It’s fascinating how innovation comes from practical challenges like labor shortages! The collaboration between De Terp organic farm and Hegro Agri Service to create a pumpkin harvesting machine is a great example of adapting to modern needs. Visiting the machine at estate farms Mariënwaerdt must have been a unique experience, especially seeing how such technology can revolutionize the traditionally labor-intensive process of harvesting pumpkins. It's exciting to see how agriculture continues to evolve with creativity and efficiency!

Love how you show all aspects of a machine and harvesting. Love your videos as always, get to see machines I never would and how they work, much appreciated.

Nice to see but there is so much loss.. Look at 01:45 and further and 01:52 and further again. Will they all stay behind or will someone come after who wants to make pumpkin soup? 🙃

The harvesting process with machinery on your channel is truly awe-inspiring. Modern agriculture is thriving more than ever!
That dude with the front loader has some serious skill.

Great footage. 👍🏾😎 Sap-green fields and orange pumpkins, nice to watch. 🙂
echt gaaf om te zien hoe ze een hakselaar omgebouwd hebben, hadden wij er maar zo eentje dan hoevden we de kalebassen niet met de hand te knippen haha
Good Dutch engineering. . 👍👍
the veggie boys (and girls) could really go big time with this
The video is so good and wonderful. thank you very much 4:55
This agriculture technology looks promising for the future of food production

The fruit harvesting is a very delicate task.

Good Dutch engineering. .
This harvester is so modern.
Actually built around quite an old John Deere forager
What percentage of pumpkins is mechanically damaged during the harvest? Is it possible to use pumpkins harvested by this machine for storage?
The pumpkins are storage for weeks and sometimes months at the time depending on the Shelflife, but I don’t know what percentage gets damaged
I guess about 60% will be damaged; hand-harvested pumpkins will taste better and last longer in storage compared to machine-harvested ones.
@@FarmfactoryhdMy guess these are for the Halloween market across Europe. They’re low value & aren’t eaten.

@@Farmfactoryhd not true, i worked on the machine.
at max 5 percent gets damaged. Stems are good aswell its a secret variety of squash😱.
Hello, What is the variety of pumpkin?
I' need to ask to the grower. But this variety has been specially refined to be harvested mechanically
Hokaido(?) 😀
why does it have electric motors instead of hydraulic ones?
Probably more practical in some scenarios

Those pumpkins aren’t edible
@@hughmarcus1 The title is: harvest for fresh market...
looks like the bases of a silage chopper John Deere used to make this
Yes we all have eyes. It’s literally on the side of the machine you genious.
@@xSCHEF so that number is a silage chopper number? or are you just being a Cockwomble to distract you from being a sad excuse for a human

@@xSCHEFno need to be rude. The man was just making an observation
Are these for ornamental decoration, or are they used to make food products?,
This type of pumpkin/ winter squash is usually for food production (soup etc.)
I might be wrong but they look like the ones that are used around Halloween for decoration
What do you mean by "fully mechanical"?
No human part in harvesting them. The people on top are only sorting.
The machine is great but I want to know the chemical program to have pumpkins that weed free
what chemical program? 😂 they're organic
Schoffelen with a lot of polish people
WOW says Kallstrom Sweet Corn in Ephrata , Washington . U>S>A
where does it say that?
1st
doesn;t this kill the plants? kinda dumb if so. right?
Yes it kills the plant, but the pumpkin plant only lives for 1 year, and the soil has to be ploughed etc so it doesn’t matter if the plant gets killed
