Il testo non parla della relazione tra la sua vita reale e quella dei suoi sogni, Mengoni usa la sua relazione con sé stesso per parlare di tutte le relazioni, compresa quella con sé stessi; spetta a chi ascolta decidere. Paradossalmente Mengoni parla di sé stesso più di tanti altri ma a differenza degli altri non parla solo di sé stesso, quando l'arte è fatta bene l'autore non si sente, non si vede, non si percepisce anche se lui ci ha riversato dentro tutto sé stesso. Marco has been my favorite singer since 2021 (I didn't really know him before) and it was absolutely amazing for me that he won Sanremo (again)... I still cannot believe it! He deserves nothing but the best! His voice is breathtaking and I love his personality. My mother and I are even singing along to his songs together now :D (especially to "Due Vite" at the moment). He's actually one of the greatest contemporary singer in the whole international stage. This song and this performance don't really showcase how gifted he his. I suggest to dig more into his repertoire. So far he just recorded music in Italian so this doesn't help him to cross the borders. I suggest to ear his "Let it Be" cover at Sanremo Festival with a Gospel choir.

He is gorgeous, his voice is gorgeous, the song is gorgeous. He can pull off the leather pants (in both senses), though I'm also not a big fan of the basic idea. Also, I'm guessing the word "dessert" in the English translation is meant to be "desert." :D
I do not know if anyone arleady explained the lovely subtle "double meaning" in the last words of the song. "Due vite" is "two lives", but "vita" in italian is similar to "vite", "screw" (the plural is different, "viti" for screws, "vite" for lives) . Marco ends the refrain with "che giri fanno 2 vite", i.e. "such turns two lives do!" or "what turns two lives do!", but the reminder to the screws is obvious for italians. Cheers.
