Stop freezes enemies based on how much magic you possess. The reason I know this is because the only way to kill the pink hat mushroom in KH 1.5 is to literally use a combination of the diamond dust keyblade, as much magic as you can have, stopga, and aeroga otherwise the thing will never drop the serenity objects. Stop is used mainly so you can freeze enemies particularly strong attacking one's, use massive damage and watch as time restarts and the enemies explode as they feel all that damage at once. But like I said its effect depends solely on how much magic you have and how strong your time magic is as well.
19 MP is the only way to get the Prime Cap accessory btw, and _only_ magic users can use it. It's seriously stupid and I don't like how you're locked out of a potentially neat Defense-boosting accessory if you're not of a certain build...and even THEN it's difficult to get the timing down, too...use RAgnarok as much as you can. Speaking of Re:coded, have you come to talk about your Lord and Savior Judgment Triad?
KH1 magic is more powerful than KH2 (Reflect & Magnet + Thunder is strong too). That's why I went for Staff drop Sword in KH1 cause it's my favorite route, blue represents magic (my fav color), highest MP you can get w/staff (19 Max), and more MP more damage!
About Gifted Miracle, which is not on the list but would've been number 1 if it did: For those who are unaware of it, Gifted Miracle restores your HP, reloads your cards (even those "sacrificed" on Sleights) and resets Sora's reload counter back to 1. The downside: it also heals your enemies, and in the case of deck bosses, also reloads their cards. Overall, Gifted Miracle is a reset button to the battle itself. I'm convinced that Gifted Miracle was designed specifically for the multiplayer feature in the GBA version of Chain of Memories, much like the original Darkball Card (which made the numbers of your cards invisible to the opponent). In PvP, Gifted Miracle absolutely wrecks opponents who rely too much on Item Cards, which Gifted Miracle can't bring back. In the remake, there's no multiplayer, so yeah... Gifted Miracle's only practical use is to reset the battle after a boss has spent all of his/her Elixir Cards. Not something you ever need to do in a boss battle in Chain of Memories.
I think Magnet Grab is a cool idea, actually. If it worked on every enemy type, you could use it to isolate dangerous enemies and get rid of them without getting swarmed. As it is, it looks pretty horrible, but I think with some buffs it could actually be pretty neat.
It heals you and you get invincebillty frames from Sora Leafbreacer allowing you to break out of combos. That was often useful against Lingering Will. In Kh 1 Donald (with the right AI settings) did a fantastic job in keeping Goofy(aka my nearly unlimited MP source) alive. So yeah its actually amazing.
how ironic about the #2 spot because the lexaus boss card from rikus story in COM is the same ability as warpinator, but is a billion times better and has a much higher chance of instant killing your enemies xD
I come back to this video every so often, and I'm going to defend the Spark spells in DDD. They are great for crowd control and can work in tandem with Balloon for great defense. Yes, Spark's area of effect can be a turn-off, but the damage makes it perfect to end combos with as opposed to being used on its own.
Yeah I thought this as well, I went back to DDD to get 100% recently and decided to not use baloon at all to actually try out some of the other abilities in the game and the spark spells were some of my favourites for croud control and high damage
yeah spark was a constant go-to spell in my proud mode playthrough. balloon is strong but is better for bosses, spark has higher damage against regular enemies
Huh... When I first saw this in my recs I thought you were gonna be one of those casual nubs that think all magic besides cure are useless, but I was pleasantly surprised. You've earned a sub from me.
I think the best magic system in the KH series is 0.2's, since you can move around while using spells (without Drive Forms), restore MP a lot quicker than in KH2 (especially when picking up MP Orbs), inflict status ailments fairly easily, and even in cases where magic aren't doing all that much damage, you can still spam a lot of spells easily to gain access to fourth tier spells to deal massive damage. Plus, the spells themselves are hard to avoid: even single target spells like Firaga have a larger area of effect. Also, they look way better visually than in most of the previous games.
I know it didn't actually make the list, but Sleep can be quite useful. While playing as Ventus on Critical, I cooked up a strategy: Graviga, Aeroga, Sleep, Then Fire Surge. This worked out very well in quick succession. (Until I accidentally saved over the file)
Was going to mention this, when I was doing a crit olaythrough for the first time I realised how valuable support spells could be during a fight and actually started to use spells like sleep and slow a lot more
Prize Magnet spells are solid if you need to grab some HP prizes and get into Ghost Drive. It'll buffer your Second Chance/Once More back up so you can survive whatever hits you. D-Link Magnet is also good for grinding purposes if you aren't grinding near a save point or moogle.
Another use for Warpinator; farming for White Mushroom Enemy cards (assuming you don't have standard Warp), honestly I never realized it was that inaccurate, worst luck I had on it was 3 attempts for 1 enemy

well thanks for the heads upon the "Gravity card" in chain of memories. Just jumping into the game and I feel that the spell wasn't that highly praised on the ps3 copy unlike the game boy version of Kh.
plus you got moves like quake, flare, holy... yeah... even confuse is better than gravity in that game cause at least confused enemies won't attack often
dualwieldroxas358 Yeah but unlike balloon spells you can’t spam them for eternity and they’re not enough to take down a boss, unless your build is heavily customized with Ultima Weapon, if so then, yeah possibly.
Hey Joc! This was a pretty good improvement on your video format. I know that the complaints from viewers are probably getting annoying, but just see it more as constructive criticism, rather than people bitching just because they don't like how something is~ The new font is much nicer, and legiable, so thank you for that change. And I'd say the thing I like the most about this list is that it's in a digestable length while still getting the point of each pick across very nicely, the honourable mentions just being a quick segment showing off said mentions helps keep the video length down. Overall, big improvement on your video, I liked this one much more than some of the previous ones. Keep up the good work, if more of your videos come out with this kind of quality, I'm looking forward to seeing them in the future!

I didn't have a problem with their comments. I can see that a lot of people like it better this way so yes my future countdowns will be in this format

For the party members one I feel like donald might win. Although he dies a lot, his limits break the shit out of certain bosses in kh2. If it weren't for him I wouldn't have gotten my silver crown on lv.1
Well actually if we take Donald from KHI or Re : Chain of Memories he actually sucks in those (Goofy is way better than Donald in KHI), also in KH2 I feel Riku is better, I actually never see Riku die ever (even at LV1), he can heal very well and have a good Limit (not the best but yeah)
I totally agree for the KH1 and ReCOM, donald sucks ass in those. Goofy is really helpful in the first game because of MP gift. In KH2 I like to use him for goofy tornado because he's mostly invincible during it and it's helpful for those fucking rodeo monsters in the pridelands. The only reason I would say donald has any chance of being slightly better than riku or goofy is because none of the three are exceptionally more helpful than the others for crowd control and most of the time I put my party on Sora attack anyway. At that point all I care about is their limits, and donald's are the best in my opinion because duck flare can do a lot of damage, comet can be staggered for long periods of invincibility, and both allow full control of sora so you can heal or toss items to chain invincibility. Two underrated party members in my opinion are mulan and jack sparrow. Mulan's rocket kick move can clear out enemies quickly and Jack's bomb skill is really helpful against pirates and both grim reaper fights.
The problem with party members is that with the exception of Donald and Goofy, none of them have real good avaiability. They are just avaiable on their worlds, and that's it. It really hurts those characters ranking in general. So yes, imo both donald and Goofy deserves to be on the Top2 of the list, since they join earlygame, and are avaiable almost all the time after that.
I think another important factor is usefulness. It's been awhile since I've played KH1 or KH2, but I think Ariel, Jack, and peter pan have access to the lucky strike ability, which helps for mid and even late game farming depending on which weapon you chose. The same can be said of both jacks and aladdin I think in the second game, which is really helpful for getting powerful synthesis items early since donald and goofy don't learn lucky lucky until fixed points in the game and sora has to get limit form lv.6 for an extra or for one at all if you're not on crit. Of these though I would Jack skellington is the most useful because you get an extra early lucky lucky with him in your party, he has good magical attacks, and his limit break is one of the best in the game.

I haven't actually played that game, but I can see synchro actually being useful... if you're a risk taker. Probably takes a bit of practice and it has a learning curve, but you could eventually know when to use it and shorten the length of many fights.
Nice to see another countdown. And if you compare this one with the previous ones, It's very visible to see that you are improving your quality on the videos. Keep it up man. As for the party members countdown, all of them have the same issue, you can't use them outside of their world. For example, you can't use aladin outside of Agrabah. The only exceptions for that are donald and Goofy, they both join earlygame, and stays around for most of the time, and they are both helpful on KH1 and KH2. So yeah, just because of their avaiability, I think that both donald and Goofy deserves to be on the Top spot on that list. However, I'm more interested to know where to other party members will be placed on the list, since they have similar avaiability, theircriteria for evaluation should be only on their usefulness
Magnet Grab - That guy was raging because he doesnt know how to use it lmao. Simple asf, that spell cause just a bit of damage but... saved me a lot of times.
the Spark spells should've gotten a buff in the PS4 version by removing that initial spell cast animation and skipping right to the actual attack, also I feel the crystals should've had a small-ish AoE around themselves to cover the blind spot right next to Sora
I actually like the spark spells but I do agree that the long windup led me to getting knocked out of it most of the time when I first started using it. But over time I used it more strategically and it worked a lot better. But I do still think either the cast time should be shorter or you should get i frames while using it
actually Warpinator is very useful when trying to get certain enemy cards. I dont see why you wouldnt just like blitz the enemies you need to kill first, but thats a decent use for it

I agree, Synchro is a terrible spell. I never used that combo and wish never to use it. Thanks. BTW in my opinion, poison is good because one yes, it chips a bit of health off of foes but with attacks and spells added to beat down the enemies, it will be even more damaging. Think of it this way: I have played against bosses in dark souls and you have to be patient on doing high damage and attacks constantly. Patience and strategy is a must. It will take a while against enemies and bosses with certain attacks, but soon they will die. That is true victory.
Blizzard spells in 358 days are actually fairly useful against certain heartless like the Emerald Serenade. I found Thunder spells a lot lore useless in comparison due to the extremely weak damage output, bad range/area of affect, and the fact that you can still get Thunder Finish from certain keyblade ability links in order to shock enemies, so it makes Thunder even more useless
Thunder & Thundera in 358/2 is extremely strong. You can cast Thundera on the enemy at the corner or the wall, and it hit multiple time and instantly kill the enemy(including the boss) Thunder is good to fight Ruler of the sky(which I think is better than fire magic) if you also got some ether. It can be use to kill the strongest secret boss in 358/2 in a safe distance.
I always thought that Aero and Aeroa were pretty bad and got outclassed by Aeroga in 358/2 and that Curaga was too annoying to consider viable during regular gameplay.
I can only think of one use for the prize magnets. Money Magnet + A max level sleep for money farming is pretty nice. Assuming you're having trouble getting it or commands anyway for whatever reason. As for actual use? Sleep and Money Magnet are pretty fucking bad for combat over-all, but if you can kill all but 1 or 2 enemies and hit them with sleep, it can be pretty good, pretty fast money. (And honestly one of the only uses for Sleep I could find.)
Honestly, being able to steal from a group for 5-6 enemies is *huge* and far stronger then you'd think... except for the mass immunity for some reason.
prize magnet could be amazing for grinding if it picked up items/orbs that drop on the ground(the magnet skill that usually does it doesn't always have a good reach)

really? well, i can see how, because in kingdom hearts 2, each keyblade has a certain ability that can be used for gaining some materials, beat a certain boss, grinding, and so on. then how about... uh... i don't know top ten useful abilities or worst abilities?

I was nodding my head along with this list. xD And oh my word, yes...I am glad you put Esuna there. Esuna is useless asf. I never bothered using it. xD In DDD and BBS it just wasn't that good.
Blizzard commands suck because you're usually forced to rely on them when you don't have anything else. And esuna is somewhat useful in BBS because you can fuze it with block/barrier for a healing block/barrier. And it doesn't have levels so you don't have to level it up. It also spares you from having to loose a curaga command.
Alexandru Not always. Let me go through the games in a list. KH1: Does a lot of damage with shotgun-esque blasts. It's only real flaw is being close-range. KH2: Your only other ranged option was Thunder and, while many people love the Thunder line, I am not one of those people. It does good damage for a small MP cost and pierces, meaning comboing it wiith Magnet is about as easy as comboing Thunder with Magnet. DDD: Only covering Blizzard, I felt none of the basic spells were that good TBH. BBS: Read DDD. Chain of Memories: Read KH1 358/2: This one is hard to explain due to how magic worked. Blizzard itself was a projectile that wasn't quite homing, but would change direction 3 times to try to hit. Blizzara was a mortar like shot, where it would arc and explode on contact. Blizzaga wasn't a projectile at all, and was a plantable mine that does heavy damage and may freeze opponents, meaning triple damage. Well, Blizzaga is solid because... It's a mine. bbs kinda showed mines are good. Blizzara does fairly solid damage and is more reliable than some of its competitors fairly reliably. Blizzard is an intro spell, so of course it's bad.
There is Fire basic spell on KH2, but not on list because you can use it to beat Demyx and Data Demyx (i don't see any other good use to it in more then 10 years playing this game), Victory Pose and Fireworks (Yes, this counts as a prize AND spell in Birth By Sleep, and do anything, like ANYTHING AT ALL except a pose... Don't do damage, don't heal, and don't give you any status or damage proof from time period).

Esuna does have one use in Birth by Sleep and that is to meld it with Block/Barrier and it makes Renewal Block/Barrier which is much much more useful than the spell itself + you don't have to waste Curaga for making Renewal Barrier/ Block. If anyone commented this before me then, sorry just saying.

Where is Curaga from 358/2 days? In that game it draws a circle in the map where you can recuperate health if you stay inside. Thing is, the circle is extremely small, doesn't recover that much health and you can't use other spells while it is active.
Curaga in the first place is more for multiplayer support, but this is also why you level up magic in Days. LVL5 Curaga's raidius is much more respectable and heals a lot more
I disagree with your appraisal of Synchro. When grinding in the later segments of the game, it became a godsend and more fun than anything. The Lock-On system never proved an issue for me, and the combo of Synchro and the Water Spout sleight helped me clear out high-tier rooms way faster than even Mega Flare could. I tried, it barely worked half the time. It might have just been how I used it or that I got to learn how to use it well, but overall it was a mainstay of my deck except for bosses.
A bit disappointed Breakdance from BBS didn't make it. I mean, Ventus is wide open when he's doing a spinning handstand & the heal's not worth it. Good job on the vid tho :)
ok, so i actually like magic in KH (by exception of the D-link, Munny, and Energy magnet. those didn't need to exist) but, they could of been better....like this Spark: you could just make it the most powerful magic in the game( yes, even stronger than balloon) so that way, its more of a risk/reward kinda spell Pulse Tracer: just make it a constant bolt, it lasts just as long, but it chases the heartless down instead of just shooting 5 bolts in the heartless's general direction Gravity: JUST MAKE IT MORE LIKE KH1 GRAVITY!!! Poison: just go by pokemon rules and increase the damage overtime, or make the attacks from poisoned foes weaker Bind: just.....make it more like BBS, i dunno Magnet Grab: if you want the whole "weight" & " magnet, but its a projectile" thing, then just make it like balloonra, where you make it so you use magnet, and lauch it towards enemies, and the heavier the opponents total weight is, the more damage it does. Syncro: make it a recovery move. like, you can either make your friends HP equal to yours, or heal HP equal to the Opponent Warpinator: just make it a teleport move instead D-link, Munny, and Energy magnet: i got nothing, their just absolute abominations of spells
You really didn't give Synchro any love, did you? As someone who played chain of memories a bit too much, I think it's a really solid spell, and I'm shocked it's ranked higher than gravity. You can get the spell rather early in the game, if you're lucky, anyways... And use it to absolutely shatter random battles to the floor at times. Yeah, it's no Megaflare, but it does have it's uses. For one, most of the "flaws" you pointed out seem to be about the game's "meh" lock on system, which I can understand, but it mostly seems to just be a lack of skill there. Hit the enemy to daze all the enemies at the beginning, find weakest target, smack them to low HP, use Synchro. It trivializes pretty much a large majority of random encounters in the game if you're solid at hitting the enemies before they bump into you, which, again, is skill. It's an insanely solid spell that shatters the final dungeon as well. Especially those Neo-shadows, who can just sink into the floor and dodge Trinity Limit/Mega Flare, anyways. Synchro, however, is MUCH harder for them to avoid, as it doesn't take a long time to cast at the beginning of a match. Yeah, it doesn't work against bosses, but mostly nothing other than "do damage" cards affect them, anyways. It's tough getting Trinity Limit and Mega Flare on them, too, since they're both slow cast spells and bosses have "LOL 0!" Heck, the only real thing I can see that makes Synchro such a useless spell is that it's trapped behind a rare Treasure card door, meaning you could get REALLY lucky and get it early, or you'll get it after you cleared 90% of the game, which makes it rather pointless at all. And you'll most likely want to save your first Room of Rewards card for Warp or megalixir, anyways.
Well sleep is trash because almost every boss is immune to it but in BBS crit lvl 1 speedruns you have two bosses that get absolutely destroyed by sleep... well one with Aqua and one with Ven but I owe that spell hours (probably) of fighting Vanitas which it shortened to 5 minutes
Kingdom Hearts 3 has been out for like... 3 years now, I think? In my humble opinion, the only stinker is aero. It creates a vortex of wind on the floor which triggers the flow motion jump. In my experience, it doesn't do much damage to enemies, and I've NEVER liked flow motion in KH3.
To be honest I do agree with what those spells you listed However there is a spelled that I remember from Kingdom Hearts 2 that I despised I can't remember if it's a fire or blizzard but it's the one that you get early on and only does a very tiny ring around you I can't remember which one it was cuz it's been a long time since I played it
FlapHedge It was Fire. Fire does damage radially around you, Blizzard is a piercing projectile. However, Firaga is a larger ring and does the most damage of the three for the least cost, meaning it can be a good supplement to melee and can be used to absolutely shred Demyx, Vexen, and Zexion data battles.
Sooooo, here we are again. You probably don't remember me, Joc, and there wouldn't be much point in you doing anyway, so let's go to the arguments, shall we? #10 - I actually really like Spark. It does shitloads of damage, is good at crowd control since most battles are against hordes of enemies, and it works really well against bosses. Just time it rightand Sora will be okay. Not only that, but with Sparkga the spell isn't automatically cancelled when he gets attacked, so it works better. Also, it's kinda cruel and unfair to compare it to Ballon since literally NOTHING is better than Ballon. #8 - Kinda sucky of you to say you wouldn't pick single card spells and then pick Gravity just because it can be used as a sleight. Techinically it counts, but c'mon, you can be more creative than that. #Forgot - Esuna isn't super useless. At least it's useful against No Heart if you get caught by his multitude of status effects (especially Doom). Just putting it out there. .......And that's it! I mostly agree with all of these (it probably helps that I'm not much of a spell guy and never played Re:Coded), but yeah. Just putting my thoughts out there. I'm going to be honest, I didn't like fire in kh2 because when I use magic, it's because I want to be as far from the enemy as I can while still being able to attack.
Each his own. I like fire. Mainly its Drive Form variants. Fore example Master Form Firaga lets Sora Charge Forwards which is great start up fore a combo. Final Form Firaga is absolutely devastating if used right.

I'm convinced that Gifted Miracle was designed specifically for the multiplayer feature in the GBA version of Chain of Memories, much like the original Darkball Card (which made the numbers of your cards invisible to the opponent). In PvP, Gifted Miracle absolutely wrecks opponents who rely too much on Item Cards, which Gifted Miracle can't bring back.
In the remake, there's no multiplayer, so yeah... Gifted Miracle's only practical use is to reset the battle after a boss has spent all of his/her Elixir Cards. Not something you ever need to do in a boss battle in Chain of Memories.

I think Magnet Grab is a cool idea, actually. If it worked on every enemy type, you could use it to isolate dangerous enemies and get rid of them without getting swarmed. As it is, it looks pretty horrible, but I think with some buffs it could actually be pretty neat.

It heals you and you get invincebillty frames from Sora Leafbreacer allowing you to break out of combos. That was often useful against Lingering Will. In Kh 1 Donald (with the right AI settings) did a fantastic job in keeping Goofy(aka my nearly unlimited MP source) alive. So yeah its actually amazing.
how ironic about the #2 spot because the lexaus boss card from rikus story in COM is the same ability as warpinator, but is a billion times better and has a much higher chance of instant killing your enemies xD
It only works with combo finishers, though, but lasts until 50 cards have been played. I don't think you get any XP from Warp Break, though.

I come back to this video every so often, and I'm going to defend the Spark spells in DDD. They are great for crowd control and can work in tandem with Balloon for great defense. Yes, Spark's area of effect can be a turn-off, but the damage makes it perfect to end combos with as opposed to being used on its own.
Yeah I thought this as well, I went back to DDD to get 100% recently and decided to not use baloon at all to actually try out some of the other abilities in the game and the spark spells were some of my favourites for croud control and high damage
yeah spark was a constant go-to spell in my proud mode playthrough. balloon is strong but is better for bosses, spark has higher damage against regular enemies

I think the best magic system in the KH series is 0.2's, since you can move around while using spells (without Drive Forms), restore MP a lot quicker than in KH2 (especially when picking up MP Orbs), inflict status ailments fairly easily, and even in cases where magic aren't doing all that much damage, you can still spam a lot of spells easily to gain access to fourth tier spells to deal massive damage. Plus, the spells themselves are hard to avoid: even single target spells like Firaga have a larger area of effect. Also, they look way better visually than in most of the previous games.

I know it didn't actually make the list, but Sleep can be quite useful. While playing as Ventus on Critical, I cooked up a strategy: Graviga, Aeroga, Sleep, Then Fire Surge. This worked out very well in quick succession. (Until I accidentally saved over the file)
Was going to mention this, when I was doing a crit olaythrough for the first time I realised how valuable support spells could be during a fight and actually started to use spells like sleep and slow a lot more
Prize Magnet spells are solid if you need to grab some HP prizes and get into Ghost Drive. It'll buffer your Second Chance/Once More back up so you can survive whatever hits you. D-Link Magnet is also good for grinding purposes if you aren't grinding near a save point or moogle.
Another use for Warpinator; farming for White Mushroom Enemy cards (assuming you don't have standard Warp), honestly I never realized it was that inaccurate, worst luck I had on it was 3 attempts for 1 enemy

The new font is much nicer, and legiable, so thank you for that change. And I'd say the thing I like the most about this list is that it's in a digestable length while still getting the point of each pick across very nicely, the honourable mentions just being a quick segment showing off said mentions helps keep the video length down.

Panaceas in particular are very useful in Days due to the amount of Org. XIII based debuffs (I.E. Flowered/ whatever the moon affliction is called)
Also I really wish that coded wasn’t so underrated for its mechanics. Like yeah the story sucks but if it were just a spin off I feel like it would be great :(

For the party members one I feel like donald might win. Although he dies a lot, his limits break the shit out of certain bosses in kh2. If it weren't for him I wouldn't have gotten my silver crown on lv.1

Well actually if we take Donald from KHI or Re : Chain of Memories he actually sucks in those (Goofy is way better than Donald in KHI), also in KH2 I feel Riku is better, I actually never see Riku die ever (even at LV1), he can heal very well and have a good Limit (not the best but yeah)
I totally agree for the KH1 and ReCOM, donald sucks ass in those. Goofy is really helpful in the first game because of MP gift. In KH2 I like to use him for goofy tornado because he's mostly invincible during it and it's helpful for those fucking rodeo monsters in the pridelands. The only reason I would say donald has any chance of being slightly better than riku or goofy is because none of the three are exceptionally more helpful than the others for crowd control and most of the time I put my party on Sora attack anyway. At that point all I care about is their limits, and donald's are the best in my opinion because duck flare can do a lot of damage, comet can be staggered for long periods of invincibility, and both allow full control of sora so you can heal or toss items to chain invincibility. Two underrated party members in my opinion are mulan and jack sparrow. Mulan's rocket kick move can clear out enemies quickly and Jack's bomb skill is really helpful against pirates and both grim reaper fights.
The problem with party members is that with the exception of Donald and Goofy, none of them have real good avaiability. They are just avaiable on their worlds, and that's it. It really hurts those characters ranking in general.
So yes, imo both donald and Goofy deserves to be on the Top2 of the list, since they join earlygame, and are avaiable almost all the time after that.
I think another important factor is usefulness. It's been awhile since I've played KH1 or KH2, but I think Ariel, Jack, and peter pan have access to the lucky strike ability, which helps for mid and even late game farming depending on which weapon you chose. The same can be said of both jacks and aladdin I think in the second game, which is really helpful for getting powerful synthesis items early since donald and goofy don't learn lucky lucky until fixed points in the game and sora has to get limit form lv.6 for an extra or for one at all if you're not on crit. Of these though I would Jack skellington is the most useful because you get an extra early lucky lucky with him in your party, he has good magical attacks, and his limit break is one of the best in the game.

As for the party members countdown, all of them have the same issue, you can't use them outside of their world. For example, you can't use aladin outside of Agrabah. The only exceptions for that are donald and Goofy, they both join earlygame, and stays around for most of the time, and they are both helpful on KH1 and KH2. So yeah, just because of their avaiability, I think that both donald and Goofy deserves to be on the Top spot on that list.
However, I'm more interested to know where to other party members will be placed on the list, since they have similar avaiability, theircriteria for evaluation should be only on their usefulness

I actually like the spark spells but I do agree that the long windup led me to getting knocked out of it most of the time when I first started using it. But over time I used it more strategically and it worked a lot better. But I do still think either the cast time should be shorter or you should get i frames while using it
actually Warpinator is very useful when trying to get certain enemy cards. I dont see why you wouldnt just like blitz the enemies you need to kill first, but thats a decent use for it

I agree, Synchro is a terrible spell. I never used that combo and wish never to use it. Thanks. BTW in my opinion, poison is good because one yes, it chips a bit of health off of foes but with attacks and spells added to beat down the enemies, it will be even more damaging. Think of it this way:
I have played against bosses in dark souls and you have to be patient on doing high damage and attacks constantly. Patience and strategy is a must. It will take a while against enemies and bosses with certain attacks, but soon they will die. That is true victory.

Blizzard spells in 358 days are actually fairly useful against certain heartless like the Emerald Serenade. I found Thunder spells a lot lore useless in comparison due to the extremely weak damage output, bad range/area of affect, and the fact that you can still get Thunder Finish from certain keyblade ability links in order to shock enemies, so it makes Thunder even more useless
Thunder & Thundera in 358/2 is extremely strong.
You can cast Thundera on the enemy at the corner or the wall, and it hit multiple time and instantly kill the enemy(including the boss)
Thunder is good to fight Ruler of the sky(which I think is better than fire magic) if you also got some ether. It can be use to kill the strongest secret boss in 358/2 in a safe distance.
I always thought that Aero and Aeroa were pretty bad and got outclassed by Aeroga in 358/2 and that Curaga was too annoying to consider viable during regular gameplay.

Money Magnet + A max level sleep for money farming is pretty nice.
Assuming you're having trouble getting it or commands anyway for whatever reason.
As for actual use? Sleep and Money Magnet are pretty fucking bad for combat over-all, but if you can kill all but 1 or 2 enemies and hit them with sleep, it can be pretty good, pretty fast money. (And honestly one of the only uses for Sleep I could find.)

Every spell in BBS if you're Terra (or just Terra period) besides like mines/flares/meteors/magnets.
As for Re:CoM, what's magic? Just murder everything with Ars/Sonic/Lethal Frame + Jafar card.
If you dont lock the enemy and use warpinator at the start of the battle in com,it works.

Blizzard commands suck because you're usually forced to rely on them when you don't have anything else. And esuna is somewhat useful in BBS because you can fuze it with block/barrier for a healing block/barrier. And it doesn't have levels so you don't have to level it up. It also spares you from having to loose a curaga command.

KH1: Does a lot of damage with shotgun-esque blasts. It's only real flaw is being close-range.
KH2: Your only other ranged option was Thunder and, while many people love the Thunder line, I am not one of those people. It does good damage for a small MP cost and pierces, meaning comboing it wiith Magnet is about as easy as comboing Thunder with Magnet.
DDD: Only covering Blizzard, I felt none of the basic spells were that good TBH.
BBS: Read DDD.
Chain of Memories: Read KH1
358/2: This one is hard to explain due to how magic worked. Blizzard itself was a projectile that wasn't quite homing, but would change direction 3 times to try to hit. Blizzara was a mortar like shot, where it would arc and explode on contact. Blizzaga wasn't a projectile at all, and was a plantable mine that does heavy damage and may freeze opponents, meaning triple damage. Well, Blizzaga is solid because... It's a mine. bbs kinda showed mines are good. Blizzara does fairly solid damage and is more reliable than some of its competitors fairly reliably. Blizzard is an intro spell, so of course it's bad.
There is Fire basic spell on KH2, but not on list because you can use it to beat Demyx and Data Demyx (i don't see any other good use to it in more then 10 years playing this game), Victory Pose and Fireworks (Yes, this counts as a prize AND spell in Birth By Sleep, and do anything, like ANYTHING AT ALL except a pose... Don't do damage, don't heal, and don't give you any status or damage proof from time period).

Esuna does have one use in Birth by Sleep and that is to meld it with Block/Barrier and it makes Renewal Block/Barrier which is much much more useful than the spell itself + you don't have to waste Curaga for making Renewal Barrier/ Block. If anyone commented this before me then, sorry just saying.

Where is Curaga from 358/2 days?
In that game it draws a circle in the map where you can recuperate health if you stay inside. Thing is, the circle is extremely small, doesn't recover that much health and you can't use other spells while it is active.
Curaga in the first place is more for multiplayer support, but this is also why you level up magic in Days. LVL5 Curaga's raidius is much more respectable and heals a lot more
ik this is an old video, but yeah poison and its fire equivalent ignite are good in BBS level 1 because of the way damage scaling works

I disagree with your appraisal of Synchro. When grinding in the later segments of the game, it became a godsend and more fun than anything. The Lock-On system never proved an issue for me, and the combo of Synchro and the Water Spout sleight helped me clear out high-tier rooms way faster than even Mega Flare could. I tried, it barely worked half the time. It might have just been how I used it or that I got to learn how to use it well, but overall it was a mainstay of my deck except for bosses.
A bit disappointed Breakdance from BBS didn't make it. I mean, Ventus is wide open when he's doing a spinning handstand & the heal's not worth it. Good job on the vid tho :)

Spark: you could just make it the most powerful magic in the game( yes, even stronger than balloon) so that way, its more of a risk/reward kinda spell
Pulse Tracer: just make it a constant bolt, it lasts just as long, but it chases the heartless down instead of just shooting 5 bolts in the heartless's general direction
Gravity: JUST MAKE IT MORE LIKE KH1 GRAVITY!!!
Poison: just go by pokemon rules and increase the damage overtime, or make the attacks from poisoned foes weaker
Bind: just.....make it more like BBS, i dunno
Magnet Grab: if you want the whole "weight" & " magnet, but its a projectile" thing, then just make it like balloonra, where you make it so you use magnet, and lauch it towards enemies, and the heavier the opponents total weight is, the more damage it does.
Syncro: make it a recovery move. like, you can either make your friends HP equal to yours, or heal HP equal to the Opponent
Warpinator: just make it a teleport move instead
D-link, Munny, and Energy magnet: i got nothing, their just absolute abominations of spells
3D's Spark(ga) would be okay if it weren't for the fact that Faith in the same game is a strictly better two-slot light spell lmao
You really didn't give Synchro any love, did you? As someone who played chain of memories a bit too much, I think it's a really solid spell, and I'm shocked it's ranked higher than gravity.
You can get the spell rather early in the game, if you're lucky, anyways... And use it to absolutely shatter random battles to the floor at times. Yeah, it's no Megaflare, but it does have it's uses. For one, most of the "flaws" you pointed out seem to be about the game's "meh" lock on system, which I can understand, but it mostly seems to just be a lack of skill there. Hit the enemy to daze all the enemies at the beginning, find weakest target, smack them to low HP, use Synchro.
It trivializes pretty much a large majority of random encounters in the game if you're solid at hitting the enemies before they bump into you, which, again, is skill. It's an insanely solid spell that shatters the final dungeon as well. Especially those Neo-shadows, who can just sink into the floor and dodge Trinity Limit/Mega Flare, anyways. Synchro, however, is MUCH harder for them to avoid, as it doesn't take a long time to cast at the beginning of a match.
Yeah, it doesn't work against bosses, but mostly nothing other than "do damage" cards affect them, anyways. It's tough getting Trinity Limit and Mega Flare on them, too, since they're both slow cast spells and bosses have "LOL 0!"
Heck, the only real thing I can see that makes Synchro such a useless spell is that it's trapped behind a rare Treasure card door, meaning you could get REALLY lucky and get it early, or you'll get it after you cleared 90% of the game, which makes it rather pointless at all. And you'll most likely want to save your first Room of Rewards card for Warp or megalixir, anyways.

Well sleep is trash because almost every boss is immune to it but in BBS crit lvl 1 speedruns you have two bosses that get absolutely destroyed by sleep... well one with Aqua and one with Ven but I owe that spell hours (probably) of fighting Vanitas which it shortened to 5 minutes

Kingdom Hearts 3 has been out for like... 3 years now, I think? In my humble opinion, the only stinker is aero. It creates a vortex of wind on the floor which triggers the flow motion jump. In my experience, it doesn't do much damage to enemies, and I've NEVER liked flow motion in KH3.
Gravity actually does not kill enemies in KH1, but good video regardless.

To be honest I do agree with what those spells you listed
However there is a spelled that I remember from Kingdom Hearts 2 that I despised
I can't remember if it's a fire or blizzard but it's the one that you get early on and only does a very tiny ring around you I can't remember which one it was cuz it's been a long time since I played it
FlapHedge It was Fire. Fire does damage radially around you, Blizzard is a piercing projectile. However, Firaga is a larger ring and does the most damage of the three for the least cost, meaning it can be a good supplement to melee and can be used to absolutely shred Demyx, Vexen, and Zexion data battles.
Combine Firaga with Final Form and you can do insane damage to even Lingering Will.
I knew Balloon would pop up somewhere in this video. I totally didn't use that stun strategy against Julius to platinum the game...

Sooooo, here we are again. You probably don't remember me, Joc, and there wouldn't be much point in you doing anyway, so let's go to the arguments, shall we?
#10 - I actually really like Spark. It does shitloads of damage, is good at crowd control since most battles are against hordes of enemies, and it works really well against bosses. Just time it rightand Sora will be okay. Not only that, but with Sparkga the spell isn't automatically cancelled when he gets attacked, so it works better. Also, it's kinda cruel and unfair to compare it to Ballon since literally NOTHING is better than Ballon.
#8 - Kinda sucky of you to say you wouldn't pick single card spells and then pick Gravity just because it can be used as a sleight. Techinically it counts, but c'mon, you can be more creative than that.
#Forgot - Esuna isn't super useless. At least it's useful against No Heart if you get caught by his multitude of status effects (especially Doom). Just putting it out there.
.......And that's it! I mostly agree with all of these (it probably helps that I'm not much of a spell guy and never played Re:Coded), but yeah. Just putting my thoughts out there. See ya on the next video I'll try to pick apart (and probably fail miserably).

I'm going to be honest, I didn't like fire in kh2 because when I use magic, it's because I want to be as far from the enemy as I can while still being able to attack.
Each his own. I like fire. Mainly its Drive Form variants. Fore example Master Form Firaga lets Sora Charge Forwards which is great start up fore a combo. Final Form Firaga is absolutely devastating if used right.
