My gf and I went to the hotel and waited around. The entire Wabo band was there bs'ing with everyone. We sat down at the bar and Sammy walked in. He was only there a minute before he kicked out the bartender and started making everyone waboritas. My gf and I got so drunk we had to get a room there, it was over $500. I had to max out my first credit card on 1 hotel stay. Through all the penalties and late payments that night cost me thousands. I will never forget it. I met him a brief second a couple of years later and he signed the license plate on my Jeep.
I met Sammy and Michale several years ago, I think was in Santa Barbara in a concert fo Chiken foot and they are super guys, the level of energy around them is incredible!!

He's underrated in everything he does, Van Halen I didn't listen to until Sammy fronted the band man. you just cannot stop that voice. On his TV show he goes to Tommy Lee's house and they bang out Rock Candy (Montrose) I'm sure you know who was in that band. Mike is there also with them it's one of the best versions I've heard of that freaking song. There's a part when Sammy goes somewhere with his lady guitar, but him, and Tommy lock eyes and they both F*cking that smile is something only 2 rock God's understand, because it was saweeeeeet so damn good!!!! It's on TH-cam if have not seen it but you probably have. I watch it every month or so right along with Tom Petty, Prince Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame show which was so awesome

Sammy was my first concert (VOA tour) with Krokus as the opening act. At 15 I walked out of that show in a haze, just blown away! Been a Red Rocker ever since and seen him all over the country and Europe when I was in the Army. Its not just that he is still good, he is still doing it for the right reasons and loves his fans. Not because we are "paying his rent". ;)
