Thanks for this video. I own the same car, I never had an accident but I must say that I feel safe when I'm driving.

Man this car is rigid, the B pillar didnt even move,I think it was the safest car in 2001.

i already had 2, its not only that the pillar is rigid, the suspension also dissipates a lot for energy.

I had a 2003 2.2 HDI exclusive from new. Certainly is a big car and feels pretty safe. I still have it 15 years later with 130,000 miles on the clock. Not been an easy car to live with at times, but is comfortable, roomy and the 2.2 hdi is a nice torque engine that can pick up it's skirts when you need it too. True that it is a bit slow against modern equivalents, but can still hold it's own along the motorways.

Johny Downson Yeah, definitely the best out of all the options of the time. Think my dual mass flywheel is n it's way out now sadly, so could be the deciding factor of whether I keep it or not. Don't really want to give up the comfort, space all round presence it still has on the road, but it's just not really worth spending the money. It certainly makes travelling on holiday to Cornwall easy and comfortable. Can't say that about many cars frankly, but after driving 450 miles in a day, I still felt pretty good. I'm guessing I will probably fix it like I always have, just a massive job to do as ending and gearbox have to come out and be split apart.

I own a 2003 2.2 hdi exclusive, had it from new. Not been the easiest car to live with, but it does feel safe and was quite advanced both in safety and driving aids for the year. I have seen a few of these in scrap yards after a heavy front ended and one that rolled over. Cabin area remains pretty much untouched. It is a reassuring feeling. Great on long journeys too, what it was built for.

picardenter I completely agree. I have owned a 2.2 hdi since 2002 from new and it has been superb. Nearly done 250,000 miles since then, driving up to 4000 miles per week for business all around the UK. Supreme motorway cruiser, literally eats the miles. Feels very sure footed like a cat, even in the wet at high speeds when cornering. ESP system saved my bacon at 80 mph when an oncoming vehicle suddenly crossed the central reservation. I instinctively pulled a hard left but the old girl went into action and I simply did not lose control or traction. These cars may not be everyone's cup of tea but I don't regret buying mine.

I agree, my father has owned a 2003 model, which was a nice and comfortable car until some technical issues appeared a few years ago so he got a new car. He also has a currently out of use 2001 model in a garage that I can start driving once I get my own license.

2 days ago I had an accident with this model. and really apart from some damage caused, I got out safe and the car as opposed to another is not shifted or 1 meter.

Aguanta mejor el pole test el fase 1 que el fase 2.Y el fase 2 tiene las 5 estrellas. Euroncap es una estafa.
