      Since when has not having a nose become fashionable
      I absolutely love seeing drag queens intentionally over contour their nose to the point that it looks sharp like a knife. I know exactly what they're riffing off

      I much prefer a kiss of bronzer on my nose for everyday makeup. And very minimal contouring when I do. I don’t think people are taking their own nose shape and size into account when they contour. They just recreate the same two lines and a circle they see everyone else do.

    A tip from a Korean makeup artist which stood out to me is that on special occasions we should try to strive for more timeless makeup looks and not what's currently trending because you are going to look at these pictures years from now in the future and you are going to notice how outdated it looks.

Yes he gets sassy sometimes, but so has James, and if you've ever watched the twins Channel where they're together, he's actually very silly and a big old teddy bear inside. Watch him interact with his dogs, or listen to him talk about people who are going through a hard time, and he's the sweetest. I used to think that he was the mean one, because he's got that sassiness, but if you notice it's always about people who give out bad information or say things that are nonsense about makeup to a large audience that believes them. If you had to constantly get questioned about these stupid trends that make no sense, or the stupid makeup hacks that make no sense, you would probably get sassy too

For my posts on IG I definitely do it different than I would, if I’d go out. At this point I also don’t really like to see, when people does those kind of editorial makeups, but then skips editing the photos part, which is, imho, quite an essential part of the process to show off the work properly. I’ve spoken to people who are wondering “why these or that people’s works looks outstanding”, and I’m, like: “Editing those works matters. And lighting also matters. Also you should remember that it all never looks the same in natural light.”

Also a lot of times, they put out either misleading or false content and posts about makeup only fitting for one face shape: their own. As an Asian American who grew up with predominantly white makeup creators on TH-cam with no background of expertise, it's frustrating when they're telling you to do your makeup the same as them. Luckily, I did research of other Asian MUA to help me but it's disappointing to see the beauty community like this on tik tok & YT to this day, tho I'm grateful for others like you on the platform informing us on what's real.

I told her I'm In My 40s I don't want my wrinkles highlighted I want to conceal the bag the silly child who was 4 shades darker than me told me she used the really light one and it was fine. I didn't like overlining the last time around, and I continue to dislike it. Throw in excessive lip filler, where social media is concerned now, and 😭... it just looks so bad!

      @queenofwales_ 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      That overlined lip topic is such topic for some 10 years already. 😂 I dislike it so much (unless it’s done correctly, then it can be nice).
      Regarding the bronzer as a contour… to me personally it feels like I can’t really find a contour product. Mostly in the shops I see bronzers only. And even if I find a contour, it’s often anyway too warm for my cool toned fair skin. 😭 So, perhaps, that one is not always necessarily someone just using a bronzer for the wrong purpose - perhaps, the person couldn’t find a better / correct option. 👀

It doesn’t even have to be skill or talent in the area that they’re directly advertising - it could be editing skill - or they could be a good performer. But, when it feels like an influencer’s content lacks that flair in any noticeable way, it can be frustrating. Fr, fr, people need to start learning makeup FROM MAKEUP ARTISTS instead of internet influencers, most of them barely can make THEIR OWN face look good irl and their technique and "hacks" are shit 😭

      I just started doing makeup professionally and learned REAL quick just how much harder it is to apply on other ppl ..and now I cringe at all the "makeup artists" I watched ten years ago who only did makeup on themselves 😅 That's a fun hobby and all, but not being a mua

      the amount of “this is why [light] concealer looks bad on you” videos i’ve seen from non-professional makeup influencers pisses me off so much. they’ll blend their literal bronzer underneath their eyes and put non-lightened concealer on top of that to compare with the “old,” lighter version. they’re always like “see the difference it makes” and i’m like… yeah queen… the light concealer still looks way better 😭💀

    About the nose contour. I have seen some girls with a white stripe down their nose. It looks like my calico cat who has a white stripe down her nose. I tell her, you need to blend! Or, just the white shiny dot on end of nose looks like Rudolph the Red nose you know who.
