Well the moustache are links to other dictators not just Stalin, that comes from the dark eye make up. I get the song, I get protest songs but the make-up will be off-putting for some. The song doesn't convey their message, except for the chaos on the stage. The translated lyrics are repetitive and simplistic, and to an extend meaningless to those who live outside the eastern European border. That said they may do alright but they will have to vow the casual viewer.

    NJINLE = LENJIN
There's a TH-cam comment that explaines well the meaning of this song: "As a Croat who understands lyrics, I would also like to provide an additional interpretation of the first two verses. So the first verse goes "Mama kupila traktora", and it actually doesn't literally decode to Lukashenko buying a tractor to Putin, but to Russia "buying"/bribing Belarus and establishing control over Belarus. That's because "kupila" translates to "she bought". Also, беларус (=Belarus) is the best selling model of tractor in Belarus, and this makes the parody more more apparent. This interpretation is important for understanding the second verse "Armageddon nona", which is harder to understand. "Nona" in Croatian means grandmother. So if "mama" = Russia, then "nona" = "Soviet Union". This makes more sense if you consider that Russia "bought" Belarus, and has now transformed itself into new Soviet Union who wants to be an empire (armageddon nona).
Finally the nonsensical spelling of alphabet letters in the middle of the song actually represents unification of (Soviet) states into new Soviet Union, which is now represented with a new symbol "ŠČ". Also "ŠČ" is parody of letter "Z" which you can now see on Russian tanks deployed in Ukraine. Despite being punk rockers, Let 3 are known in Croatia and ex-Yugoslav states for their unique punk rock style and deep symbolism. Their main member Mrle also writes texts for theatre plays, which is also worth pointing out. So the whole performance must be taken into account while interpreting it, because this isn't a song you can listen to on radio, but a mini opera that makes a parody of horrors of totalitarianism"
Krokodilski psihopat - crocodile is a very widespread drug in Russia which turns people into zombies.
The message is that we're on your side and against all wars

Tractor is a reference to Lukashenko's birthday present to Putin. In the song Putin is described as a "vile little psychopath", the vocalist represents Stalin, and the guy with rockets has NINLE on his forhead (wordplay:Nin-Le=Lenin). Mama ŠČ is a metaphor for Mother Russia, and crocodile is a drug popular in Russia that makes people act like zombies.

I hear that some are calling the song out for its political messages. As it seems to me, everyone sees something different in a song, passes it through their filters of understanding and tries to find some hidden meaning within their experiences and knowledge. This only confirms the artistic value that Let 3 has shown again and again in its original, recognizable and consistent way. The fact is that they did not say anything specifically in the song or called someone/something names, condemned, etc., and this is a clear proof that the song is not political. Not a single word in the song has a political overtone, but it managed to tickle people's imagination and their need to understand the message, which in my opinion is already a sufficient indicator of artistic success. But with works of art, the meaning always remains a secret because the goal of art is for the person who consumes it to experience it in his own and only his own way. So realistically, we cannot condemn a song for its political content because it is only the opinion and interpretation of some individuals, and not a real fact.

The guy with the Rockets has NJINLE. Reading from L through to N, it spells LENJIN, which is Lenin in Croatian. This song is not just about Putin ot Lenin but also about the bullshit in the world and the politicl shite around Eurovision. Lines where he says, "Mama bought me a tractor" Mama: Mother Russia and Tractor is in reference to putin receiving a tractor for his 70th birthday from Belarus leader Alexander Lukashenko. It's totally satire. It will qualify, won't win, BUT will be such a good show.

It has already started so many good dictations in the internet. Can we ignore the topics of politics and war when there is war in Europe? As a Croat who understands lyrics, I would also like to provide an additional interpretation of the first two verses.
So the first verse goes "Mama kupila traktora", and it actually doesn't literally decode to Lukashenko buying a tractor to Putin, but to Russia "buying"/bribing Belarus and establishing control over Belarus. That's because "kupila" translates to "she bought". Also, беларус (=Belarus) is the best selling model of tractor in Belarus, and this makes the parody more apparent.
So the whole performance must be taken into account while interpreting it, because this isn't a song you can listen to on radio, but a mini opera that makes a parody of horrors of totalitarianism.

You can put a lot in perspective, anything you can see have a meaning.
    1. Tractor is birthday present for Putin from Lukashenko
    2. Mama means Mother Russia
    3. Song is on first childlish because all world is childlish in 21st century
    4. All of them are dressed like former dictators, so they mock them all
    5. Šč is a letter in Russian language which you can interpretate in many ways
    6. Njinle on forehead of one holding a rockets means wordpuzzle Lenjin or Lenin, also he is dressed as Rasputin
    7. Roses in their butt can be inerpretated like protests against unnecessary abortion
    8. Getting naked means they want to make a reminder of the phrase "The emperor is naked" from the folktale "The emperors new clothes", which can be assumed as shame on todays political situation in the world
    9. "Mom, im going to play" means that world is just a playground for the todays rulers, so they ask their moms to go to play
    10. Crocodile is a drug in Russia which makes people acting like zombies
    11. Music is incomprehensible because most of the new popular music today is incomprehensible, they dont have a meaning that is good for people
    12. Make up on a man who wears military uniform means that todays transgenders are interfering on stuff thats not for that type of people
    13. Crazy spot and crazy colors means the world is a crazy place
And for the and they will go in Eurovision from Croatia to England on electric tractor, so thats also message for global warming👌👌👌

People want a commercial song with shallow lyrics and easily digestible music for wide audiences. This is not that kind of thing. This is not what people want to hear but what people need to hear. This is an artistic masterpiece. This is an opera (think Bohemian Rhapsody melos). It doesn't try to appeal to the to masses, it is painting you a picture, it is conveying a message. It talks about a war, that's why it's messy but beautifully orchestrated. Its almost permanent crescendo, the camera work and lighting conveys the chaos of war and what the insanity and reality of war is while its lyrics speak about the absurdity of it. The absurdity and irony is also apparent in the costumes and choreography which immediately tells you that we've already been trough this. The world already knows this, but we're still going or are in another one as if we haven't learnt anything from the history. Also the costume he wears is supposed to show you the real face of the person capable of starting a war. It is showing how that psychopath looks if we could see his psyche and his mind like we can see his nice Italian suit when we look at him. It's an eyeopening song that is just point out the obvious. And they are not in it to win, I personally think they just want to prove the absurdity of todays humanity because if they loose which they said they will it means people can't see the obvious even when you point it out clearly, and it shows why we are at the place we are today and even today we can't understand the obvious so we can expect the same tragic things in the future.
A nicely groomed psychopath commanding everyone to go to war and the people (the audience) not understanding what he is and blindly following.

Memorable, simplistic lyrics with cleverly chosen metaphores and allusions addressed against all totalitarian regimes and aggressors, past and present, all in a delicious form of postmodern, theatrical, punk rock opera-performance, with aesthetic reminiscent of Laibach and Rammstein.
Dynamical and chaotic staging is brimming with elements of socialist realism visual art style and army props, to emphasise even more the subversive message of the song.
Clearly an anti-war, political satire filled with astute dark humor and a touch of deliberate obscenity (Let3's 'trademark').

The way they can get away with it and make it NOT so political as to stop the EBU from disqualifying them, is to simply make the focus on the past, on the history of Russia with Stalin and not Putin but still have the metaphorical stuff in there so that the original meaning is still somewhat there. I think they should try to up the images of Russia in the Soviet era in the 1900s. There's a LOT of history in this song and in the music video with the infamous 'traktor' referencing the Kulaks, the agricultural workers and farmers oppressed by Stalin! I think this part of history that obviously intercepts with Croatia and the Eastern Bloc. The nuclear warheads can also reference the threat of nuclear war a few years later. I think if images of the 1900s Russia and the East are shown on the screens behind them during Eurovision, the West WILL get this!

Let 3 are rock legends in Croatia and they went to Dora (eurosong qualification contest) as a joke and part of the performance and their bigger project, but they didn't think they would win.

A big thank you to LET 3. Mama ŠČ gave a fierce critique, but at the same time, it radiates a lot of positive energy, which can only cause one thing in these dire times: CATHARZIS !!! Podrška iz Budimpešte

I enjoy the song and message. The part it’s can be confuse for the rest of Europe is the performance. I believe Let 3 need to drag the performance more. If they can elaborate more the costume and performance is can be a surprise this year. By the way,the choreography is addictive.

Cinan: Speaks another south-Slavic language. Is questioning if he's hearing what he thinks he's hearing … because the lyrics are so baffling. 😵😦
William: Not knowing the language, makes up his own story about what's going on. 😆

I am so glad this is in the competition, the entrants were all pretty dull up until hearing this, it will be fun on the night, and hopefully will qualify.

I have nowhere seen as many very good opinions of people for this song.
Looks like that so far this song will get the most Tele-Votes
