the pumpkins are a special breed that is bred for seeds and the flesh goes back into the farmland as an organic biodegradable fertilizer that helps cut the cost and use of commercial fertilizers saving the groundwater, soil, and all living things within the food chain

We grew a few varieties of sugar pumpkins at a farm I worked at. Those did taste pretty good baked, though its true that its difficult to compete with a good winter squash variety!

Its like helloween trick-or-threat shit. So we put some pumpkins around yard and hungry bear came at night and eat them. If you dont do this - bear eat your pig, goat, geese and childs, who accidenly go out to play with domestik wolwes.
But if no joke. Farmers use long storage pumpkin like winter food for pigs and cattle. Pigs like seeds(they don't care), cows - don't like it. So seeds extract and use like food for geese and chickens, or throw away.

    • @motygmbh

      Dear Gloom Flower,
Of course it is possible to collect the flesh. These varieties are not proper for human consumption at seed ripeness. We have customers in Australia and South Africa, who collected the flesh for animal nutrition. This mostly as water source, since the nutrient content is lower than the energy needed for transport.

It is a waste and it isnt. The pumpkin leftovers are obviously being used to fertilise the ground for the next crop. Without that, I guess they would need to use artificial fertiliser.

@@ROGER2095 Yes...I attribute my success back to the time one of my friends' dads took us out in the backyard with some chicken (pieces). He was giving us a safety lecture with the power push mower, and he pout a couple legs and thighs in the grass and ran over it with the mower, and the resulting carnage wreaked on the chicken parts, well, it scared the hell outta me enough to respect a piece of equipment enough to know it could rip your flesh and bone apart. I later showed the same demo to my kids. But your method is very good as well, as it only takes a split-second to change your hands or feet forever.
