    @ 10:43, Where that hose passes through that cutout, as the engine vibrates and suspension jolts, over time, that metal may cut right into it. I'd put some rubber lining on that cutout to be safe. Some kind of foam perhaps?

      Thanks for the tip, I like the idea of adding some rubber there.

    Hopefully you got the k tuned swivel housing with the oem t stat that closes off the idle coolant bypass. You will have temp issues if you didnt use that oem tstat.

    • @e-dod

      I got the hybrid racing swivel housing. It uses an OEM style thermostat. I have driven the car a few times now and it is able to maintain 185 on a hot day.

    Where did you get the adapter fittings for the firewall, compressor, dryer? And what size are they?

    • @e-dod
      @e-dod  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I actually got a full tuck kit from dc5creations. But it didn't fit with my full size rad so I made the custom lines. But I still used the adapter fittings from the dc5 kit. I would reach out to him and see if he will sell just the fittings. Or maybe try this kit:

    @6:19 you show a 180-degree fitting coming off the dryer. but that's not listed in your parts list. did it come from the same source?

    • @e-dod
      @e-dod  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it came from cold hose. I ended up not using that fitting. I bought lots of extra fittings but only listed the ones I used.

    Did you use a K24 AC compressor? I've seen the hybrid kit, but it says you have to use an RSX compressor. I've thought about doing some custom lines, so this video is insightful! Also, where did you get the custom condensor?

    • @e-dod
      @e-dod  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The custom condenser was from Dc5 Creations. I am using an RSX AC compressor. It bolts up just fine. The pulley is smaller then a K24 compressor so it is spinning faster then intended. Will see how that works in the long run.

    Gonna attempt to do this on a 92 prelude do u think the firewall fitting would be the same or maybe I should get an adapter for an integra

    • @e-dod
      @e-dod  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      pretty sure 92 was still r12 so these adapters would not work.

    • @e-dod
      @e-dod  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bf_k24 Thank you! How can I know if the block is RAA? I see k24a stamped on the block. I got it dynoed in one of my older videos. It made just under 200hp on a very hot day. I think if I got it re-tuned on a cooler day I could get 200.

    Hey how did you pick the adapter fittings for your firewall and compressor? I've got a 2g dsm that I want to make a custom AC setup for just like you have for your civic.

    • @e-dod
      @e-dod  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They were listed for my car (95 Civic). I got mine from DC5 Creations. I wish I could give you some better info since that's the hardest part about doing a custom AC setup. Some cars you can find universal fittings for and it does not have to be car specific. For example, I am planning to do this on my 88 Mustang and I was able use spring lock fittings for the firewall, an aftermarket compressor that uses standard fitting sizes, an aftermarket condenser and aftermarket filter drier.

    • @e-dod
      @e-dod  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is also compression fittings: coldhose.com/collections/compression-fittings. Not sure how reliable they are, I have never used them. If you want to share some measurements I can see if any of the fittings I used would work.
      EDIT: check this out: www.aircomponents.com/product/compressor-fitting-adapter-custom-ls-manifold-high-side-fix/
      They say they can do custom fittings!

    • @fireballmx
      @fireballmx ปีที่แล้ว

      @e-dod Wow, I wonder if the DC5 Creations kit for the evo has the same compressor and firewall fittings. I'll have to measure the compressor manifold(s) in a little bit. That custom fitting option might be the easier solution tho, thanks for the help!
