The LEGO Disney design team have been given a bigger piece count to explore something from the theme in more detail again and this time it’s the cottage from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
One of the very best classics of Disney’s 100-year history, this is a famous story with iconic characters and a very memorable setting. It’s perfect for a LEGO set and particularly one where the design team have been given more LEGO pieces to work with, to really explore all the LEGO opportunities that this film offers. The result is 43242 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ Cottage.
Regardless of the quality of the cottage itself, one thing does stand out somewhat. Some of the Seven Dwarf minifigures fall uncomfortably into Uncanny Valley... - บันเทิง
If thanos was hulk sized, genie should have been hulk sized aswell. Thats just a fact.
The chima approach of printing the animal head but using a molded mask was adequate. Atleast lets you pick the best of two imperfect options.
As for the dwarves. The eyes could stand to have a circle around them thats just slightly darker than the plastic to make it more visually distinct
Genie is constantly different sizes throughout the entire movie. With that considered I dont see any problem with him being minifig sized.
Maybe noses would help all minifigures!
Lego managed to get the dwarfs in the Hobbit right with changing the beards, which is where they missed out to get that stretch and squish style of animation.
No mention of Pinocchio?
This video raises some interesting points and discussion around minifigure face design and I really agree with most of it except one thing: I think the dwarves look absolutely fine!
What ru talking about ?this is amazing.this 7 dwarfs are so cute and beautiful.ur weird
They look perfectly fine to me. Would have been much more terrifying as moulded heads. Price point would have been terrifying too.
How exactly are these faces creepy?
They look absolutely perfect from their movie counterparts.
I absolutely agree.
Yes, they're a perfect representation of the dwarfs IMO, because I checked by watching a movie clip particularly paying attention to the eyelashes. There's no denying that the "standard" expression of the mini-figures, yes in non IP sets still, is in part responsible for the sense of familiarity the Lego fans come to expect, really. Since I can't imagine younsters talking about Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (no buzz around the theme?) then these printed expressions might become slightly strange. You know what, we should ask fans of the franchise? That's my take and I hope you all have a nice weekend.
They're perfect and imo really cute. I feel like they really captured each dwarf's expression good. Dopey looks dopey like he's supposed to.
👍👍
James 😁
How could you not love how they translated Dopey as a minifigure, he’s so adorable!
Nothing creepy about them. They look great. You can put creepy music to a photo of a puppy and try and convince people its creepy and it wont work.
I also feel like you completely ignore the fact that all of the dwarves apart from Grumpy do portray happy characteristics in the original film.
Doesn’t look weird to me at all
I wholeheartedly disagree with this entire video, I think the dwarves look great as minifigures, and I absolutely love the special minifigure heads, as they help maintain the charm of a particular and still feel like they’re in the Lego world.
You really should have made it clear that this is your opinion, not everyone agrees with yours sentiment here.
