Tomaso Albinoni is one of the best italian musicians in the 17th-18th Century. His musical phrase sounds always elegant and at the same time simple, creating a melody that does not leave the audience indifferent.
I am not a master of the differences between “true” Baroque interpretation of this music and less historically-informed performances, but I love the horn-like sound of the Baroque oboe.
Check out Jordi Savall. All of the musicians in both his chamber group, Hesperian XXI, and his orchestra, Le Concert de Nations, play on period instruments, including their recording of al Beethoven's symphonies. (Their treatment of the 7th is an absolute tour-de-force.).
