in general I love and appreciate your videos but lately your videos on solar generators sound more like commercials than reviews. If you like to stay with your honesty and integrity that I know you have, you should display and specify clearly before the review that these units were sent to you free for you to own for free, so these videos are sponsored videos by the companies that are making these items.
Daniel, that is true and hence it says paid promotion. But everything that makes it on my channel is pre tested. There are many items declined and sent back. Only items I would own or I think are good enough for the asking price and build make it on the channel.
You have expensive products and budgets units. There is something for everyone.
Power stations can be a little harder to review because so much data in them.
Battery capacity and how well is the inverter efficiency so I try to get as much info as I can for everyone.
This tested well. And even my friends Todd and Jason so far have agreed this is a darn good unit. I prefer this unit over the delta 2 max and even bluetti ac200max.
It’s not just me saying it.
There is a lot of compiled data to make these and again, if they fail or don’t meet the basic expectations I tell the companies hey, there is an issue. Fix it and come back.
Like the Anker solix 3800. All 3 of us said no. I have said no to jackery for ever but may check out the new one which seems to do ok.
Said no to super base V until they have the issues fixed which I think they have now.
I don’t try to advertise just give everyone the info that I have found to see if it will be helpful for the viewers to make a better decision.
Is there anything you would like to see different when it comes to power stations reviews ?
Thanks
Johnny
Looks like a solid unit. With the discount, it would be tempting to get this. I hope new products like this will add competition and drive prices down. 🤠👍🇺🇸
You’re right Jeff, more and more competition will bring prices down. 👍🏼
Everyone is jumping on this game.
UGREEN- a name UCAN trust.
Nice review! Can it solar charge while powering the AC outputs simultaneously. If so it would make an amazing device for us in South Africa with our loadshedding power issues.
Yes!
Would be nice to see a 30a outlet for RV's. I know there are 15/20a adapters, but . . .
This doesn’t have 240v, and it can’t do 30a at 120, so there is no point
AC and solar charge times would be nice to know.
It charges around 1700 watts roughly so it will fully charge in 1.5 hrs.
If full solar at 1200 ish then about 1:45mins give or take.
All depends how much is coming in.
It has a slow charge as well at 600 watts ac
What is the heater you used?
Diesel heater here..amzn.to/3tMDBxS
Thank you for this review I have been researching for months and right now I’m torn between the ugreen power roam 2200 with x 1 solar panel ($1460) and the anker solis C1000 with X1 solar panel ($870) in Japan. Can you please toss in your 2 cents ? 😂
I prefer the UGREEN my self.
great video. i may have missed this info, but does this unit have pass through technology?
Yes it does 👍🏼
@@johnnysweekends thank you for taking the time to answer :-)
Just so people know, there is a phone app for this so you can control it remotely if you wish. I like it very much, but I may wait until the price comes down a little more.
My solar set up is not Anderson Pole. It looks like a good unit and all the assessories.
These are not Anderson solar setups either. That’s only a dc out.
Hello, are you able to set the ca charging power?
Ac charge speeds? If so yes there is some adjustability
yes charge speed. On phone application or on the device? Thanks
Hi. Can you please tell me if this charging station can work with the coolers off up to a certain load if yes up to how many watts? Or do the coolers work and can be heard even if the load is 200W?
I assume you’re talking about the fans, if so it’s pretty quiet and it really doesn’t start making noise until around five or 600 W from what I remember although just to be noted it’s possible this unit could be discontinued as they are not gonna make the extra batteries from what I’ve heard through rumors Still a really good unit and I was impressed with it along with other reviewers.
@@johnnysweekends Yes you are right about the fans. We have occasional blackouts and I need a silent charging station for two computers (~200W total).
@@johnnysweekends Do you remember if it has a “pass-through mode” when the current goes directly from the mains to the appliances without discharging the battery in UPS mode? Many stations even though they allow to use them as UPS, but periodically recharge the battery a couple times a day, which is bad for the battery life
@VamIy yes im pretty sure it does but its been a while I would have to double check the video lol
I needed a usb port with 23.5...........I guess the 22.5 will have to do, lol
lol you won’t notice one watt…! 😂👍🏼
I've never EVER seen a Power station with Half watt percentages on them, thats what I was getting at, I think it's kind of silly, They should of just put 22 watts on it and called it a day@@johnnysweekends
Be nice to run one and use an oil filled radiator off it for free. Perfect in the usa but useless in the uk
Great review as usual, but it seems that everyone and their brother in China is making these devices and shipping them to America. Here's my concern if or when things go hot with China and Taiwan and America is pulled into the conflict, what will go with these companies. If something goes wrong with the unit, then what. Paper weight, or repairable?
I hear ya. Many people are just like us. Creating products and doing business and just wanna live. Government and giant corporations are the ones screwing it up. Moving everything over seas, turning people against people.
There is no way to know. Do you sit and worry and or do and live. Everyone has been waiting for the big wars or disasters but all you can do is get some items to be ready and move on.
Most countries do not want big war. It doesn’t benefit anyone in the long run
I need to find a solar generator that can run my RV (30A 120vac)
There are many. I have ran several on my Rv and still do.
👍🏼
@@johnnysweekends From what I've seen, solar generators aren't at the point where it's economical to run the AC and all appliances. Seems the power draw (3200watts) isn't sustainable with solar unless you have a ton of solar panels.
Or maybe I've missed something.
@MotFPS it all depends what you are trying to do. I have used my delta pro to run my main AC in the Rv for hours at a time. But I also have 2000 watts of solar so im using what im generating. With this setup i have ran both AC units for hours at a time. But again it depends how you camp, where you camp. If its 110 outside and both ACs are running most any system will over heat. But even a gas generator can as well. I normally escape very hot areas, so I only have to run the small AC or maybe for a few hours in the evening. I can also regen power with any generator and fill battlers back up. I run my fridge on AC while I drive, used small heaters, kettle pot and coffee pot no problem…..Tv before it broke. The more you get into this, the more you stop using a generator all together except for long runs of AC during day and night. But no one should use a gas generator just to watch tv or run a coffee pot real quick. So many quick simple options for that now. It truly has changed the way you camp. Again, where and how plays a big factor.
Are those solar connectors sold separately?
You mean the cables? Or the mc4 or this extension amzn.to/404Ssjf
@@johnnysweekends- no the little dongle you have to connect the solar to. The little box. Combindee box from ugreen?
@1ENDUSER I don’t see that as a separate item. May have to reach out direct
@@johnnysweekends - ahh ok
I just got a reply email from them. No go, not sold separately.
Is this so new you can't get the expansion batteries yet?
Correct. The batteries were not completed and are in final testing and will be available in January.
Do you know if they will have added ports for charging etc like some other expansion batteries?
@briandodds I heard there is some functionality but just not sure what yet.
The best "power station" is called a generator. Preferably a Honda. 😉
lol well these are meant to compliment. No reason to run a Gen now for watching tv or make coffee and more. But always have one on the ready ! 😁
The only thing you need to know is if you can pick it up it's crap, all these companies pushing these "power stations" which in reality are nothing more than glorified phone chargers. Build your own, I have 3* 200 amp lithium batteries, a 3000 watt pure sine wave inverter, 600 watts of solar and a 500 watt wind turbine. I had a power outage in February that lasted over 2 day and I successfully
ran the house basics with my setup. Ignore the bell and whistles, battery capacity is where it's at.
Building your own definitely has benefits. Which is normally cheaper and you get a larger system for the price. But they are getting cheaper to where diy plus your time is so close. But also have to remember alot of people don’t know how to do them on their own. So a ready kit is what’s best for them.
