Wizard’s willingness to play along is always fun.
For sure.
And we've definitely seen a side/angle of him we've never seen before.
It's an angle I never, ever, thought I'd see to be totally honest. 🤣🤣
I only want to work with guys with a sense of humor. Makes the day go by faster!
@@starfox_wr-45e93 And even if I should live to be 100, I won't feel I've missed out on anything if I never see it again. 😂
And appreciated, considering he's trying run a business while Hoovie goofs around in the shop. Thanks to both of them for their entertainment.
Wizard where is the motorized lazyboy chair for car inspections? A table, really disappointed in someone called "The Wizard"
Poor Wizard. Such a sweet guy. Get well soon. That Callaway is a gem!
Exactly, exactly, exactly. Exactly!
The wizard part, exactly x4. The car is ugly, drivetrain is pretty nice. Rip that out, and build it in something nice I would say..
@@djvr80Just stupid, NO respect
You can tell the Wizard doesn't feel well. He should be home taking it easy for a couple of days.
Yup. Justifiably not his normal self.
He’s literally being rolled around on a creeper, wish he’d take a rest haha
For some of us rest isn't an option.
He's self employed, this is the downside of self employment.
@@gravyd316 that's the 'Murican way!
11:26 I’d never thought I’d hear Wizard say “Anime Tentacle Pron”
A drag race between Hoovie with Camaro and
Wizard with the Viper wuold be awesome!😁👍
I also had that surgery for sleep apnea related problems. It was absolute hell. Best wishes to the mighty Wizard!
This is by far the coolest car you’ve ever owned. Reeves Callaway was a very cool dude. He knew how a car should be built, and he did it.
If Wizards surgery was anything like mine, it solved my sleep apnea but it was rough as hell in the recovery room. Felt like I had been kicked in the face by a horse. Hope he’s back to normal soon.
Sounds painful, makes me queazy thinking about it.
I don't want none of that!
@@rayjay8322when your slowing dying in your sleep that surgery is bearable
Wife got the same one didnt solve hers just the heavy ass snoring 😅
@@volvo09I had a septoplasty on Monday and they trimmed away the turbinate tissue/bone to help with breathing and they stitched splints/stents to hold my septum in place. I feel like shit. I understand partially how he feels
I had a terrible experience with a very much needed cancer removal in my sinuses behind my left eye. They told me that if they could not reach it, they would take my left half of the face off. Needless to say, the recovery was super painful, and I looked just as ugly as when I went in. Two surgeries later, they got the bugger (literally) - two very bad weeks until I could breathe properly.
how did you find out you had it hiding up there?
Wizard you take care and heal quickly and hoping you sleep well . Happy Trails
That's exactly why anyone who buys a LT1 powered vehicle should just go ahead and change EVERYTHING!!! These cars are getting old, that's exactly why I did everything when I got my 92 corvette!! I just went ahead and did it all!! Plugs and wires, new optispark, waterpump, hoses and belt!! It way better to be safe than SORRY!!!
How many miles did you have on your 92 Vette when you did all of that work?
Did the same on my 94
There's no reason not to at this point. It's a guaranteed failure point and aftermarket parts will at least save you the headache.
@RyanParsons I think it was about 160,000 but it wasn't the original stuff it had been done before at least once. But the 92 had a recall on the first few that went out they designed it wrong to begin with! They but the vent hole at the top of the optispark then they redid all and put the vent holes at the bottom.
No reason to replace 1995+ optisparks as they are the better designed vented units and don't fail as much as older optisparks
I love the bond/friendship Tyler and Wizard have. Just great!
Happened on my '92 Corvette. Had to replace the water pump for an AC/Delco one, and Summit Racing Optispark and everything was fine! Wishing Wizard a speedy recovery! I went through the same thing 🙏
Hoovie and the Car Wizard are amazing together!
You two guys are comedy gold together. I hope you never split up
I like it Tyler. People bag on the old LT1 so much but this is a testament to what they can do with a little bit of work. Heads/cam/ls computer swap and a tune and they can make around 500 crank hp all day. Plus they sound great bc they don’t have the LS firing order swap. I hope you keep the car around for a while.
Hey Tyler, you should have the wizard do a opti-spark delete because you don’t want to have that happen again. I’ve seen online where you could convert the Opti- spark to individual coil packs.
I was thinking the same thing...although originality may be a concern
That would devalue the car. On cars like this that are collector's items that have a history they have to be original stock parts with no modifications. They don't have a choice in it.
This is not needed and on this car that is so rare it would effect the value. MSD Opti Spark are way better and this year is hooked up to Vacuum from the manifold. I have done many opti sparks and never have a changed one one after installing an MSD one.
You know what? I was not thinking about that. it certainly will lose value. @@Sabrinahuskydog
My old teacher always stood by the MSD distributor and he has it on both his C4's L98 and LT1 has MSD Distributor. I just figured that it would eliminate that problem and never worry about tearing out all of those components. @@Johnnyvette383
I hope that the Wizard's recovery goes well.
7:20 Alfa Milano Verde spot! Had a black one. Fantastic transaxle and recaro interior. Such a cool looking car.
Hahah the wizard is a man of culture “anime tentacle p0rn” 😂😂😂😂😏
Keep finding these super rare cars and concept cars. I know easier said than done. But this really sets you apart from all the other car channels on youtube. The Caddy and this Camaro has refreshed my interest in this channel. I know there's a Chevy Borego concept truck floating around out there somewhere. ZR28 Camaros are pretty interesting too. The Guldstrand 50th anniversary edition C5 Corvette is comparable to this Camaro as well. Pretty much any Gmmg would be cool to see but they recently are skyrocketing in price. Just some ideas if possible. Keep it up!
My parents had a '94 Caprice wagon with the LT1 and towing package. I'd never even heard of these issues til recently. People complain about the trans too! We had that thing til 150k miles and it never had a single problem. Amazing car.
Love seeing Wiiiiizard back on the channel. I wish him a speedy recovery
I had the same surgery as Wizard a few months ago and i can concur, it was brutal. Worth it but the recovery sucks. I can't believe how chipper he was so quickly!
As a former owner of a 93 Z28 (Red with blacktop) I loved the platform. Did my Opti-Spark once and it wasn't that bad, rotor was shattered inside. The new owner still drives it hard an hasn't touch it again. I didn't now about this Callaway until your first video on it! Love the car and hope you keep it! Hope you race Wizard too! And here wishing Wizard a speedy recovery and have a great new year!! Greetings from Puerto Rico!
Get well soon Wizard, and speedy recovery from surgery. I had 15th surgery 3 weeks ago. Arthritis suck. Treat your body better than your best friend.
id love to see this LT1 get the torqhead 24x conversion! direct upgrade to the opti and is plug and play!
And will devalue this collector’s car.
@@vincedibona4687 If that's all you care about. I buy a car to DRIVE IT. And I'm going to make it reliable. Few things piss me off more than someone who only cares about what it's worth to someone else. I don't, it's MY CAR, I do what I want with my cars. Disgusting.
I love this car. The Camaro is my favorite car. I love every generation of it. I've always thought the 90's ones were underrated.
Hoovie, if you're going to keep this car for a while, you might want to look into a coil pack conversion like torqhead.
It’s a collector’s car. Your suggestion would de-value it.
@@vincedibona4687 But it'd work better
@@vincedibona4687 Clearly it isn't that collectable if he only paid a 10k premium over the cost of a base Z28, but okay.
@@vincedibona4687 Also, you can't buy an AC Delco optispark anymore. Only reman'd units. The reman'd units are built with lower quality parts inside and have a black cap instead of a yellow cap.
I bought a 94 z28 with a six speed from the credit union that had been in n accident and repoed. I replaced all the gaskets and seals and had the heads redone.i replaced the water pump and the optispark cap and rotor. I put in and the six speed in my 56 Chevy Nomad. I love it! Faster than spit.
3M to 800M is BEYOND impressive. I had no idea the two Callaways were related!
Wow, what a big block sound & performance, well done Callaway!
With respect, Wizard looks very VERY stoned
You can get a full optispark delete kit, they tend to run 2500-2800 but give you LS style coils, change out to a ATI fluidamper balancer, and give you more spark control.
And it will devalue that collector’s car instantly.
@@vincedibona4687 sometimes you have to correct things that would devalue it MORE by doing something a little less. In this case replacing the huge known flaw, is a minor change.
My mom walked in at me on 13:50
I have some explaining to do... thank you hoovie and wizard for all the wrong angles
4th gens are slept on. My second favorite model.
Best wishes to Mr. Wizard for a fast full recovery. Pretty generous to do the video while feeling raw. Tyler, you were not helping. Repeated pulls in the drive and then bumping Wizard around on the table must have been trying his patience. Why does this guy keep hurting me just to make a video?
I'd love to hear about the beautiful 80's Alfa Romeo 75/Milano in the left hand side of the frame at 7:07-7:47. I wish the Wizard a very speedy recovery from his surgery. Thanks.
If anyone should try to understand the Hoovie audience, just read this comments section - I’ll add my best wishes and regards to David post-op. Oh and the car is looking pretty good!
Elderodo is not the usual type of car I like , but the more I see of it the artistry involved in its construction is apparent . The paint and smoothness of the exterior is beautiful .
I wasn't expecting a POV episode.
Wizards neck hurts , Tyler gets in & immediately try s to give him whiplash 🤣😂🤣😂👌
Definitely excited about this one!!
Good on the Wizard for still playing along after his surgery, he is a tough cookie.
Such close friends are priceless.
Its fun to hear these guys joke. I feel bad....this surgery was really painful
Looks like someone really wanted a rwd Pontiac Sunfire! Hope wizard is ok. Kinda weird place to be cut open.
Right! And just made it uglier. I'm sorry but this car is a huge miss in the looks department. I like how he said it looked better than the last WS6s. lol
@@imrfagreed, it's ugly AF
Never in a million years would I have thought the wizard would say "anime tentacle porn"
Wizard being 100% serious while Hoovie rolls him around is amazing 🤣🤣🤣🤣
“There’s gonna be an extra hour on your bill for that, we had to break into it”
“yeah sorry about that”
“heheheh okay”
poor wizard 😭
I really like Callaway’s design philosophy, to make what’s already there, more powerful while retaining reliability.
I wish they'd retained the good looks. That nose... 🤔 I'll try to be as nice as possible - it's unfortunate.
In the late 80's, here in Carlsbad, Callaway Golf growth was out of control. They'd lease up and buy buildings then put the number on them. Callaway #1 was their HQ and I recall them getting into the teens, at least to 13 or 14. Much rivalry between them and Taylormade, also in Carlsbad.
I still have nightmares of doing the water pump and opti spark on my 97 Z28. I sold the car after doing the work and went to a LS powered car fish Camaro. Only LT1s I’ll work on now are 6th gen Camaros and 70 corvettes and Z/28s
Love this car. I had a Hammer vette for a few years, and I absolutely loved it. I was able to meet Reeves one time at a car show, and he signed the owners manual and the console lid. He was a true car guy.
Great to see the Wizard back from a successful surgery.
Wow. Interesting history. I didnt know the golf clubs were related to the automotive. Thanks Hoov. We finally got the Wiz where we want him.😂 This car is bitchin. The front end I could take or leave. Cool. Get well Wiz.👍❤️🏁😎
I just wanted to say thank you for such awesome content it’s like hanging out with your buddies and talking shit on cars. Always awesome!
Any time I see you happy it makes me happy. Your a super cool dude and I wish you every possible blessing.
Reeves Callaway was a genius. The Callaway Sledgehammer Corvette was a shocker to GM and woke their ass up!
Nicely done hoovie
I feel ya Wizard. I recently had cervical spine surgery, and I know what you mean about looking up with a slice in the neck. Hope you heal quickly buddy.
Wizard is truly a wizard ! He knows SO much !
Speedy recovery to the Car Wizard! I spy with my little eye, an Alfa Romeo Milano @ 7:27. I haven't seen one of those in nearly 30 years! I knew some people who owned them back then and they were NOTORIOUSLY expensive to repair and get parts for. Nice to see what looks like a well preserved model in the background! Thanks for the content and flashback Hoovie!
The Wizzaed couldn't call in sick without being rightfully accused of talking to himself. That is dedication only a business owner knows.
Jesus, that's a nasty way to wake up. Long live the Car Wizard!
I didn’t think anyone could make a Camaro any more fugly but I was wrong. The best looking fbody is the 2000 z28/ss version but this is definitely the ugliest version.
I loved the C8s when they were new, and I love them even more now. What a great car!
Get well soon Wizard. I gotta say you rolling around like that is GOLD.
Wishing the wizard a speedy recovery ❤️🩹
You can tell the wizard didn't quite like the thrusting given by Hoovie but Hoovie on the other hand seemed to enjoy it a bit too much.
Hope Wizard heals up quick! You should respray the brace black or color match red. The blue just looks odd when the hood is up.
I feel the Wizard's pain! Had a sinus surgery myself. Didn't have the throat thing though..
Blew my nose with straight blood. Runny, and chunky.. The vomiting blood thing sounds even worse though... Best wishes and prayers for quick healing Mr. Wizard!
I had sinus surgery and they had done some cauterising, when I woke up it smelt like a hog roast.
Like Jay Leno always says, Horsepower sells cars but torque wins races.
I'm an "oldtimer" and remember reading the articles on this and still have all of the original magazines it was featured in. It's great to see that this car has survived all these years. Todays cars have nothing the cars of that era. Everything does 0-60 under 5 seconds these days, actual driver involvement is gone these days. Keep it going.
So pull the forced induction off of the LT1, do a LS6 swap, and then reinstall the forced induction system, and gave it orofessionally re-tuned. Then keep the original engine in storage so you still have the complete numbers matching car ...
Everyone remember to 'thumbs up' Hoovie. Man he and the Wizard are close to Laurel and Hardy quality.
I`ve been there with the sinus surgeries Wizard I feel your pain they suck. I hope you get well soon. I love the car Hoovie awesome find.
I had jaw reconstructive surgery to fix an underbite.
What the Car Wizard had said about vomiting blood is what i did with my mouth wired shut. Not fun. Wasn't a lot of blood but they had this vacuum thing kinda like at the dentists office to suck out the blood and vomit out of my mouth. The nurse was about ready to cut my mouth open but i thankfully got it out. (If they cut the wires and opened my mouth then that would have meant going back into surgery which i didn't want to do again.) I think the vomit was probably just blood pooling in my stomach.
I also had a deviated septum fixed prior along with my tonsils. The tonsils hurt more than any other surgery even the jaw surgery. Waking up with a dry mouth and scabs where your tonsils should be is not fun at all and drinking water was almost like needles all over your throat. Swallowing any liquid with a dry mouth felt like needles it seems. Edit: I believe I was18-20 for the tonsils and about 20-22 for the Jaw Surgery I'm 27 now. They needed to wait until i was done growing to perform the surgery. I had braces for years. Edit 2: fixed a word.
I'd love to see Hoovie play American Truck Simulator now that the Kansas DLC is available. It goes right through the heart of Wichita
Poor Wizard, get well soon!
Get well soon Wizard
Hoovie. You should have pulled Wizzards seat belt up for him when he got in the car because I think it may have been to much for him to reach back for it.
Isn't there some sort of shield that can be placed over the optispark to protect it from waterpump leaks?
That's a hot looking car.
I had a 74 Z28 in the late 70s when I was still in Wichita. I loved it. It was a hot car.
And Hoovies plan finally came to fruition of getting The Wizard on his back.
Callaway males left a huge impact in three industries. Very cool.
You two have so much fun .. he and you deserve all the love you get
In my opinion, if you found a way to paint the Black Accent Lines around the headlight covers to the Red Body color, it would make a huge Difference!!
As an owner of multiple LT1 powered gm cars, I'd love to know which distributor the Wizard recommends when doing an optispark service. Anyone that's owned one knows that nowadays half the trouble is that no one seems to make a quality replacement.
Good video. Reminds me of the old Hoovie videos, before he started over producing them.
Hoodie I know exactly what the noise on your caddy is. It the ac pump compressor, it’s from sitting. If you take the belt off and spin pulley you’ll hear it. Good luck. Oh I want the blue cad!👍
Just get a cap and rotor kit for the opti. A lot of the replacement optis aren't as good as the factory electronics and a lot of replacements don't even work! I've got 2 C4s so I've dealt with those a few times
Optispark woes!! That takes me back!
This is one of my dream cars. I'm glad you ended up with it.
@11:30 - the whiiiizard has sooo many layers...
Super glad you are doing feeling better David❣.....An that is a very AWESOME Car.......Thanks Tyler 👍
Old F-4 II Shoe🇺🇸
damn Wizard that scary stuff knew a guy who went through all that and it didn't end well was walking to go home
The Marlboro ad on the back of the magazine is a kick back to the 90s for sure.
Replace with a vented opti, and almost all moisture issues disappearIt's the 94 and earlier models that would just fail if the water pump thought about leaking on the opti.
As an former owner of a 95 Camaro Z28, I called water pump gaskets. Nice find on the Callaway. I remember seeing it in magazines in high school.
My first fast car was a 94 z28 camaro. Heads cam intake and about 400 at the tire. I was 19 years old, and loved the t tops and racing seats harnesses and aound system in the back. I proceeded to spend about 15k doing upgrades, blew it up twice, and sold it for 5500 bucks. Reckless fantastic waste of money.
I had a very similar sinus surgery and it really sucked. Hope you feel better soon wiiizard!
Get well soon wizard!
