Isn't the correct fid length in relation to what size rope you're splicing? So this would be depending on what size rope you're splicing

Judging by the thickness of that rope model, it looks like it would be the 1/2" fid. I'm not sure why the he'll he wouldn't just say th a t in the video. I think it's because some fid brands use imperial and some use metric. THAT part is annoying AF!

He said one fid length was 10”. He repeats the part with the length when he is marking the third point
