It was so fun listening to you talk about Honey! She is adorable. I had a pom that passed away 2 years ago and am wanting a dog in my life so bad! I have honed in on toy poodles and I think that will be my next pick. Loved everything about my pompom but I don't want to try to duplicate her, if that makes sense. She was just so precious and I know I will love another little dog just as much. Thank you for the video, so happy for you.

She’s adorable! Crate training would be a plus for any new puppy! And it’s funny that you mentioned that she looks big, she does! She looks more like a miniature poodle and not so much a toy, but still very cute! I had a toy poodle and she was tiny, but not like the teacup poodles which have so many health issues! And are usually scams where you pay so much money for a puppy that will end up suffering from so many health issues! Anyway…
Thanks for sharing your fur baby with us! And I hope you enjoy her to the fullest!❤

You mentioned that you are having problems potty training. Do you crate train her? Don't leave her to roam around freely when you are not there. When you get home take her out right away. Then she will know where she is supposed to go. She is adorable. I have a poodle the same color who's name is Cody. I love him so much. Enjoy her! 😀

    Hi:
I'm Khanh--say Kon--and I found your channel because I was looking for Poodle videos; I'm not getting a toy Poodle, but I am getting a Standard--no sooner than 2025.
I remember being a first time dog owner--we all are at some point and we all make a ton of mistakes. I'm so glad you finally were able to get the dog you wanted. I don't judge or criticize someone's choices, especially if I don't know them. Rather, I'll offer some thoughts that will hopefully help you or someone else with puppy rearing and succeeding with a pup long-term.
First when getting any pup from a reputable breeder, it's not uncommon to pay a deposit. I work for a small breeding program, and we do collect a nonrefundable deposit. But every breeder's process is different so it's very important that the buyer get to know the breeder first; building a relationship with a breeder is more work, but you increase your chances of getting a healthy pup, you get lifetime breeder support and mentoring, and if circumstances arise where you have to rehome the dog, a responsible breeder will take him/her back. Yes, there are plenty of skammers. That's why it's important puppy buyers know what questions to ask and take the time to have many communications with a prospective breeder.
Switching to a different food should be done gradually--read the ingredients on a dog food label, educate yourself about how to read and choose dog foods--and gradually switch over a period of two weeks. Adding a small amount of pure pumpkin--not pumpkin pie filling--can aid the dog's stools.
If you can prevent behaviors before they occur, your puppy won't develop undesirable habbits. Expect puppies to chew--and chew a lot. Offer her a variety of toys and bones to chew on--Nyla and Kong are two very good brands--, and when she goes after something like your shoes or clothing, redirect her by offering her a chew toy and praising effusively when she chews it.
A classic mistake most people make is offering the dog freedom of the home too quickly. When I bring a new puppy home, he/she stays with me in a sling for the first few days when I need to do other things but can't fully supervise him/her. Then I tether him/her to me so that the puppy learns to walk well on a leash and follow me around--we can also play fun short games like "touch" or "sit", or "shake hands", etc.
Freedom is offered gradually, beginning with right after I know the dog has relieved.
Crate training can be taught using games. Susan Garrett has a series of five crate games, and they're on TH-cam. There are many ways to crate train; regardless of the approach, it needs to be done systematically and consistently.
Your girl is very cute, and I'm so glad she's brought so much joy to your life!

I'm getting a Spoo (standard poodle) on June 7th. He will be my 3rd service dog and my 6th dog (I had a lot of childhood dogs.) I'm 18 and I owner trained my 1st and 2nd service dog. My first service dog was a Chihuahua Pitbull mix from a shelter, I got her when I was 6, I started developing a lot of mental health issues when I was about 9 due to my family. Lola was my best friend because I had zero human friends, I spent all of my time with her and we trained for hours a day. I'm pretty sure she knew I had PTSD and other issues before I was diagnosed because she started alerting before they happened. I got to the point where I could not handle being without her, so I stopped going to school. My father and I did some research and found out about service dogs and learned the laws, she already knew over 100 commands, she did highly advanced obedience and tricks, so task training didn't take long at all. We took her in pet friendly places ever since she was a puppy, so when we started doing public access training, she was perfect. My dad preformed the public access test to see if she was ready to come with me to school, and she was! She was perfect in every way, so she started going everywhere with me since she was properly trained. I started going to school again and I had even better grades! My 2nd service dog that will be retiring soon is a Pitbull Rhodesian Ridgeback and Greyhound mix, his name is Kitchi. He is almost 6 and I will be going to college soon so I decided to get my puppy this year since it takes about 2 years of training, and I will be in college for a while. Kitchi also learned easily, but he can't do fancy tricks like Lola. Kitchi is a bit dumb, but I love him. He does everything he needs to do as a service dog, and that's all that matters. I just wish he would stop farting in public... He farts when he gets excited to treats and it is VERY squeaky. He's a very calm dog which is why he can't do fancy tricks, he's just too slow. I'm a helicopter pet parent and I have over 20 pets, they are my children and I would die for them. We live in an area with a lot of tornadoes, we don't have a shelter in our new house yet but out neighbors do. When the sirens go off, my family runs next door to get in the shelter while I stay at home. I could never abandon my babies.

@@mobstercrow7515 thanks for sharing a little of your story. That's great you are getting another service dog. It's also great that you have as many pets as you do and are able to keep all of them. Not everyone is able to do that, and in some situations, it's not always the best choice to keep a dog. I'm not at all implying that it isn't a good choice for you--I don't know you or your situation. I'm just saying that sometimes the most loving thing for someone to do is to rehome their dog or pet. I've done both--kept a retired service dog until she died and have rehomed two of them; my current Shepherd will definitely not be living with me when he retires next year but will be going to someone I love and trust.
And I've also had a dog who died very suddenly before she could retire.
Again, thanks for sharing a little of your story. Good luck with your new pup.

@@khanhhm5762 My service dogs are owner trained, they are part of my family. Lola lived with me until the day she had a sudden medical emergency, we rushed her to the vet and they said there was a tumor in her stomach that ruptured and she couldn't be saved. We euthanized her and cremated her, she lived to be 12.5 years old! Kitchi will stay with me until the day he dies too. I couldn't imagine rehoming my precious babies, they are the only reason why I am alive. I have a lot of mental and physical illnesses but they never stop me from caring for my babies. My pets keep me healthy and active! I recently recovered from anorexia because of Kitchi. I'm still very underweight but he reminds me to eat. I'm very anemic so he brings me water and electrolyte drinks multiple times a day without me asking him. He knows when I'm about to get dizzy so he makes me sit down. I walk him for an hour every day, I train him for about 30 minutes every day, and he uses brain games multiple times a day. He doesn't like playing, but if he did, we would also play! I have fibromyalgia and asthma so it's very painful and hard for me to walk, but I still walk my good boy every day! He depends on me and I depend on him. I only spend 70 dollars on my food monthly, I spend 230 on his food every single month. Even my guinea pigs cost more than I do! But it's worth it! They eat the best food and get the best care.

She's so adorable 😍 I also want a toy poodle once the time is right.
I'm all for either adopting or buying from ethical breeders. Unfortunately, it seems like Honey was not bred ethically but seems to stem from a backyard breeder or puppy mill situation. An ethical breeder would have never let you just take the dog the same day without asking proper questions to see if you would make a good home for the puppy. Since you mentioned not wanting to support puppy mills, I recommend you to read up on what makes a breeder ethical and how you can avoid puppy mills and backyard breeders.

    • @mobstercrow7515
      @mobstercrow7515 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@aishabelton4323 Go to AKC and search for breeders with championship lines. Make sure the puppies are raised in the home and make sure the dams only have 2 litters, and retire by age 5. An ethical breeder will show their dogs, have genetic and health testing on their parents, and take a lot of pride in their dogs. They have playpens for the puppies with swimming pools filled with noisy bottles, puppy playgyms, bridges, they will play noises on a TV to desensitize them, they will get them used to grooming and nail trims, and they start training them. Some breeders start crate training also! Puppies learn the best at 8-16 weeks, which is why you should start grooming them, crate training them, and desensitizing them to animal noises, construction noises, animals on the TV, fireworks, rain, thunder, blow dryers, vacuums and other things as soon as possible. The sooner you do those things, the better!

Ours is a toy poodle and we tried so far about 6 brands of dry food ans she does not eat it. I boil meat and some veggies and she eats some, but we wouod like to give her some dry food. She is an adult now so needs adult food.
Any suggestions will be welcomed. Thank you.
As for pee training, we do not let her get out in the winter because of the frigid temperatures, so we bought from Amazon puppy pads, and whenever she pees on it we show her joy and excitement and a treat and now she does it on pads in the bathroom.
And yes, my toy poodle looks just like yours. We got AKC papers for her. And if you want to save some money, try central -north Indiana. You can buy one under $1000.00

Don’t get hung up on the word “adopt”. There are lots of cool rescue dogs in the world, but try finding one that’s hypoallergenic. After searching for a year my daughter finally found one that was a puppy mill rescue. The shelter explained the special needs this dog would have. It quickly became clear the dog needed more than a girl with a full time job could provide. The shelter encouraged my daughter to get a purebred puppy from a reputable breeder. She did and had almost fourteen happy years with that dog.

Reputable toy breeders do health testing and do not indiscriminately breed for money. Show breeders, usually a good choice for not being scammed, usually charge between 2-5k. Do not buy from anyone that says they have "teacup" poodles. There is no such thing.. made up by back yard breeders to get more money. Contact the toy poodle club of America for breeders. No pet stores or crummy byb pups!

Am I the only one that thinks this is a poodle mix?

The coat doesn’t look like a pure breed poodle. But I’m no expert..opinion only.

She looks exactly like my cockerpoo, although mine is mostly toy poodle, Dad pure poodle and mum cockerpoo but looks just like a poodle. Mine is 4 months and her coat isn’t going curly yet

I have one, Lily looks exactly like this, I had the same concern and the DNA test shows she is a pure breed.

She’s definitely a pure bread. I have a miniature poodle and they look just alike. Mines is a purebred

Mine is a schnoodle still cute but mom is Poodle and breeder said nothing about that .take dog to get Genealogy test. I went to Bansfield and it's included in the wellness plan. This little one looks like a maltipoo.

That's a multi-poo. Not a toy poodle. Notice the hair.

This dog doesn't look like pure poodle and they maybe mixed with another kind of dog. The dog's hair is straight. This is not a full breed.

Poodle puppies have straighter coat. The adult coat has the curliness.

That is how it shows 2-3 weeks after grooming. Mine is the same, and I have AKC papers for her.

Try northern Indiana. Clean people. When you get the dog, smell it. If it smell like pee, they are not clean people, do not buy from them.
