    I bought a brand new 2023 Honda Civic Touring sedan in January. It’s an automatic, 1.5 turbo w/CVT. Honda has gone back to their design roots. The 11th gen design is just beautiful. I love the understated, polished exterior and semi-luxury interior. Mine is meteorite metallic gray with a two-tone black/gray interior (but looks ivory to me). It was definitely pricey for a Civic but I’m super happy with it. Understated yet very classy, with Honda reliability.

    I love my sport touring! I have the pearl white with the grey interior. I definitely think that the lighter interior makes it feel much brighter and classier of an interior. I have had no issues with anything and everything looks awesome. I have gotten 39 MPG with the CVT on the highway, very impressive!

    • @effend446
      @effend446 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Honda CVT's actually do not suck. In fact (with proper maintenance), Honda's present-day CVT's have proven to be even more reliable than not only their early CVT's, but also their conventional automatic transmissions.
      Like Toyota, Honda has good engineers who learn from their mistakes.

      WOW, that's the same color exterior and interior I ordered. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of trust in the dealership. I was told in writing that it was built about a month ago and I could expect it to hit the dealership about now, or within about the next week, Earlier this week, the salesman finally wrote and said it was being built this past week and it would be another month. I am really ticked about this, but as you can probably guess, how much of a fuss can you make? This is NOT how cars should be sold and delivered. I'll let you know in about a month if it actually comes in or not. I have my doubts based on what has happened.
      Oh, and not long ago, they dropped the number of exterior colors and interior colors available in the build a Honda website.. Not sure if this was just a temporary thing or not. I had my heart set on the gray interior after seeing pics of it. Black interior is so common and boring as I see it. If they try to come along now and say I can't get the gray interior, I will be furious. I ordered this Feb. 28 and it sure was available at that time.
      Glad you are very happy with your choice and I hope I can say the same in a short time.

    I've owned 2 Civics over the years, an EX and a Si, and I loved them both. It has always been my 2nd fav compact car, right behind the Mazda3, but the Civic is the better bargain in my opinion. That said, I'm not crazy about Honda's move to only turbos on higher trims. I'd rather see a high revving naturally aspirated engine (maybe bring back the old 2.2) in performance Civics, but I know that ship has sailed.

    I've been considering buying a new Civic Si, but if I buy a new Civic I might opt for a Sport Touring with the manual instead. I'd like to have the additional features the Sport Touring offers over the US version of the Si, and I don't think I'd miss the additional power and LSD all that much. Also, I like hatchbacks. But what I'll probably do -- if I buy a Honda product at all -- is wait for the new Acura Integra and buy the top spec with the 6-speed manual. It could be $5K more than this Civic, but then I'd get the best of both the Si and Sport Touring, and in an even better looking car (in my opinion).

    • @notmethanks816
      @notmethanks816 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Or get a GLI and get everything you actually want without the compromise. Honda should offer their top trims with a manual. The people buying manuals today are NOT looking for bottom trim models. Honda does not want to cater to those of us who have money now and still want a manual. I will also hold judgment until the integra comes out, but I am still pretty sure the GLI is going to be a nicer overall package.
      Hello if I could get an A4 with a manual, none of these offerings would be interesting.

      As a follow-up to my comment a while back, I bought a new Civic Hatchback Sport Touring with 6-speed manual two weeks ago. I love it so far. To me this was a better choice for a daily driver and for trips with my wife than the Si, which lacks most of the creature comforts and some of the tech of the Sport Touring trim.
      What I would say to prospective buyers is to make your decision on what you value more - upscale features or driving dynamics. My car is fun to drive, but the extra hp, LSD, and stronger brakes of the Si are worth the trade-off in luxury features if you value driving dynamics more. The ride is fine in my car, especially for a compact car, but I'll be upgrading the rear sway bar soon to reduce body roll. I may upgrade brakes or at least brake pads at some point, too.
      I test drove the Integra a few times in the last couple years and liked it, and there have been a couple times in the last two weeks I thought maybe I should have bought the Acura instead, but the additional $5K for an A-Spec with Tech package to get the manual is a lot of money, and the upgrades from my ST to the Integra just weren't worth it to me at this time. I wanted a lower car payment than what I was making, cheaper maintenance, and better fuel economy. Also, it helped I was able to get my car in Boost Blue, which was a big factor. Maybe in a few years I'll upgrade to an Integra, or maybe a Type S!

    The juvenile look of the last gen, keeps me young. The center exhaust is very boy-racer and all the CUV dads on my block love it. Even my friend with the 6 series, which I can’t stand. I have the Sport CVT as I could not find a stick late in the model run. The car in sport mode blew me away! So fun! It has the in dash 8” entertainment screen and the stereo is very good for this non audiophile listener. At $25k it was hard to justify the +$5k for the Touring. I must say, I am a fan of the 10th gen car as it’s not another Audiesque mature jellybean. Still, very pleased that Honda has kept the hatch. Now they need a stick and a turbo in the regular Sport.

      Blue? You know that’s the worst color on a car. At least to industry insiders. Which I work with. Managers crap their pants when people come in to trade blue cars. They have a reputation of looking “cheap” all the bosses and executives say. Although good for young people. Anyways they are hard to sell so we don’t offer nearly as much money on trade for blue cars. The bosses always say uh oh here comes a “no sale blue car.” Manufacturers are cranking them out of course and colors are in these days so times are changing. My bosses have always been older white men. They just hate blue cars lol. The neutral cars seem to hold onto value tremendously.

    Love the Civic especially this design. But I’m still disappointed with how dirty they’re doing the American market when it comes to features for it in comparison to Canada, especially with the Si. Hopefully that will change for the next year.

    • @kevinnorris6558
      @kevinnorris6558 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't think it will change much but at the very least, they should add front heated seats, fog lights, the digital dash with shift lights, and dual zone climate control to the American Si. At least give us the features that we had in the last generation Si.

    • @ShodakonFury
      @ShodakonFury 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kevinnorris6558 well, my fingers are still crossed. But I agree as this year feels like a downgrade in comparison to the last generation and is EXTREMELY bare bones compared to the Canadian spec. I see plenty of previous gen Civic Si’s, hatches, and, sedans on the road, but have only seen two new gen Civics in total. While I feel that it’s because of dealership markups (since it is a horrible time to get a vehicle), I feel that the lack of features play a big role because there are other makes that offer similar performance for a similar price at similar trim levels, but have waaaay more in terms of accessories. This is especially true with new Hyundai Elantras, Toyota Corollas, and Mazda3 Hatchbacks that I see a ton of on the roads

Handling is decent but it gets unstable pretty easily when loaded in a corner. They are now asking over $39k CAD for it. As nice as it is, it's just not worth it.

    Honda manuals are kinda scary in my opinion cuz the reverse gear gate is right in “shift-motion-proximity” when going from 5th to 6th gear, in others words if you want to go into sixth then you could accidentally move the stick it a little too far to the right and throw it into reverse while going formidable speeds on a freeway 😨 I’ve personally never experienced that but it really scares the hell out of me when I drive my dads Honda Accord 2.0t with the manual 😭
