We have for you the full race in the 100m breaststroke and the award ceremony! The gold medal went to Lydia Jacoby with an incredible time of 1:04.95. Second place went to Tatjana Schoenmaker with 1:05.22 and the bronze medal went to Lilly King with 1:05.54. This race promises a lot of excitement. Have fun watching!

I will never forget watching this live. Screaming at the TV once I saw Jacoby catching up to the leader and taking the lead. Absolutely amazing moment for her. 🇺🇸
Ok, I know Tatjana was the favorite and expected winner but Lydia was the Olympic gold medalist here. Why did all the cameras focus on Tatjana after the race?
Maybe Lydia had another race coming up, so she went inside quickly??
I think they set up the family camera and all that ahead of time. The US media coverage through NBC was all eyes on Jacoby after this event though
LYDIA HADNT WON AN INTERNATIONAL RACE BEFORE THIS. She wasn't even the fastest USA competitor - up to this race. Absolutely the cameras should have remained on the winner - Jacoby. World record time. Gold medal swim.

Wow what an amazing race. And another Tokyo replay post from within a week. That's more amazing.
Schoenmaker and King have the same style breaststrokes, a very “vertical” style with their heads bopping up and down through the water as they go through their strokes. Jacoby, on the other hand, has a much more “horizontal” style, lower down into the water. That style of Jacoby’s seems well-suited for sprinting at the end of a race.
with a vertical style u can push ur body way further/better than with a horizontal style therefore better for sprints...
