these runs and this channel is the reason i'm still on this earth, i'd die of boredom if you didn't exist 😂 very good job on the run (sorry i'm 5 months late)
I was watching this thinking you weren't quicksaving because it was slow, not because of the rules of the run. Incredible! never knew about the invisible chute at the end of bonewerkz
So let get me something straight. A 100% glitchless, HARDCORE run is actually FASTER than the top 100% glitched!? Or should I see the real times and not the IGT for better reference? This is utterly INCREDIBLE my dude. Truly a monster. G fucking G!
Hey, i love ur 100% runs and and they are very enjoyable to watch. I have one question. at 53:49, would it save some time, if you give the two blind mudokons the order to push the lever before u call them to come down on the elevator, instead of you going up to push the levers manually? Keep up the great work💪
Hey, I'm glad you enjoy my runs. Also you are correct, that is quicker. I made a mistake in this run and forgot to get them to pull the levers. If you watch my other runs at this point you'll see I do this :D
1:22:48 you can actually chant in that secret and the slig falls down to the pit. Idk if the slig has to be off-screen or on-screen when you do that. But works all the time. (At the beginning.)
Hardcore is doing 100% glitchless without quicksaving or quickloading. The point of speedrunning a game is to complete a game as fast as possible under whatever conditions are set for the category. It’s true that a flawless run of this category could in theory be identical to a flawless run of the same category but with quicksaving/quickloading allowed. I imagine the difference is that the runner doing hardcore knows that a death will return them to the start of the path, whereas in 100%NMG a death will return them to when they last quicksaved/start of path (which ever is most recent). So hardcore takes away this comfort blanket and puts more pressure on the speedrunner. Trust me as someone who’s speedran this game, losing the cushion of being able to quicksave add a lot more pressure and nerves. Sure the end results may be somewhat identical if theyre lucky enough to get through without dying, but the journey to the end result is where the runner is tested not just in their skill but their psyche and ability to hold their nerve.
There is a well object placed there for shooting Abe all the way up after you turn the wheel near the end of this Hub. The developers placed the well beneath the floor because they don’t want it to be enterable. However, because the game does its calculations once after each frame of animation, using the current positions of all game objects/characters etc, depending what height you begin falling from will mean that right before you hit the floor, you are neither in contact with the floor or the well object. In the very next frame after, you are in contact with both the floor AND the well object (which is placed just a little too high up (developer oversight) but is still beneath the floor) and the game will always prioritise making Abe enter a well instead of hitting the floor when the two collisions occur together rather than the other way round or else Abe would be hitting thr floor and dying instead of entering wells when falling to a well from a height.

Still to this day is drives me crazy that the stereo is reversed and I can't believe there isn't a fix for it.

@namesoom this is actually true. Howcome you don’t do it?
@Hard2TheCoreForLife Please share your thoughts on this run too.
There's difficulty in this game?
What does hardcore entail, simply dying ans staring over again?
Isn't that the premise of speedruns, to not die?
