Ohhh boy this movie was GOOD!! Appreciated you having me on the channel again bro! Y’all don’t even wanna know what didn’t make the video 🙃so many unhinged moments😂 Hit that like button for my boy and drink water!!
There's a huge thing that's not touched on from the book: Augustus had a girlfriend before Hazel that passed away from a brain tumor. And supposedly the tumor changed her entire personality, to where she had no verbal filter. That's why Augustus does the same throughout the whole movie. Also apparently Augustus was staring at Hazel in the meeting because she and Hazel looked similar in their "cancer states" (book quote).
Notice the swing set is gone? Another book reference. In it, they decide the best way to deal with the swing set of tears is to get rid of it, so they sell it to a family with two kids whose parents want them to go outside more.
The Fault in Our Stars was the first book I was ever obsessed with. It was something I could relate to, and how so much I wanted I relationship like Hazel and Gus had. This was my childhood, and I loved all of the nostalgia.
I read this book only a few months after my dad passed from cancer. I cried so much reading it and cried ever more when I watched the movie. I think til that day, it's still the movie that makes me cry the most.
This was a hell of a ride LOVED IT SM you didn't mention it but I will, when Hazel's dad goes to her room after the funeral he said "A friend is here to SEE you" and it's Isaac, it cracks me up sm
Forgot the book was more depressing bc his ex had a brain tumor but I didn’t cry, only teared up. The movie tho hits different bc of the performances and I bawled silently like five times😂
The skeleton thing is called funky bones it’s an art piece at the Indianapolis art museum because this book/movie takes place in Indiana :) But this book/movie means so much to me I read it a year after my mom passed away from the same cancer as Hazel and it really helped me process some of my grief which was a lot at 11 I’m glad y’all enjoyed the movie it’s amazing.
This movie is based on the book by John Green. The author is also a TH-camr. He makes some of the deepest and most meaningful writing and content out there.
Shailene woodley is such a good actor I can watch anything she’s in. Everyone did good in this movie and I haven’t seen this in years but the ending definitely made me teary. If you can watch this movie and not get emotional you’re either the devil or one of gods strongest soldiers. Both you and billy were hilarious tho
NO...I was NOT OK watching this movie! (I'd read the book & knew what was going to happen & thought I wld be) But No...Tears were streaming down my face! The pre funeral scene & what follows really gt me! 1 time I' was glad I went to the theater alone 😥 The acting was amazing & you really feel the emotions!
Came here to support both of the boys you guys are always hilarious. Y'all help the algorithm out and like, comment, and if you haven't already subscribe! It's well worth it!
As someone from The Netherlands I actually loved that they went to Amsterdam. I've actually done the Fault In Our Stars tour and it really brings you to the most beautiful places there. And the restaurant they went to was SO delicious, although it was quite pricey. If, one day, you actually decided to go to Amsterdam I would highly recommend doing a boat tour and visiting Anne Frank's Achterhuis. It's quite touristy, but definitely worth it in my opinion.
That kissing scene Hazel and Gus were watching is from Buffy the vampire slayer with Buffy and Angel. Awesome series could you guys or one of guys react to it sometime.
I honestly loved you and Billy Binges teaming up to watch this movie! Your guys reactions were very entertaining to watch!! If you and Billy haven’t watched Five Feet Apart then you guys should definitely team up again and watch Five Feet Apart because it’s really good!
My Friend and I both have survived thyroid cancer. I gave her a copy of this book and a pack of tissues. I told my partner that I would get a text from her when she got to the "Christmas Tree" line. One day, about a month later at 4:30 in the morning I get a text message..... But hey, at least I gave her tissues.
Shailene Woodley played Tris in the Divergent movies, and in the book series, her character met a tragic end. Shailene is good at playing tragic characters.
I’m pretty sure this is the only time there’s been making out in a movie that Billy has not compared it to something random like headphones, touching, or statical electricity lol
the skeleton park thing, Funky Bones, was curated and then recreated in the movie by Sarah Urist Green, the author's wife. He put the art instalation in the book as a love letter to his wife (and indianapolis)
This reaction was hard to watch as it hits too close to home, but I really appreciate the work and effort you guys put into your commentaries ❤ Thank you
omg even though i watched this movie so many times i still feel the same feelings like when i watched it for the first time a great story and a painful end and yes pain doesn't wait love and support for all cancer fighters all over the world
Yes my faves back together with one of my fav movies and the book is so good they really did this one right it makes you feel everything and helps you think
Such a wonderful movie but such a hard one to watch. You guys helped soften the sadness on this viewing (until it got really sad, haha). Fantastic reaction!
I wanna say I read this book in 2013 and finished it in math class and definitely cried. The movie did a pretty good job I feel of being accurate. And I love the naked brothers band 😆 Crazy car is a BOP!
I said in another channels comment section, this movie took another turn for me after my brother died of cancer consequences, i'm not good with time so idk how many years ago it was but its never a straight line, sometimes feels like yesterday, sometimes feel like a life time ago. It is very true "pain needs to be felt".
Fun fact: that skeleton sculpture is there because John Green's (the author of the book's) wife is an art director and helped bring it there to Indianapolis
I think this is my first time seeing this movie but at the same time I feel like I've seen someone else react to this so idk. Anyways it's a good movie a sad one but good. All I remember what this film was about was cancer. I wish cancer and other types of sicknesses that can take your life never even existed in the first place. My grandma (my dad's mum.) had cancer but that was when I was like under 4 or 5 years old, so I don't really remember her going through it, but I do know that she won that battle and she passed from old age a couple years ago. My mum's dad had, and I think still has skin cancer, but he got threw it but then it came back towards the end of 2021 and the beginning of this year if I remember correctly. It's so hard seeing one of your loved ones going through something like that and all you want to do is help them, but you don't know what to do to help besides just be there for them and love them. But you just want their pain to go away and for them be okay and healthy. Love it when you two do collabs! Love your videos you do such an amazing job!
This movie is always a little weird for me. The actors who play Hazel and Augustus also play brother and sister in Divergent. Then this movie came out and they were love interest Lol. I've only seen this movie once. Kind of depressing movie. I agree with MID you kind of have to be in the right mind frame to watch this movie. At some point I might watch this movie again.
Lol now I know that you guys are the same generation as me if you were growing up with The Naked Brothers Band😂 Btw I know how annoying it is to be asked ''are you okay?'' when your are going through terrible things but that's why Gus and Hazel said that ''okay'' was their thing. As long as they were true to themselves-- together, apart, sick, healthy, or dying--- then they would always be...okay.
I like when she asks "are you in pain?" because the whole time when people kept asking "are you ok?" that's what they actually meant.
No she says that cuz she knows how painful it is most people jsut say like how r u feeling thinking cancer is like the flu in terms of symptoms I mean
Ohhh boy this movie was GOOD!! Appreciated you having me on the channel again bro!
Y’all don’t even wanna know what didn’t make the video 🙃so many unhinged moments😂

Yeah, that's a pretty common symptom of brain tumors. Massive changes in personality.
@@tiffanykim2773 lmfao why did third translate to your original comment and said “ew” at first😂
Wow so the book is more depressing I see. But imagine being reminded of his ex lol but all he said was “you’re beautiful”
@@Itzezyyyy it really is like the chapter stating he died ruined me so much i put the book down for like a week
He's the type to take her oxygen tank away and say she can't breathe without him. BILLY with the darkest comment ever hahahaha

LOL
I choked on my wine when I heard that I can’t stop laughing at that

Literally jaw dropped when he said that😭
Y'all ought to do 'The Parent Trap' (1998) together. It'd be so much fun! 🤗

I read this book only a few months after my dad passed from cancer. I cried so much reading it and cried ever more when I watched the movie. I think til that day, it's still the movie that makes me cry the most.
So sorry for your loss ❤
I absolutely adore this movie although it makes me sob like crazy. I couldn’t agree more. The performance from these actors is incredible

For the record: no, they didn't actually go to the Anne Frank house. It was a set built as an exact replica.
No, they did film in the house. They were the first film to do so.
i’ve never watched the movie but i read the book and it was so sad i couldn’t stop crying, this is also another favorite collab of mine on the channel
Thank you!!

This is a beautiful movie and Shailene and Ansel did a wonderful job. I cried so much first time I watched this when Gus died.
This film had me ugly crying!! Sobbed like a baby. It was brutal!
I also believe that it was confirmed that Hazel does indeed pass away after the book is over.
As someone from The Netherlands I actually loved that they went to Amsterdam. I've actually done the Fault In Our Stars tour and it really brings you to the most beautiful places there.
