really getting kids to appreciate and love nature. Also, totally agree with breastfeeding, my kids are only breastfed :) We are also "sort" of vegan, and I mean "sort of" because we do eat eggs, but other than that we don't consume meat or dairy products.
I love this, thanks for sharing this!

Reducing meat is also a great way to have an impact! Super suggestion. We are so lucky that our neighbours have very well cared for hens in their garden and we get them 'delivered' to us on a regular basis. I think that's the most local we can go. 😂 Delighted to hear you share the same ideas. Breastfeeding also just makes life so much easier! ❤️

Great ideas. We did/do most of these although we had to use bamboo cups or now sippy cups etc as my little boy cannot be trusted even at 2 he is obsessed with tipping water on the floor although he has stopped throwing things so hopefully soon we can use glass etc. One thing we have recently started using and love is a toy hire subscription from Whirli. This means we can change our toys around without having to buy or store to many. Also some of the open ended toys my daughter loved at 2 and still likes at 7, like duplo, blocks, tiles etc my 2yr old just isn't interested in at the moment, so we can find things that he likes that maybe she doesn't have.

Hehe. We are lucky that Ben doesn't try to pour the water. The toy hire subscription looks great. I'll definitely look into that as it sounds super and like you can find things for your little boy that way. Thanks so much for sharing. ❤️
