@B_slacking all I own is Abu Garcia, from blackmax to promax. Leave the promax on the shelf. Promax is the only Abu reel that has ever given me trouble, I have 3 promaxs and they all have the same issues.

What I really like about this video is that we don’t necessarily have an unlimited budget and $50 is significant so even a slight edge towards better performance for the money is great input coming from some seasoned guys. I just bought my first Abu Garcia silver max 30 spinning reel and the vengeance rod and it's amazing! I have plans to buy a Lews baitcaster soon. I have no clue how to use a baitcaster but Lews will be my first baitcaster!

Once you get to the $200 $250 mark all the companies are good reels. I just wish lews would make less reels that way they could make all the reels better if you get me.
M Jones I do have a LTX SLS and a ALF BF7 and have had a MGX and a SX in the past. The reels are good and I also love how the Gen 2 fit in my hands but I don’t feel they compare quality wise with my Shimano and Daiwa reels. This is only my opinion and not fact obviously 😉.
besides the grips the silver max also has that very noticeable, weird “rocket clutch” thing i literally never used when i had mine, its cool but not as convenient as it seems

I own a AbuGarcia BlackMax. I have had it for three years. It still cast like new. Back in the dinosaur days I used the Ambassador 5000 reels with the UglyStick rods which I still have. Never used a Lews but when my BlackMax wears out I’m going to buy one to try.
I like this,but fishing both companies a lot I'd know instantly from the grips. Abu is a block. Lews has those dope paddles. Winn grips would hide that though Regardless this is dope.

I like the Abu Garcia reels but I i have 6 Lew's...but I don't like the Abu rods just broke my second one today while casting. You should do a Lew's rod VS Abu such as strength test or something. Awesome vid.
I know that it kind of dampens the fun, but I'd be able to tell which reel is which by the grips. I own two Black Max baitcasters, as well as three SilverMax spinning reels, and a couple of Ambassadeur baitcasters, so I'd be able to tell the difference between the grips on the reels. I just bought my first Lew's Speed Stick baitcaster combo from Walmart last night because I've been wanting it since Walmart started selling it. The only thing that I don't like about it so far is it only comes in right handed retrieve, and while I am right handed, I like to hold the pole and cast with my right hand and reel with my left.

I feel like Lews is more of a professional reel but Abu is more of a beginning type of reel, both are amazing brands and I use both daily. I mean anything is a great reel as long as it casts and you can catch a hog on it😂🤷🏻♂️
When Mitchell stopped making there reels in the USA. I switched to ABU reels on BnM sticks. But lees have felt reel nice. I’m looking at getting one. After all Abu makes both Mitchell and lewd now anyway.

Yall should have casted with both of the reels after the blind fold because I have 7 lews tournament mb and I about take the tension knob off and I have a few of my friends that own a silver max and I can sling it farther than any lews
I had a Silver Max and I also have a LEW’S Laser MG. The Abu was free due to a gift card and the Laser MG was a gift. I used them specifically on 7’ Medium rods for bass fishing only. I had to service the Abu within about 7mnths and till this day(1yr and 9mnths later) I have not had to service the LEW’’S yet and still runs like a dream. My Silver Max was serviced and didn’t run the same after that. No More Abu For Me! Now I have bought 2 more Lews baitcasters as well as spinning reels and love them all.
I’ve fished w/ Abu Garcia almost my entire life. I love the older 5500 and 6500 flat side baitcasters! I do own a newer Black Max, one each of the LH and the RH models! Can’t find a Silver Max @ any of the local Wally Worlds! I have used several Lews reels also and hafta say they are smooth as can be also! Awesome vid! Keep up the great work guys! I have the Abu Garcia Silver Max and I think it’s a great reel. It may be a cheaper price, but it gets the job done!

I own the Abu Garcia silver max from 2012. It still performs like new I do catfish with it and a professional X 18 ball bearing set up.

My first bait caster was a lews lzr pro and it’s my favorite reel I own and never had a problem with Lews but I have had problems with abu garcia
i just bought the lews combo from Walmart and having problems getting it set up correctly never used one before but having problems with the line feeding out when casting
Me and my buddy just got into baitcaster fishing and he runs a lews (not sure what model) from wally world & I have 2 abu black max from wally. Both combos are very nice for the price if you're just getting into it
I currently own a Abu Black Max and I got it from Walmart a year ago and absolutely love it...I had a Lewis...don't remember which one...but anyway never had any issues with either but prefer Abu only because my thumb fits better on the spool

I have a black max on a vengeance rod and a few lews reels on assorted lews rods, I love the lews reels but for some reason I really like the abu rod
