I had a similar story, met this lady that she told me she was on holiday in pattaya, working with a clothes shop online, she said she had university, no kids, no tatoos, on her 20s, people will say perfect, sharing the first meal, not having aerobics the same day..then with the time i realized all she said was a lie and good to me to stop in time (no university so could not work basically anywhere, money requests more and more, fake pics from hospital, debts every month to pay, shop not existent, battery dead in the nights out, every time i went home she went to pattaya always changing hotels every day or so, party and drink every night, found on dating apps looking for customers). Married 22 years with an Issan Thai, let's just say even after those years she still does silly "Thai" things often. She is great, we are doing well in our marriage. but know what you guys sign yourselves up for, its not a girl you marry its an entire culture you end up marrying.
My first was a Sakhon Nakhon province remote village and the people very respectful and non demanding. Myself being Buddhist I wouldn't call anything they do silly, other than actual silly things we do for fun, however it is proper to always give at funerals 100 baht to family and 100 baht to village insurance and they record it in the village books. Weddings just go with the flow and say 500 baht is lots.
Over time the relationship lost the romance and she wished me happiness to go find my life.
Now with a born Bangkok girl. That surprised me as never thought I would like bangkok. Maybe I just got too isolated in Isan as I was the only farang ? Anyways, both are extremely honest and caring, so although Dan has his audience and stories he focuses on, it is important to remember people like you and me find these wonderful partners in a thai woman 🙏

It is possible to find a good Thai woman but you need to be switched on, understand the culture, understand some of the language at least, understand the differences and learn to adapt, I can only share the stories I get sent in and even the positive ones end up being negative unfortunately, if a relationship is not based on money then as far as I am concerned then the relationship is real, of course it will still come with problems and if 2 people truly love each other they will stay together, learn each other and make each others lives more bright ✨

Accept defeat, retreat, lick your wounds, learn from your mistakes AND DON'T REPEAT THEM (as so many of us do...). Most of us would kill to be 28 again and living in Southeast Asia. Don't waste it getting dragged into some treacherous Thai chick's drama-filled and problem-ridden life.

I guess there are a few factors at play here. How low is this guy's self esteem? Not so great I'd suggest. If you continually return, only to be hurt and reminded of why you shouldn't be with your lady, then you are the problem. Not her. Sort your own issues out. Something is broken in you.
Can he handle her going off with other guys? Because she will never stop. She may take extended breaks, but she will always use her charms to get money. It's too easy for her. Such a person is never going to be someone you can trust. But, maybe that doesn't matter? Love fades, attraction declines/dies. What do they have in common? He mentions the physical a lot...but not much else. A relationship based on looks along will always end in disaster.
So, she may love him in her own way (but not in the way he wants). She can clearly separate her work from the intimacy she has with him (rather common for working girls, many of which have Thai boyfriends/girlfriends/husbands. They are wonderfully practical). But can he? Should he? He seems to have some romantic notions....but these don't last.
If i were him, I'd leave her. Find someone with an education and someone he can talk to about more than the relationship. Or he can accept her, as she says, go along for the ride, until the inevitable disaster one sunny day. Because the end will happen, sooner or later.

The golden rule is whoever has the gold rules...
I know it sounds like good sense, but it’s very hard to tell a guy not to try to get with the absolute prettiest girl he can attract. It almost sounds counterintuitive. We are literally programmed from little boys to try to get with the prettiest girl in the school, the prettiest girl at the church, the prettiest girl on the bus, etc. That’s almost an impossible thing to ask Amanda to do, to purposely get with women less attractive than what’s available to him. True, they are available to him because of his money, but there’s still available to him.
Of course, personality and character needs to be taken into deep consideration, and if a slightly less attractive girl is genuinely into me and has better character than a more attractive girl, I would choose the first one. However, all things being equal it’s very unrealistic to tell a man not to get as pretty a girl as he can attract.
I think a different strategy should be employed. I think men should try to date as many attractive women as possible at one time, so he can have a smorgasbord of attractive women. If being in places like Thailand, allow men to date women, they could never hope to get back home, then get 10 of them! This will allow a man to get used to the idea of being around beautiful women, and not be as affected by them. This will also give him enough women to sort through, to possibly find one that’s actually into him. No one is going to find the right woman with the very first girl they date. Date 10 or 15 beautiful women, and choose from a healthy selection. If all of them suck, dump them all and get you another 10. Stop hyper focusing on one girl in freaking Thailand! Until she proves herself!

The most messed up part of this tale is, the freelancer is probably being somewhat honest in not seeing a problem with freelancing while having a "boyfriend'. Leave this woman. Dan is right, she’s just using you for security, don’t date out of your league. She already told you that you aren’t good looking. I consider myself average looking, good income, average build with a good personality. I have a BS and MS in Physics and a high intellect, so I’ve always been able to date 7s, 8s and 9s from multiple ethnicities ever since I was in high school. I’m currently engaged to an Asian girl that is a 9 and she’s incredibly sexually attracted to me. Raw sexual attraction is a key. If a girl is extremely attracted to you, she will break rules for you and be naturally drawn to follow your lead/leadership (this is super important). The next key is being superior to her in almost every category except “looks”. I would give myself a 6 in looks. You don’t have to physically be a 9 to keep a 9, but she must feel strong sexual attraction for you and see you as superior. Also, most of her friends, relatives and family must see you as dominant or superior. This feeds her ego and justifies an age gap (my fiancé and I have a 20 year age gap) or a “looks” gap. Find a girl that meets the basic criteria above for starters. NEVER and I mean NEVER give time to a girl or entertain a girl that isn’t extremely sexually attracted to you. You can see it during your very first interaction and in subsequent interactions. All women like security and money, worldwide… but these things will be secondary to a girl that is attracted to you. Important, but secondary.

15000 baht isn’t even a regular job. Just one short time 6 days a week is at least 24k. Throw in some over nights per week and if she has a few sponsors she’s making way more than this dude.

I read on the US State Department website that most US expat deaths in Thailand are from suicide, drowning and traffic accidents. I'm thinking that many of these suicides may have happened because of men falling in love with bar girls and freelancers.

Freelancers have feelings too ya know 😁. . She might like you.. but you will need to accept her line of work, or be willing and able to pay her a LOT more per month than 15,000.. But generally, the advice is to 🏃♂️.. as this will end terribly, eventually

This channel should be a mandatory class for all foreign men who travel to Thailand or heading to move there. Men who travel there and keep giving money or salaries to these women are being played and not helping any future traveler.
