- Honest food reviews in Tokyo
You’ve probably seen this place all over the internet, it might even be on your Japan food bucket list. It’s a hidden gem in Tokyo called Chacha Futatsume and its in Asakusa - they do this very aesthetic Matcha Mont Blanc dessert in an ice cream cone.
Our honest review - We found it to be a little bit dry, it could really do with a sweet sauce between the cake layers… but overall still an epic dessert!

One suggestion - while you do with food vlogs please do mention weather it's vegan or vegetarian friendly or not, that would help a lot of viewers...!!
idk if you know Japanese but your prononciation is really good!
ありがとう!I speak a little 😅
Videl is that u?
@@sharangcool excuse me?
@@w.hhuhhsamm ahh, just that your display picture looks like the character videl from dragonball z
@@sharangcool oooohhh it's ok!
For people who might not know the spaghetti looking paste is actually sweetened chestnut puree, and it's not for everyone, and it can feel dry. X3 I don't mind it, but Mont Blanc can be a bit too sweet in my opinion. I've only had it in Japan to be honest. This matcha one is probably still chestnut puree mixed with matcha, so it might feel even dryer than regular Mont Blanc.
I think you hit the nail on the head with the chestnut and matcha combo!
That sounds delicious to me, but it makes sense that the matcha might make it a little dryer than usual so I’d probably try adding the tiniest bit of oil to compensate. If you screw up the amount then you get matcha chestnut butter so it seems like a win either way
Oh, in Switzerland we call it Vermicelles
If you pause at the layer descriptions, it directly labels it as chestnuts instead of “mont blanc“
@@Chemeleon15 they’re the same thing, mont blanc is a chestnut purée dessert
Thank you for the honest review. ❤

“You’ve probably seen this place all over the internet”
Me: Gurl. This is my first time ever seeing this. TELL ME MORE.
Hahaha we must be on different algorithms 😂
@@TheFoodInbox yeah lol
😂😂😂😂
@@TheFoodInboxMe also, never seen it 😂
In Germany, “spaghetti ice” has been really popular for decades and you can get it at any ice cream shop that offers a menu. We use vanilla ice cream and it gets placed on top of type of whipped cream and topped with the most delicious and fruity strawberry sauce. I still order it anytime I’m back home and getting ice cream.
Edit: Forgot to mention the white chocolate shredded all over as the parmesan!
Sounds delicious! Although this dessert has no ice cream in it 😱
I used to get spaghetti ice cream all the time when I lived in Germany as a kid in the nineties, and it was exactly as you described - vanilla ice cream in strings of “spaghetti” with red strawberry sauce on top as the “meat/tomato sauce” and white chocolate shavings as the “Parmesan”!
Germany always had some fantastically creative ice creams for kids! It was a great place to grow up!
@@justanotherhappyhumanist8832 sounds so good!
@@justanotherhappyhumanist8832 omg yess my family is German. Once when we visited, I was in like 3rd grade. I got this cool ice cream that was like bubble gum flavored and the stick of the ice cream was literally BUBBLEGUM😅 I thought it was so cool.
@@kianna270 I think I know the ice cream you’re describing! Google “BumBum German ice cream” and let me know 👀
If you want actual ice cream like that you should visit Germany and get spaghetti ice cream :D it's my favorite!
hahaha might have to plan a German holiday soon!
Its yummy fr
My boyfriend keeps telling me to try it since I've moved in with him, but I keep passing it up.
@@alstaa3434 You should try it! It's 100% worth it and your bf is a wise man :D
Spaghetti Eis is like the dream dessert I will not die until I’ve tried
me who's never seen this place on the internet 👁️👄👁️
“You’ve probably seen this place all over the internet” 😂
thank you for the honest review
😊
Finally some honest reviews thank you!
No probs
All I'm saying is, German Spaghetti icecream is unbeatable ☺️
haha we'll have to try it one day!
I gotta try this if I ever get to Japan, I love matcha desserts
Matcha is everywhere in Japan!
I like its dry and less sweet. Hate sweetened stuff and it seems like the dryness adds to consistency in this case, looks rly delicious
We have been eating this in India since ages it’s kulfi with falooda
Eagerly waiting for your video sir
this looks so freaking epic, especially with the lemon marmalade since i love lemons, sis they better still sell this shit if i visit japan in the future !!
Haha 😂
Very similar to Indian Kulfi Faluda (sweeter/ flavoured version)
no i have not seen this all over internet 😂
You’ve been under a rock 🤣😝
Love honest reviews
Thanks 😝
that pronunciation was on point
😀😀 thanks
yea except mont BLANK
i love that place so much! i go there every frieday, and i always order that!
Really?!
Looks really amazing😋😋
I looove cakes that are on the drier side and also love matcha. I want this so bad, now.
You’d probably love this then!
I love how you say it’s topped with “matcha mont blanc“ like those are totally normal words that everyone is supposed to understand.
Google is free 😂
"we thought it was a bit dry" *proceeds to take a whole spoon of just topping*
How we gonna dig to the bottom of the ice cream cone without taking the top off first 😅😂
Needs to be around the world.
🙏🏻 amen
Wow she’s so pretty!
Duh this type of ice cream is also served in India 🇮🇳🇮🇳
But with Kulfi and Falooda 🍦🍦🍝🍝
It’s not ice cream though
@@TheFoodInbox We know. But falooda looks exactly like that. That's the first thing that came to my mind as well seeing this. Altho taste will prolly be different.
OMG I NEED THIS IN MY MOUTH!!!
Looks good, I’d try it. 👍
I would absolutely love too try matcha ice cream I’m always open too new things 😊
It’s yum!
Great work i always wanted to visit japan it's just so fascinating 😮❤
So much to see and do in Japan!
As a matcha addict I just almost lost it looking at that
In a good or a bad way? 😂
@@TheFoodInbox in a very very good way. But also bad because I’m not in Tokyo.
Bro Japanese’s people have such good manners, all neatly waiting in line to get served. Here in East London you’d have 60k people inside all at once
I hear this all the time about Sweden and how people love to stand in line. My reaction is like, what? noone enjoys standing in a line, it's just common decency..if someone who got after me gtried to push himself before me i would throw hands. Not polite but freaking annoying if not followed.
So true!
Looks amazing.
Normally Mont Blanc has more fair layering with whipped cream and meringue but the cone really doesn’t allow for that well. It’s like that burrito shitpost where they made the burrito horizontal instead of vertically
That makes sense
Video is more clear than my vision 🥺
Bless 🙏🏻 hopefully your vision gets clearer
I now know this is an excellent dessert because of your “honest” Americanised craving for extra sweet sauce on top of it
We aren’t American 💀
Yum
🙌🏼
Literally the first time hearing of this
Right lol
😂😂
I don’t like chestnut or matcha but it’s beautiful and I enjoy looking at it I’m glad some people enjoy it
Idiyappam ❤
It makes me remember "kulfi faluda".
It’s so delicious❤
😅😅😅A😅a😅😅😅1😅
U r voice is so sweet like this desert
Thanks!
Remember kids there are million people and millions taste buds.
So different story!
It looks beautiful
It was very pretty!
How fun! 🥰
اشي من الاخرر روووعة ❤❤❤
It reminds me of Zoro from One Piece . . .
I NEED TO EAT THIS
That looks so good
It was very pretty
"This desert in Tokyo is getting VIRAL!"
Me who literally saw it for the first time: 😶
I found that it is good if you scoop a bit of the ice cream to eat with the matcha paste. Don’t eat the matcha paste by itself
I WANT TO TRY IT. PLEASE OPEN A RESTAURANT IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA 😩😩❤️❤️❤️
Japan loves Mont Blanc.
They do indeed
I want it!
Looks like the “spaghetti ice” in Berlin and Magdeburg. I first saw that like 15 years ago
In India especially in a state called karnataka the grass looking thing from the machine they make we use the same technique to make a dessert called 'shavige' where u put coconut milk or curry on that and to make it healthy we use ragi powder boil it with water and put inside the machine and eat it
Sounds yum!
I really thought this was one of those sweet and savory “Green Tea Ramen Noodles on top of an ice cream” treats 😭
Not a noodle hack just this time 😝
If you break it into a bowl and eat it all together/mixed up it tastes soooo good!
Should brought our bowl LOL
@@TheFoodInbox you can ask for one at the shop too.
My sis who went to Tokyo without me just sent me a picture of it I thought it was just matcha ice cream that you can get anywhere but now I know it's not just an "ice cream" and now I locked myself up in my room and cried myself to sleep
😩😩
This is the first time i heard about this place but damn I got to visit one day
Haha sounds good!
That reminds me of a toy I use to play with - Play-Doh Buzz 'n Cut Fuzzy Pumper Barber Shop
😂😂
This is my first time seeing this.
really?!
Germany had an excellent spaghetti ice cream!!
So we keep hearing!! 😀
They should actually include ice cream in it
I wish!! Haha
Yummmmm
😳😳😳😳😳uauuuuuu oishiiii koré 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋
😊
Passed this store a hundred times and never once went in to explore 😅 Changes are in order😊
You have to try it at least once! Also around the corner is a lovely melonpan shop that I S stuffed with the most creamiest ice cream!
Every time I see edible gold I feel like Katniss watching the Capitol residents.
hunger games…. Well we were hungry 😅
❤
I would try it only if that was green pasta
😊thanks
No problem 😊
Is the matcha bitter?
Is there any sweetness at all?
It’s got a bit of bitterness but mostly sweet!
@@TheFoodInbox Ok thanks 👍
Saya harus mencoba nya segera
I’ve never heard/seen this place once! 😂
nice
I really want to stick my mouth under that machine😭✋
🤣😂
They have a whole anatomy about this desert💀😂
Yep 😂😂
Reminds me of playdoh 😂
Kinda got that consistency 🤣
If you want some noddley dessert try Iranian faloodeh. Its the most ancient iced dessert I believe made out of rice noodles with ice and syrup
We have the Lebanese version all the time!
I summon the Italians!!
I have literally never heard of this b4 😭
Hahaha now you have!
That face said it all 😂
😂😂😂😂
My bank account🔥🔥🔥🔥
This thing is sweet as hell and you want more sweet sauce 😅 I would say that the "dry" is actually ok because you don't want the dessert to be easily spilled out when you are eating and walking around, and especially you will need to take quite some time to savor it.
You can’t savour it because it’s dry though it gets stuck to the top of your mouth 😅
“It’s dry but you gotta try”
Why not 😂
In Malaysia we call it "CENDOL"
Spaghetti ice!
Kinda 🤣
It’s a tourist trap lol
It's called faluda in India.
Can’t lie never seen this place 😂
In India try kulfi faluda!!!
Nice
:)
I actually never saw this until now-
Really?!
@@TheFoodInbox yeah-
Going off what I've seen most Japanese savour treats a lpt slower and in smaller "bites" than most other continents / ethnicity which us why it may seen dry.
Noodles icecream
It’s giving glycerin by junji ito
😂
Me never seeing this anywhere in the internet : 👀
😅
