You felt she embraced the voice because Asha (and even lata) would first ask and understand who would be singing the song on screen and then mould her singing to suit the actress's personality...The actresses too, inclusing Helen, would be present at the recoding studio to observe how she was singing the song to pick up the cues for lips movement and how much mouth to open or not in sone cases ...

When I here asha bhosle I automatically think it’s Helen. asha voice suits Helen so well.
She is actually English-Burmese. Her parents lived in Burma. When her father died and during invasion of Burma by Japan, they walked on foot to Mumbai and the rest is history.
One of the best Cabaret dance of Hindi Movies, wonderful music, dance of Helen and above all the facial expression of silent Amitabh Bachchan.
Wow I discover that channel reacting to indian song and I'm impressed you continu so many years ! And you react many old song from my parent generation as this one.

The most magical thing abt ths song is he hasn't even touched Helen in ths song and still the song became the most sexiest song in the history of indian cinema

Your analysis is bang on- you got the sub-plot right- she is trying to delay his exit till the Police arrive- she is a bad girl but trying to get revenge for her brother’s murder by him- he doesnt know she is the sister of someone he killed….
