Honestly, I really don't like the fact that when it comes to Eurovision it's always about a formula to win it. Not just music, not just singing... Just like if the singer had the duty to "feed" the audience with much more than needed. How's that? The song it's good, he sings with passion and delivers the message. Nicely produced and well composed (awarded by the Orchestra for "Best Music Composition" at Sanremo Festival). My thinking is that there's really no need to overthink about what appeals to ESC more (you know what? Two names: Salvador Sobral - Måneskin) Marco can still change the song if he wants to but I wish he will stick to this because, what the actual heck, if people will judge the music, the emotion and the beauty of it all there's nothing to change here. Just my thoughs, thanks, grazie 🎶

This is my favorite this year... From the first hearing I am in love, it touched the musical strings in me that I can never name but I fall in love with what I listened to without memory 🤩
I'm happy that Marco is back to Eurovision. The 2013 contest was the first one that I watched live online! And of course, L'essenziale is an unforgettable song ❤❤
I can't be objective with Italy, I must admit. At the beginning if Sanremo, I wasn't thrilled. But Mengoni is a killer. I'm sold. The last renditions were volcanic. This moves me a lot. Together with Spain and France, this makes my current top 3. Hope he sticks to Due Vite. But he can surprise us with another instant classic.
Thanks for your video. Marco is the most beautiful male voice we have in Italy, he is known as a very sweet, sensitive and emotional guy, which makes him even more special. During the Festival he had a fever and sinusitis, despite this he sang wonderfully! ❤️ The songs presented in Sanremo are meant to be the best Italian song and not for Eurovision, where a different style often prevails, but this is real music and it could still win. The song is about the inner conflict we all struggle with, that's why he feels the song very much in his heart while singing it. The text speaks of two parts of the same person, the conscious and the unconscious that talk to each other, the life of dreams that collides with that of reality. Truly a deep and emotional meaning, a beautiful music that together with the text take the audience into a dreamlike scenario. Furthermore Marco is an excellent interpreter, this makes the difference and makes this song perfect, because he transmits all the emotions to the audience that watches and listens to him, even to a foreign audience that does not understand the Italian language and this says everything about what a great artist is Marco. Anyway I agree with you about his outfit, it's fantastic! Is Italian high fashion, they were inspired by the 90s Versace collection, because the chords of the song are 80s 90s style and so it's all connected and I would say very sexy too 😂
I did not know Marco M before at all, thus I have no past "burden" to compare. Anyways, this is my favorite of all entries to ESC 2023. To make a long story short: a handsome singer with magnificent voice performing in his native language a beautiful and the best melody of this selection, and I rest assured there will be a bit more power (I agree some more is needed) when the performance is shortened. Good luck and my best wishes from Finland.
I've had this song on repeat since it was released, completely in love with it (I like pretty much everything Marco does, so I am not objective in the slightest). I can see this song doing well at ESC. Obviously getting a new song, that would fit ESC better, is an easy rout. But that's what always made Italy so different - they don't pick songs just to fit the formula And how I wish the 3 minute rule was dropped
I can't believe I missed the premiere of this 😭😭 I love this song sm, Italy never disappoints, I've streamed thiß song sm since it got released, but I trust Marco whátever he decides to do I'm sure it will be amazing 😂❤️

I didn't want to like it, as the eternal hipster, because it is the obvious choice... But come on how can you not. It is such a beautiful song and he is an incredible performer. He has some really good uptempo songs too and it'd be fun to hear a bit of a banger from him, also I think Due Vite is perfect as it is and chopping off the 45 seconds may cause it to be rushed. I wouldn't want a new emotional ballad, something new would be fun. I'm sure he'll pull off whatever he'll do anyway, totally deserved Sanremo winner and I'm excited to have him back.
Also just as a side, the quality of Sanremo was INSANE this year. My favourite ballad was Tango by Tananai because I connect with the lyrics (bawling every time) but without understanding Italian Due Vite, Mengoni's voice still touches my heart. Cenere by Lazza went straight to my playlist, and so did a good few others. Loved Levante, loved Elodie, Colapesce Dimartino get me dancing, ARIETE, even loved the dead last Sethu
thanks for the reaction, Marco Mengoni like the Maneskin was launched by XFactor Italia years ago. he has a beautiful voice, I advise you to watch his performance in Sanremo in the evening of singing duets, he sang a beautiful version of let It be accompanied by an American or English gospel group, also, in my opinion, his best song is " hola I say" sung with Tom Walker, listen it's worth it, greetings from Italy by Alessandro 😁👍
Sanremo is the "festival della canzone italiana" it's not the "festival dei cantanti italiani". That means, the song won Sanremo, not Marco Mengoni. He should not pick a different song, that would not be fair.
Marco Mengoni was a guest on the news on the first national channel this evening and he said Due Vite is top lane for Eurovision, but he might actually opt for another song he wrote for his new album, so the decision is still up in his head
Really? But Eurovision TH-cam channel has already shared his Sanremo performance as Italy's entry. Until which date do the countries can change their songs for final?
That's the problem with Italy - they always bring _awesome_ songs with great lyrics that have a depth to them, that are full of poetry and meaning. And because nobody speaks Italian, nobody realizes this. Nobody understands what the song is about. And that always hurts Italy in the end. Eurovision needs to start putting supertitles over the performance stage, and/or help all of the member broadcasters translate the song lyrics into their local language so they can subtitle the semifinals and finals TV performances. This way, countries singing in their own language aren't hurt by that, while countries that keep sending lyrics that are an English-Phrase-Salad can just use their own language and write a song that actually makes some sense.
I like the song and undoubtedly his voice is amazing and he was my first choice to win Sanremo but, I still think that this year Italy needed something different, I think Lazza's Cenere would've been a great option
a generic EDM song that could have been produced by any Swedish artist, Europe wants more distinctive italian features in italian songs. Cebere would disappear among the EDM bops in ESC
I think it's okay so we don't have to satisfy the requests of others because we necessarily need something different ... which we have already done since 2011 onwards, bringing many genres, even the ballads are quite different from each other in terms of text, melody, composition etc.
This could be the last year Sanremo is managed by the national television. I hope that if someone else will gain Sanremo broadcasting they will divide the vote for Sanremo and the vote for Eurovision
First of all, it is absurd to think of a Sanremo away from Rai. These are just rumours because the high viewers fever. By the way, if a Sanremo by a private company could ever happen, the song for Eurovision must be chosen anyway by the national broadcaster, since Eurovision only concerns public televisions. Ciao!
The first time I heard this song to me it sounded like a resume of his earlier songs and I was a bit disappointed. And it is like a display of his singing skills. He is a great singer. He has so much more to offer than a classical Italian ballad. I am looking forward to what he is going to bring. Thanks for your comment. I enjoyed his concert in Amsterdam in 2019. We got to know him thanks to eurovision.
I think Madame's song wouldn't have been strong enough and she uses a lot of autotune which she couldn't have used at Eurovision so the song would have lost a lot
This is a well suited Sanremo song (and winner), not as suited for the Eurovision thou. Going to the ESC with "Due Vite" is playing it safe even if we've been rewarded more when we played it risky. However, whatever song may play I'm glad to have him representing us in the Eurovision yet again, he deserves this and he'll make us proud. 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
The fact is that Italy simply doesn't play (maybe sometimes in the not recent past, but not as much - anything silly, no gimmicks). Sometimes the song can be just more unusual, but nobody decided any strategy, especially when Sanremo get involved. What happens, happens.
Unpopular opinion - this is the type of song Italy has written over and over again. As someone who has been exposed to Italian music, I don't get the appeal. In Eurovision, we expect novelty but with Italy we always give a free pass. When Italy sent Maneskin and Mahmood (not with Blanco) they were handsomely rewarded. Please Italy, stop it with these recycled ballads.
Ds - The song is about the fight between conscious and unconscious of human being.Far from ricycle.. The fact is Sanremo festival doesn't select for Eurovision...that's the point. We vote what italian people likes. Otherwise we should have voted Colapesce e Dimartino or Lazza... or Elodie... or Paola e Chiara... take a look and you will see the novelty italian music ..from disco to rap..passing to '80 sound. Let me know.
@@mariofuccio1168 I always delve into the lyrics later ... For me, music is a sonic experience first and foremost. Last year we had Achille Lauro for San Marino, definitely much more edgy than Mengoni, but that didn't really get San Marino anywhere. I'll look into the other artists you mention. Having a contest which doesn't care about the festival is a good thing. Sanremo was never intended to be a Eurovision winner picker. I'm just not a fan of the old style Italian ballads, sorry, I just prefer when Italy sends something that crosses boundaries.
@@ds5379 I respect your opinion but i contest only when you say boring old. Gabbani, mahmood- soldi what were more fresh and different but did not win. So we send to eurovision what are emotions ,passions, essential to us in this historical moment.
@@mariofuccio1168 Gabbani got lost on me to be honest. Mahmood's Soldi came second.i was also in a beach bar in Greece the following summer and the song came on. It stayed on my playlist for a long time after the contest. It wasn't a song that died with the contest, and it wasn't a song that was liked only in Italy.
Agree. Sincere ballads from Italy are what we expect. Flawless in their own genre. But not like a smash hit. I was sold on Måneskin from the first second. And then they went on doing an epic Abba breakthrough. Huge!
I don't know... Marco's song just isn't working for me right now. I don't really know what I'm missing here, the song just isn't gripping. I heard someone mention the passion that he feels in the song, but all I hear is a grating voice! I generally liked L'Essenziale in 2013, and I'm still happy he's returning to Eurovision, but for goodness sake please change the song! :(
I hope Marco Mengoni sticks with Due Vite. Over the years Eurovision has become a bit of a joke with some silly novelty acts and ridiculous outfits. Marco Mengoni takes me back to the song contest when I was a child, when the songs were proper songs with melodies. Remember Volare in 1960, it came third but people all over the world still love it to this day, making it one of the all-time most popular songs to come out of Sanremo and Eurovision. I remember when Emma Marrone won Sanremo with Non e Inferno but she took a different song to Eurovision and failed miserably, yet anyone familiar with Emma's music knows that she has written and recorded many brilliant songs but God knows what happened when she went to Eurovision!
I agree that this song isn't strong enough... he's very good but we need a much more incisive and enthralling song. You should listen to more of his songs, such as "Guerriero" , "Esseri umani", "Pronto a correre" or even "Ti Ho Voluto Bene Veramente" (I Really Love You). I still hope that, regardless of the song he brings to the ESC, he can be appreciated as an artist.
The handsome Marco can sing & the song is a beautiful ballad. TBH, I prefer this song to last year's entry. I don't agree that a song is allowed to be changed after the artist has won their NF. A revamp is acceptable. My favourite song at San Remo Festival this year was Made it Italy by Rosa Chemical. It was fun, quirky, weird & too risque for Eurovision. My second favourite was Cenere by Lazza. Deban & William, if you get the chance, check them out. BTW, I hope you'll do reactions to FDC Portugal soon. Anxiously waiting for your reactions to my favourite song 'A Festa' by Edmundo Inácio. Greetings from Sydney, Australia. 🇦🇺🇵🇹🇮🇹
I wish it was Mr. Rain with "Supereroi" or Modà with "Lasciami".... Marco's "Due Vite" is good, quality song, but it just doesn't reach me, cannot connect with it....
This song does absolutely nothing for me, it's just the old basic Italian songs that always ends up in top 10 because it's Italy, even last year when their performance & vocals were f*cking horrible.
Listen I like Marco Mengoni but this song is boringggggg and honestly unmemorable. I watched Sanremo every single day and heard this song like 10 times and I can't remember how it starts. I'm disappointed. Sanremo was just a singer popularity contest and not a song contest this year unfortunately (if that makes any sense). There were amazing songs at Sanremo this year and this was not one of them

WHERE IS LITHUANIA REACTION????? 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
The song Due vite is pretty decent but it is not a great contender for a great singer like Marco Mengoni
Agree!
At least he can sing. Also disagree the song is great
The song was good, they deserved their points
Vocals horrible ahahahahah
Marco is great, but this song is forgettable
Listen I like Marco Mengoni but this song is boringggggg and honestly unmemorable. I watched Sanremo every single day and heard this song like 10 times and I can't remember how it starts. I'm disappointed. Sanremo was just a singer popularity contest and not a song contest this year unfortunately (if that makes any sense). There were amazing songs at Sanremo this year and this was not one of them
you just don't like it but that doesn't mean it isn't a great song.
Too classical for me, sorry. I expected something more from Italy. I had other favourites
sounds like same italian songs they send every year
You obviously were on another planet during the previous editions of the contest.
The same almost every year...
Such a boring done to death song. Hope they pick something else
Pretty boring song
the same boring italian song as always
As always 😂 they had opera , rock , urban , jazz … yes always same boring Italian song . Probably you should watch again all the Italian entries since 2011
@@agosto23 manly this langa danga boring
you looks like Nick Kamen
Bla bla bla
