I tested with this methodology and learned absolutely nothing about how the real world works. It took my own initiative to put myself into challenging situations and then problem solved. It all finally clicks and does get easier but you have to be the one that brings your skill level to that point.
The real point is that we keep lowering standards to push otherwise unqualified candidates through what should be a challenging process to ensure public safety.
I have the concept of it. I am having problems with the setup but if the setup is ugly i kind of know how to fix it. But im trying to perfect my setup so i don't have to do all of that
Bruhhhhhh I failed maneuver #4 by not being within the 3foot trailer box 😔 test again soon. Just hurts I came so far to passing and I was on the dotted entry line for the trailer box.
You got this. Use your pull-ups n get out n check. I passed the skills test first try but failed the road test ,because I stalled at a red light. Took the test again a got my license now and I'm making more money.
For a bus or truck w/ trailer? Bus, rear tire lined up with first cone, turn wheel,to right and back until you see the first cone on the left in the left convex mirror. Straighten the wheels and back to the cone until you can safely go around it, the third wheel to the left and back into the box. The reference points and maneuvers are similar to parallel parking the the passenger side. I’m sure the reference points for trucks are close to this.
So... no perpendicular backing required any more... you know the thing we have to do multiple times a day. No wonder companies are get new CDL drivers and they need to spend an hour getting into a dock.
Some real dangerous teachings there. Not allowing a driver to exit a vehicle to ensure safety tells me everything as to why we have so many dangerous driving videos. Allowing someone to exit to check the vehicle is of paramount safety. Dangerous testing and developing a terrible driver mentality. Do better

Totally agree. But that’s the government for you!
that's the point you'll be the one driving it isn't their job to give you real world experience

The test for trucks in england has been similar too this for about 40 years
Thanks for sharing it helps
Happy to help 🚛
Do you have measurements for the boxes? I haven't seen anything yet that indicates any distances, width of the box, etc.
The measurements are in the modernized CDL handbook chap 12
@@shontijackson4047 Thanks, I finally got my hands on one of the new manuals. 😁
How do I get straight with come on exercise 4 (truck and trailer)
When you are turning out of the spot to pull up straight make your turn a little wide and when you bring it back to the right you should be straight
@@Rasean1992 thanks bro!
So how do you know your front is inside the box? I used the side marker for reference but I can't see it
Use your mirror
@jemessynm front side not rear
Use your hood mirror when you see the cone stop!
Well I passed, I'm in the box when my side marker is flush with the front of the box and just beneath the cone. Thanks anyways.
What have accepted this new requirements?
That's good video but you have showing inside how you retern your Steering
We’ll do that in our next video!
I practice 4 days already but i don’t make it yet
Keep practicing and pushing yourself 💪
@@CDLInstructorSAGE when should make my turn to pull out on the third exercise?

Agree with you, but we don’t make the rules!
Facts!
I saw a Walmart driver struggling to back straight in an empty Walmart lot. 😅
Hello Sir , i am Sri Krishna from india. Do you know any recruiters in Europe for truck driving

100% agree. Tell that to the FMCSA.
The key is to become so good at backing until one or two looks will do it. 👍🏾💯🏆
