    Thank you so much for this video because I’m an FPV pilot first and I do not want to fly any other way however I am going to be working on construction sites, but I still want to fly fpv

    it could be fantastic if you use the caddx vista nebula pro !! smaller and better, what do you think?

    • @RussellSpurlock
      @RussellSpurlock 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you find the nebula pro to be better quality than the OG air? I always find the vista to be far inferior (picture-wise), but haven't tried the nebula
      As far as weight goes, the difference in weight and size is pretty insignificant as far as the Inspire 2 is concerned
      Maybe I can design one that uses straps or zip ties so it can hold different sizes

      @@RussellSpurlock it could be a good idea to put on the top of the I2, just because with max power 1200mW the vtx become too hot

      Probably won't be doing that. Maybe mounting a tiny fan would be good. I try to make sure I don't leave it on when not flying... It gets plenty of air while flying

    This is for the O3 unit right?

    I really want to do this to my inspire two But have always been worried about interference between the air unit and the drone

    • @RussellSpurlock
      @RussellSpurlock 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hasn't been an issue for me.
      Since the air unit transmits in the 5.8 GHz spectrum, it might be a good idea to run the inspire in the 2.4 GHz zone just to be safe.

    Great update! I just made your older version airunit holder. Will try this one also, I love that you can keep on the small safety chain.
    do you think you could make camera mount that fits on the nose of the inspire. When I use 9mm lens I get airunit camera in the shot.
    Maybe Just make airunit camera holder with "gopro screw adapter" and then you can stick "gopro adhesive helmet mount" on the nose of the inspire.

      I know a guy who has modified my camera holder design so that it goes up instead of down. I'll ask him if he minds sharing it, otherwise I'm sure I can modify this one. I'll let you know

    so how to disable the power limit mode?

  • @dopeytree
    @dopeytree 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does the gimbal underneath still work ok.. looks like might limit movement?

    • @RussellSpurlock
      @RussellSpurlock 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does. The way I have it set up nothing is in the way of or touching the main gimbal. That said, I have updated the design so that you can mount it up and out of the way if you check the other videos in this playlist. Also, as shown in that video, I recommend getting the longer 20 cm cable for the air unit which allows you to do the upward Mount like that

    Hi, vwry keen to do this on my inspire2. Been following since the first video on the topic. Question, do you frame the shot before going under the goggles? Or how do you insure the main camera is tracking / framing the shot while under the hood? Assuming you flying without camera operator of course.

    • @PossumPilot
      @PossumPilot  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, that's the trick! ;-) My kingdom for Picture In Picture in those goggles!
      If I'm operating with no operator, as I was in the Ram Truck video in this playlist, I got things locked in, then went under the goggles (using the I2's active tracking)
      It's a bit of a PITA, so I mostly use FPV with the I2 when working with an operator, which is HEAVEN.
      The trick with simply running with a fixed forward I2 lens is that it's REALLY difficult to fly smoothly enough in FPV to frame your shots well, so again, I'd say FPV is best with an operator, 2nd best in active tracking modes, and least good otherwise... in my experience. Cheers!
