So I just started playing with this and I noticed that the time code generator is about a minute and a half off from the clock on my phone. Where is it getting the time from if it's not from the phone? How would you make the app sync to the slate? For me I don't think it matters because I don't really need the correct time as long as my go pros are all at the same time, but I'm very interested in understanding how this works... Thanks!

Recently, a cool 3rd party Windows application from FutureVideo is a new version Multi-View HD Pro 2, which will read the GoPro timecode for simultaneous synchronized playback of 8 views on a single or multiple screens to preview before going to post. It also does rough-cut editing. It also imports the .LRV proxies so it's instant viewing of any video without the need to render.

I'm trying to do a multi cam video edit with 3 go pro cameras over about a 2 hour period. Apparently the time wasn't set right on the cameras so the video is not lining up. Can I use the tool mentioned in this video to get the time code synced between all the go pro clips? Is there a better way? I'm pretty new to working with video so please forgive my ignorance... Thanks!

Fascinating to see you pull that bird apart. It got me thinking, why not tap into the video out on the remote controller and display the main camera, but then there is already a HDMI out on the remote. I see that some goggles have HDMI input. Couldn't you then switch between the FPV camera and main camera using the configurable preset buttons? I'm not a goggles user, so I may have missed some crucial aspect, but wouldn't that work also?

Inspire wasn't/isn't rendering accurate timecode perfectly? A $20k drone specifically built for and sold to filmmakers? If you can get it in a DSLR, there's no reason on earth you can't build it into a drone that costs ten times as much as a pro DSLR body.

Normally you don't find The Sound of a drone to be very pleasant. But there's something about the mavic 3 that I love 😊
