I COMPLETELY missed this! + I was almost too late to get these LOW-MINT 2023 King Charles III rolls!

- A viewer pointed out that there's a (somewhat, but not exactly) hidden compartment in my Mint Special Wrap Roll set that contains the Certificate of Authenticity. There were only 15,000 of these sets available. Since all of the sets are numbered, I found out just how close I was to missing out completely!

Wow 😮
So great that you were able to get a copy of the limited edition set. These items don't stay on the shelves very long!
For sure - I'm really glad I didn't miss out on this year, in particular. Thanks for watching!
I wonder if the lower the number the better the strikes. cool
That's possible. The coins struck first with those dies should be nearly perfect. I'd be interested to know how many die pairs will actually be used for this mintage.
Congrats again on you set!
Thanks again!
Nice. I have 06954 and 00128 sets. Bought on the same date.
Interesting! A very low number and one in the middle. Seems like the numbers might be random... Thanks for letting me know!
Wow, so close to missing out on making 2 awesome videos about KCIII coins!
Lol!
Thanks for pointing it out. I got 11,862.
Thanks for chiming in!
Glad I could point that out for you :) I got 2 sets the day they dropped on the 15th of Nov. I got numbers 5773 and 8606. The one you got was one of the closest serials to the end of a set I've seen.
Thanks again! I can't believe I didn't notice it! Did you order them both at the same time, or as two separate orders?
@@CADRollHunter at the same time and they came in together for me.
Nice! I was wondering about the C.O.A. on that. I just thought it was maybe part of the outer wrap, and you didn't bother with it.
Lol! I just missed it completed and didn't even think about it!
12729....and I only ordered them after viewing your video on King Charles coin rolls. Cheers
Interesting! Thanks for sharing!
@@CADRollHunter Of course I got the first strike 50 cent roll as well.
Congrats on your set! Btw, the coins are making their way into bank rolls now. I exchanged some of my rolls for new rolls at the bank today, and fortunately, all 9 were ARP. I could see 3 enders were 2023. It turns out I got 21 2023 nickels.
I never thought I'd wanted to hunt ARP nickels again... maybe now's the time!
I ordered my set November 15, 2023 and it finally arrived mid January. Certificate # 6206. My understanding is the numbers are somewhat random but I may be wrong. Beauty of this set is being able to display the rolls in a case without the added height of the box.
Thanks for sharing, Peter! I hadn't thought about the fact the tray itself can be used to display them without the full case! The numbers may well be random. But whoever got #15,000 will wonder how close they might have been to missing out!
I think the Purple Set 2023 Queen Elizabeth will be the rare unicorn, only 7000 sets produced
Agree with you but very few people even know about it. So I’d bet that in about 20 years, the low mintage numbers will start to get popular.
I got a roll of $2 for a pretty damn good price (not much above FV)
It would make an interesting experiment to take a roll of these first strikes and have each coin graded. Being first strikes and the dies are new there is a possibility of grading MS64+ or higher on some. THen you could sell off individual coins as you have connections with a coin club. Subscribers too may buy them. I've seen toonies non graded but deemed MS63 listed for $5.75 per coin.
It would be an interesting, if expensive experiment! I can get coins bulk-graded for $10 each, plus tax, so that would add up. But, if you could find an MS-68 or better in there, well, it might pay for the whole lot! But then again, the prices for high grades will be kept lower since so many will be in a mint state.
@@CADRollHunter You could make a fun video of opening a roll of loonies for example and individually placing them in flips and numbering the flips. But prior to that place each coin onto that nice scope and go over each coin to get an idea of how it will fair when graded.and make a list of each flip and the grade you would assign it. Then have the coins sent to ICCS then when you get them back you could do a comparison video from what you thought each was to ICCS grading. Break it up into several parts. To reduce costs you could send in the top ten coins you deem as MS64 + and sell the rest at MS 63. I like many others are curious as where do MS68 coins come from. If you are successful with ten coins you may wish to send the remainder in for a follow up. I have doubts on how coins are graded especially when dealing with coins directly from the RCM. I know it mean opening a first strike roll but it may prove enlightening. Cheers!
I'll have to think about that!
Very interesting! Thank you for sharing.
Any idea when the mintage numbers will be out for KCIII coinage? A year or 2, perhaps? Thanks again!
That's a great question. We might not know for a couple of years. Hopefully we'll find out in their next annual report.
@@CADRollHunter Thank you! Take care.
I opened the set upsidedown by accident so i saw that compartment first
Edit: i missed the mintage number, my coins are at another location, next video you post after ive been to that location ill post my mint number
Oops!! Hope everything was alright! Thanks in advance for letting us know your #!
Mine are 8689 and 8690 I do believe without digging them out lol
Nice - consecutive!
LOL. How did you miss that? All those sets lift up and your certificate of authenticity is under it. It's designed like that so you can display the set standing up.
I know, right?! This was the first time I'd ordered one of these sets, so I had no idea. It was only later when I was having a closer look that I discovered it! I should have looked more closely!
I literally bought this set after your last video. I noticed they were out at the mint and other places but found one a Canada Coins. One left, got it. I'll let you know what number it is after I take apeek...thanks for the video.
That's great! They're going for $300+ on eBay! You lucked out!
Yeah, I saw that even circulated single coins are going for 3x fv...@@CADRollHunter
I missed out on getting them from the mint but I found a site that has the set and the 50 cent roll for $300 with taxes included and free shipping, I'm just not sure if its worth it or not at that price.
It's hard to know how much highter that price will go, or what the individual coins might end up going for. Let us know what you end up doing!
I've always wanted one of those sets, but considering that I'm from the Philippines, the RCM website doesn't ship here. Overall, congrats on your C-III-R 2023 set!
Even if they did ship... the cost would be insane! But, I suppose you never know what might show up in a local coin shop in your area - stranger things have happened!
@@CADRollHunter yeah. No one knows what might come out on my coin shop or on some of the local coin groups that I am at on Facebook.
I, too, missed out on this.
Have found a few in the wild so far. Is there any idea how many were let into the business side? I haven't come across a loonie yet.
I haven't heard any numbers at all on these ones!
Well I missed out on this set, but I did find a first year nickel for the last king today! 😂
That's a great find!
@@CADRollHunter Another funny one was a 1952 that was incredibly worn. I tried to pop it in a Whitman and it just rattled around in the hole. I think it might be an AG-3. 😆
Wow!@@TheWinstonDouble that one's seen some action in its day!
I Got 11438
Thanks for letting us know!!
Sometimes it "pays to be lucky".🎉🎉🎉❤😊
Yup! I'm glad I got it. These sets are going for about $300 Canadian on eBay at the moment!
I had the chance to buy the set and my dumb ass didn’t buy it
I've got a few regrets myself!
Woah, your mintage number isn’t that far off of ours. Wanna be mint buds?
Lol! What number did you get?
@@CADRollHunter it took me a while to look it up, but I’m 3 after you. 14481!
