This is a harsh punishment for such a minor product that you leaked on accident. Yes it's probably their standard protocol for this kind of action, but it goes to show how heartless Lego is
It also shows carelessness from their part not warning LAN members ahead of time, or just put embargo dates on the packages products. Yes he should have checked his emails more, but if Lego really cared about embargo dates, then put far more contingencies into consideration.
This is exactly what I was thinking. I mean, I understand that they're trying to apply the same standards across any product, but it's not like he just leaked a major license or spoiled an upcoming film. This is a Lego original product line that is only meant to appeal to a very niche demographic of educators and the visually impaired. There's a reason that even falcon fan didn't bother posting this because it's essentially just a box of classic bricks with a twist
Hi Chris. You’re a very busy man and human. What happened was simply a rookies mistake. Your love for Lego is very clear to any one who has been watching your content. You are a great Lego ambassador. You are also a fine and dignified person. Enjoy the time you have during Legos 6 month new Lego sets embargo. Every cloud has a silver lining, even if we can’t see it straight away. We will still be here and look forward to your informative and insightful reviews on the sets, when you have them in hand.
Hey man, I know it’s gonna be hard moving forward without the support of lan, but don’t beat yourself up too much dude. You made an honest mistake and have all of our support 🙏
LEGO is really at fault for not providing any paperwork with the box sets. Mistakes happen. You're human. It's a shame you have a 6 month suspension. Your channel is amazing
I thought it was weird that after you showed it I saw it in leak videos as a potential set. I don’t know why stickers with embargo dates can’t be done or even a letter in the box with embargo’s for each set.
Aight. Lego needs to put a piece of paper in a box with an embargo date when mailing embargoed sets. It costs like 1¢, and is way easier than doing damage control.
I hope Lego sees this and would consider removing your strike. I understand why they have that system in place but like you said the braille brick sets are so unique and it sounds like the guidelines surrounding them were vague at best. Best of luck to you sir! Keep doing what you're doing!
Lego needs to put more care and caution into sets that they give out for LAN. The fact that there's nothing labeling them in the box it was shipped in is just foolish on Lego's part, correct me if I'm wrong but don't they already ship out normal orders with a slip of paper listing all the things that were ordered? (Been a year or 2 since I ordered from them so I can't quite remember if that's the case or not) What's so hard about putting a paper in the box saying when the embargo is lifted? Yes this is a mistake on your part but its also a mistake on Lego's part for not taking into account all the possible things that could happen as a result of shipping out sets to LAN members prior to release, this was a powder keg waiting to blow and you just happened to be the one to strike the match.
I think you handed the situation really well, as far as I can understand it. Mistakes happen, were human. No matter how smart we are, no matter how hard we try, were still human. I hope you can recover from this setback quick and get right back on the saddle.
Sorry to hear about the Embargo bro, that’s gonna be rough. But at least you’re handling this in a professional manner and hopefully learn to take steps to avoid making an honest mistake like this in the future
Owning up to your mistakes is the best course of action you can ever do for yourself and your channel. You were thorough about everything that's happened up to the mistake and after. Maybe this'll be a learning lesson for LEGO too in terms of logistics. Wish you all the best man, I love your content.
They could have set a short message in your parcel as they do with some mini figures I got previously mentioning the date when it can be on the shelfs to avoid this. You do a great job, don’t be too hard against yourself. Working also with NDA stuff and require to be very careful!
I watched your initial posts and really appreciated your enthusiasm for these sets! There is so much value here beyond the visually impaired community! I will be sharing these and other (non LEGO) ASL blocks with a dear young one in my life. This world is … harsh. Love to all.
I feel for ya Chris! You are such a nice guy and from talking to you on the London Bridge Bricks stream, I know you would never leak something on purpose!
It’s a hard lesson to learn, but it’s refreshing to see someone just plain admit their error and apologize. Your love of LEGO is apparent and you will get through this. Thanks for the video.
I'm so sorry to hear, I can imagine this situation doesn't really feel all that great, to say the least. I hope you recover from this shock soon and try not to worry about it too hard. After all, mistake is just a tool of improvement in life. If I hadn't made my mistakes, I don't wanna know where I would be today😅
It's an honest mistake. Your advice to always check your emails is on point. I had an issue with The Jazz Club modular. Had no information from LAN. No emails on it, no review offer, just showed up. My mistake was not asking for the details from the LAN as this had a reveal date different than the review date. Saw the reveals so posted my review. Oops! Took it down fast enough, but just like you I felt bad. Keep your head up, you have a great channel and great community. This will all be forgotten soon.
Doing alright and honestly I think everyone agrees that some kind of note should've been placed with the package up front saying "check emails as this product isn't ready for review" or something on top of sending like three emails to make sure you get that message. If anything this might be a good thing as you'll be prepared in the future and giving a heads up to other reviewers of Lego to let the know to be more weary of odd packages from them along with checking any new emails would be highly beneficial. So I hope you're doing alright and I'm sure the fans look forward to new videos. Keep moving forward!
I feel like this is on Lego for not including CLEAR and CONSISE instructions to not display any embargoed items and instruct you with the dates when safe to do so. Fail on their behalf. You are an influencer/social media account and your role is to show as much content as possible.
At least you’re taking full responsibility for it instead of blaming Lego/LAN etc. so it shows what kind of person u r. Also chill out bro, at the end of the day, no one died. This could mean all that review time you can now make different content such as travelling to different countries to look for Lego, which is way more exciting than an unboxing video where every other Lego TH-camr are already doing
Honestly, from an outsider's perspective, it seems like their fault since it should've had a sticker or some indication that it is not for video use until a certain date.
Feel your pain and knowing the love you have for LEGO this has to hurt hang in there please things will work them selves out ... fan of this channel respect you telling us this news
Chris, I would leave LAN, you don't need it and I feel its hindered a lot of your content (I don't mean that in a disrespectful way) I'm pissed that they're penalizing you for 6 months, I've seen other LAN members accidentally leak things with no consequences. LAN is a joke...
sucks that this happened to someone so passionate about Lego, seem like an easy slip to make. but it does show how due dilligence is **so** important, hope this also give a heads up to Lego that maybe having a physical paper slip in the package with the embargo info would stop this from happening in hte future. sending one email 2 months prior should be enough, but there is definitely room to make it more clear.
We love you channel and your style. Mistakes can happen and you have already learned. I will looking forward to seeing your reviews of Ninjago and Monkie Kid, no matter if in December or Jannuary!!
It is an industry standard that when you get a package from a company it includes what is known as a review guide. This contains any details about the product a company wants you to tell your audience as well as the embargos. An email isn't the way to include that. It would be like if I shipped you the set and then mailed you the information and got mad because you never saw the thing I mailed separate that probably got there at a different time than the set. If Lego didn't include the packing list with embargos in the package it isn't on you it is on them and they need to get their stuff together if the really care this much.
Lego should be more understanding and forgiving with this mistake. Any sets that should not be viewed by the public should be wrapped inside the box with the date content can be made on it. I anticipate that you will regain your status and move forward with your ambassador status. As always, I enjoy your content.
This was a very easy mistake to make, though I do understand The LEGO Group being a bit harsh. Great to hear your membership of the partners program wasn't terminated
Bad luck Chris. Love your videos and hope the Lego connection gets sorted for you soon. Will keep watching and appreciating everything you upload. Thanks
LEGO puts a street date on EVERY box that goes to their retail partner stores. How much effort would it really take to go to put a sticker or a label on the box with the embargo date for LAN members? Seems like an easy fix to me

The fact that you are very clearly taking responsibility for a complete mistake & also that you are very visibly upset should be a testament to your personality, your business-minded self, and how much being a part of LAN means to you. I am so sorry that this all happened, to you of all people. Honestly- if I think of all of the LAN members that I am aware of, you would be the last on my list of “people who leaked/didn’t care about an embargo date”- I know of LAN members that seem to disappear and are still managing to receive sets early. I truly hope that with all of your actions in taking down not only your posts but asking others to do so as well, on top of how genuinely serious you take this job, plus your “day job” & other endeavors, Lego sees who they are dealing with and maybe reconsider the length of probation- even if they don’t, I really hope they see your enthusiasm, dedication, and love for their product being an asset THEY would be truly losing, and not the other way around. Either way, I hope you are able to get back to feeling better and also not bogging yourself down with regret and instead realize that you are human & someone who has the schedule you have during which you give like 200% of your effort - mistakes happen, no one tries to make mistakes and you definitely are a ridiculously intelligent & honest person- this all sucks, but try not to let it get you down too much. Life is too short. I admire your honesty & transparency, youre a good duck, Chris! Hang in there!

I respect you a lot for this man, your humility and honesty in this situation is really impressive and I can personally say you’re the same way in real life (I was one of the Elemental guys in Chicago lmao) This situation definitely is not fun, but you handled it perfectly and this has honestly made me appreciate you more.
@@BionickpunkLAN doesn't know how to run properly
Thats not so harsh. Violating an embargo is serious. Most conpanies would just ban him permanently from the program in the least, If they didnt sued.
@@FabuBrik You clearly don't know how serious an embargo is...
Heartfelt apology, don’t beat yourself up. LAN should learn lessons from this as much as you.
It definitely seems like an honest and easy mistake. I appreciate that you were really transparent about it.
This kind of behavior does make Lego less sympathetic. I don't like this power dynamic.
I’ve heard stories about ambassadors getting kicked out of LAN. LAN people are ishhh. Just people flexing muscles for such a minor mistakes.
Do not apologize, you didn't do anything wrong. Lego should have been more precised when they sent you those boxes. You are all fine brother.
Don’t worry about it. Still love your channel. You had the best of intentions. I also wish Lego had sent some press release with the package.
I hope Lego sees this and would consider removing your strike. I understand why they have that system in place but like you said the braille brick sets are so unique and it sounds like the guidelines surrounding them were vague at best. Best of luck to you sir! Keep doing what you're doing!
At least the guy made the best apology video ever. As in it’s actually a genuine, simple apology and not doomed to be memed on.
Mistakes happen. We learn from it, and move on. Keep your head up! We still got your back!
Don’t worry about it man Lego always overreact and we’ll still be watching no matter what👍
Exactly
Don’t worry we all make mistakes, it’s one of those oversights .appreciate your total honesty
This is what a genuine apology looks like.
Right? Quality human being right here.
Don’t beat yourself up over this, honest mistake bro. We all will still continue to love and respect you and your content.
This might sound bad but the main core audience for the braille set can’t even see the box anyway I would sue Lego for 14 quadrillion dollars
LMAOOOOOOOO
You're not wrong.

They should have sent any kind of info, visual warning with the boxes. So easy to mess up
That’s okay, DuckBricks. Everybody makes mistakes at times. It happens to the best of us.
Agreed
unfortunately, i died
Honestly, from an outsider's perspective, it seems like their fault since it should've had a sticker or some indication that it is not for video use until a certain date.
Edit: I just realized this from a month ago lol
Feel your pain and knowing the love you have for LEGO this has to hurt hang in there please things will work them selves out ... fan of this channel respect you telling us this news
Part of being a decent human being is taking responsibility for mistakes. I'm impressed by your personal integrity.
Chris, I would leave LAN, you don't need it and I feel its hindered a lot of your content (I don't mean that in a disrespectful way) I'm pissed that they're penalizing you for 6 months, I've seen other LAN members accidentally leak things with no consequences. LAN is a joke...
A lot of decent people left LAN, like Mandr, Holly and Justin
@BrickTemplar They're the homies, but they all got kicked, but Justin who left, but rejoined 😂.
Just a Reminder
the best Lego Reviewer, Jang, is Outside the LAN
You don't have to put up with the bureaucracy to be successful.
sucks that this happened to someone so passionate about Lego, seem like an easy slip to make.
but it does show how due dilligence is **so** important, hope this also give a heads up to Lego that maybe having a physical paper slip in the package with the embargo info would stop this from happening in hte future.
sending one email 2 months prior should be enough, but there is definitely room to make it more clear.
At least lego isn't like wizards of the coast where they sent a private mercenary group to collect the product back.
We love you channel and your style. Mistakes can happen and you have already learned. I will looking forward to seeing your reviews of Ninjago and Monkie Kid, no matter if in December or Jannuary!!
You didn’t deserve this, Chris. This was a complete accident, don’t be so hard on yourself.
That’s messed up. LEGO didn’t give any sort of notice or anything that these sets were being sent or that they were confidential at the time?
They sent an email the prior month about the embargo date, which I missed - it was totally on me
Lego should be more understanding and forgiving with this mistake.
Thanks
Lego being mad because you accidentally leaked their most educational set ever, they should be happy to get word out they’ve made these sets, smh
Really shows how much LEGO cares about creators who dedicate almost their entire lives to the brand. 0:41
This is TOTALLY on LEGO not on DuckBricks. There should be paperwork in the box with instructions for embargo dates or any particular instructions.
LEGO puts a street date on EVERY box that goes to their retail partner stores. How much effort would it really take to go to put a sticker or a label on the box with the embargo date for LAN members? Seems like an easy fix to me
We all make mistakes. Keep up the good work. You’ll be back in action.
Sorry that your unintentional mistake has been so severely punished. Please forgive yourself and I am impressed with your honesty and sincerity. Keep looking forward and appreciate your channel
"major leak" yeah this one really rocked the lego community
Ah yes, the absolutely critical braille set, everyone has been talking about it, Lepin couldnt wait to get its hands on it as soon as possible /s
Sadden to hear that your love for LEGO got you into this situation. I enjoy what you do and I will always be here for you and the journey. Great video let’s move forward. 🦆 🤗
Its ok. We still support you no matter what. No mistake destroys one’s goodness. You are an amazing person with great videos. I wish you the best of luck with your channel
You are such a genuine man we can all tell you are. It was obviously a mistake and a miss communicating with Lego. I don’t think they should be so harsh on you and your team after all you do so much to help advertise and support them like look at your collection. I see your reviews and hard work don’t let this be a road block you don’t need the lan to do what you love you have gotten so far with out the extra hand it’s all been your hard work and passion. We are all here for you mate .
Too many people in the comments are trying to “villianize” LEGO for this.
He admitted it was his own fault, he stepped up and took the blame.
Its annoying to see everyone say LEGO is doing something wrong here
I totally agree
Very genuine apology- keep up the great work with your content you’ll be back stronger then ever with the early reviews next year & remember “the man who makes no mistakes does not usually make anything”
All the best to you going forwards!
The title to this TH-cam video should be “Lego messed up!”
100%, this dude is way too nice, I get he wants to keep his relationship with lego and the LAN bur come on....
hi DB, i'm a new subscriber (just a couple of months). i appreciate your candid honesty. though i am just a novice in LEGO, my interpretation is that this is an honest mistake that thankfully caused minimal PR damage to LEGO. as others have said, don't beat yourself up so much. you learnt your lesson, and you haven't suffered much of a loss in the large scheme of things. you will move on, and this will become a distant memory. peace out, fam ✌️
Omg, thank you so so much for the super thanks and that really means a lot. Really appreciate the support and have a wonderful day!!
/hank you for that heart felt apology. Love that you did this publicly, it really shows your integrity, as that is greatly appreciated. Love your channel!!!
Interesting how target and Walmart have had stores release merchandise ahead of schedule, yet they still carry the products.
In my opinion, Lego should have thrown you a bonus for that. They wouldnt have had so much attention that. They.screwed up not you
LAN just makes it’s members feel miserable.
I really hope they release your suspension soon. I honestly thought those sets have been revealed already. Your miatake was minor, consequences sound major. I hope the stress you're showing is very temporary
I am sorry to hear that...but to me you are always the best LEGO content creator
This mistake is completely understandable, and anyone could have done this accidentally. We appreciate your owning up to it though, and I admire you for handling the situation so well! Respect.
Ah how the worm has turned ...lol ...in 6 months you have gone from this moment, to winning Lego masters with your teammate...not to mention the growth of your channel and other projects ; ) Inspiring really. Congrats ; )
Oh Dude! So very sorry. This video will hopefully help other Lego video bloggers from making a similar mistake. Subscribed 👍
Don’t beat yourself up ! I feel it’s an honest mistake anyone would have made! If Lego was smart they would see how big of a contributor you are for the brand ! Keep your head up !
You are my favourite LEGO Ambassador and will continue to be so! No one is perfect, so please don’t be too hard on yourself. You are obviously apologetic and already have a plan to try to prevent any future issue, so all will be well! Rooting for you @DuckBricks 💫
