I love the fact that she puts the words and emotion ahead of purity of vocal line. She brings out colours and texture I have never encountered in the song before. Was it the perfectly sung as an art song? No. Was it authentic to the moment and thus beautiful? Absolutely.
That's notable when I saw her in Kimberly Akimbo. Yes, she has a great voice. But her delivery of lines as well as music is pitch-perfect and organic. She's a total star.
I was blown away. Bonnie has such amazing control of her voice. And the emotion she puts into every syllable. A singer can make a perfectly written song sound amazing every time. But it takes a true artist to hold you spellbound while they create an entire world of wonder and feeling.

Nothing can ever be "perfectly" sung, because perfection is an illusion that artists(and others) chase in vain. It simply isn't possible.
