    I put some 50mm disc on my Allez Sprint comp last summer. Just love them. Love the way they look, sound, and perform. I use them daily hard and fast with no issues thus far. About to pull the trigger on another set for bike II. ;)

      I’m considering these for my Trek Domane SL4. Do you think these are a good option for a bike that will be going up and down hills in town, and occasionally on gravel?

    • @henrychungfitness

      @@GFCoyleWVU that’s exactly what I use mine for. Commuting with some small hills and also gravel trails 👌

    Super team carbon clinchers rock! Everyone who I've recommended these wheels and bought them have agreed. They are light, fast and hold speed well. I've really noticed a difference riding in the draft at over 20mph. That's when you really see the performance. Great looking wheels

    • @henrychungfitness
      @henrychungfitness  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agreed! I’ve been commuting with them lately over bumps and gravel etc and they’re still going strong and fast 🤙

      @@henrychungfitness create more! Btw, how do you deal with loud hub? Is it too loud for you or you like it?

    • @henrychungfitness
      @henrychungfitness  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VincentForDesign I actually like the louder hub sound. People can hear it better than a quieter hub, so it could be said that it’s safer out on the road. Similar to loud pipes save lives on motorcycles 😂

    Do they make that cool sound when braking? Rim brake carbon wheels sometimes sound like a jet engine winding down.

  • @youarevictoria4981
    @youarevictoria4981 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for this. I have the same setup (even the ultra sports) out in Victoria, but with only a few weeks on them. I think that they are not as good in the rain as aluminum. I will have to learn to stop less.

    • @henrychungfitness
      @henrychungfitness  ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed, I don't ride often in the rain, but when I do it's definitely not as great stopping power. Best to brake earlier!

    • @robertschlumpberger22
      @robertschlumpberger22 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Superteam has released their new rim brake with what they are calling K-Brakeline brake pad tracks. They bring faster stops, cooler rim temps, and (possibly) better wet stopping power than the standard basalt tracks. The brake track design sort of borrows from slotted automobile design.

    Hi Henry. Thank you for the content. Are you using the brake pads that were provided or ones that could be bought separately (Swiss Stop, Shimano, Enve, Reynolds)?

    • @henrychungfitness
      @henrychungfitness  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m using the stock pads that came with the wheels. Still plenty of material left which means I need to go chase some descents more 😂

    Great review! Quick question, what maintenance have you done to them to keep the braking surface in good condition? Thanks for your response!

    • @henrychungfitness
      @henrychungfitness  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for watching! To be honest nothing really 😂 just make sure to check your brake pads and ensure they’re cleaned so there’s no dirt/debris that could wear the rim surface

  • @finishwellendurance8868
    @finishwellendurance8868 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Which rim profile are these? It looks like they have a 23mm wide V shaped profile, but also a wider 25mm profile in the more modern toroidal shape (each in 50mm). Thanks!

    • @henrychungfitness
      @henrychungfitness  ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe they're the 23mm profile, which I don't see on their website as they might be an older model now (available on Amazon and AliExpress).

    • @henrychungfitness
      @henrychungfitness  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven’t done anything to balance them yet. You’re right, they seem well balanced even after 3 years (I did a basic check relative to the brake pad). I’ve been riding them through some pretty rough gravel lately so they might need some adjustment now 😂

    Hello! Just wanted to ask how you're getting along with the sirocco mini clip on bars. Are they adjustable, usable, comfortable?

    • @henrychungfitness
      @henrychungfitness  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't really been able to use them outdoors yet with the winter season in Canada. They're not the most adjustable since they're either stem or handlebar mount (I've switched to handlebar mount for greater stability and longer reach). The armpads are 2 positions with an offset of about 15mm. Looking forward to testing them out on the road in a month or so!

    • @henrychungfitness

      I do use the provided brake pads. They stop quick enough for my purposes, but definitely not as quick as aluminum rims. I’ve heard good things about Swiss stop brake pads though!
