I’m dreaming of buying a 40ft BlueBird Flat Nose Diesel Pusher this summer. I’ve watched numerous DIY videos of bus conversions and have learned many hacks from them all! I have found out that wood chips and saw dust trumps Peat Moss every time keeping the smells at bay in a composting toilet! I’m certainly going to give those two a go in my DIY composting toilet! Also drilling 2in holes in the plywood under neat your mattress keeps mold from growing on the bottom of your mattress. That or just building narrow wood planks to keep the air flow under it. Just things I have learned in the last few months and I’m still learning! Love your bus and the build! What a marvelous find of cutting your own wood slaves for your counters!
We miss your early opening of your videos. You know when it looked like you were walking on a ball like the earth . It was and still is the most original opening we seen. Your doing great 👍.
Birthday Don. Just put a air vent mesh on the storage door. Keep the machine Extra cool. Don. (You the right handyman). Happy doo doo,s in the bus. Sweet dreams. Regards
I was hoping you would throw a bucket of water on that wood,Then you really see the beauty,So excited for you guy's,Just a show stopper this rig is gonna be !!!
Hello again guy's see you're going great guns I'll catch you up when you're on the road yer doing such a great job well done mateys . Cheers Wattie from down under nz
Installed two mini splits in our home this summer by myself I'm a pretty accomplished mechanic and an avid DIY guy. The install was straight up easy, and the wife and I are very pleased with them.
Can't wait to see how the kitchen is going to turn out in your next video. The wood you cut from the tree is going to look good and putting on the stuff that makes it shine will make it look even better. I've seen a lot of bus tours that have done that and it looks cool. I hope have a nice time staying in it for one week and having AC finally working. Your cats are so cute and I hope they have a good time too.
The bus is really taking shape now, Air con working, all electrical stuff working and solar working, That wood for your countertops is going to look fantastic, I know you have a lot to do to get the countertops ready for use but they will make a super edition,
Congratulations you guys on getting AC in the bus . You guys are going to have a beautiful kitchen counter . The wood is so nice . you guys hit so many milestones . I am so happy for you . I hope this test time in the bus can help iron out any problems you have once you move in permanently
Fantastic work. Air conditioning is an absolute must, even for a week! That wood looks beautiful, and it must be very satisfying knowing that you helped to cut it. Converting the bus is a major adventure; and once it is up and running, there will be so much world to explore.
I can not wait to see your cabinets and the countertop with that tree that you cut down it is going to be fantastic love it. You will get it all done I've been on this journey with you every cent you start it thank you so much to the both of you God-bless you be safe And have a wonderful and a very blessed rest of the week or weekend whichever you are at can not wait till your next video Love you guys
I had a cat that would wake me up in the middle of the night to play fetch. So I'd go pee and throw the little ball down the hallway and she'd bring it back!!! Just like a dog. Never trained her - she learned all on her own. The cat was a manx and was extremely smart!!!
I can’t wait to see how beautiful your wood countertops will be. You both are doing a wonderful job putting together your home on wheels. I love seeing your cats enjoying there litter box. We have two cats too!
WOW! Those countertops are going to look amazing. Can't wait to see how they turn out. Congratulations on getting AC and moving in, even if it is only temporary. Several more bytes were taken out of the elephant! 😉👏🙌🤗
So excited for you, and excited to watch. I rehabbed a 2 bedroom home w/ my brother. We spent 18 months. After demo, the milestones can come with long droughts in between. Hope this gives you a boost for some time. Great job. Look forward to the next 🎥. Wooohoooo privacy! 😃
Great update guys! Love that it’s all coming together. Those worktops look amazing and it’s so fab you cut them yourselves from a tree that came from the family garden! Love it.
The one thing I have noticed with videos on installing mini-split is that they don't show how it is hooked up to power. Do you show this somewhere? I have enjoyed watching your install and your learning progress. Good job.
Hi Sharee, the 110v runs straight back to our circuit breaker - there is no “plug” for this style of mini split. We will be adding a 30 amp quick disconnect between to minisplit outdoor unit and the breaker box soon
With my 12k and my 9k in hot weather at night I'll pull about 2000-3700 watts @ 24v. I have 3200 watts on roof and 13kwh lipo4 battery bank. I still need more battery. During hot sunny days I can break even and still maintain 90-100% battery. It's the hot hours after peak sun that drain the bank. But I can go all night. ;P
I've been wanting to ask ever since you started wiring; why haven't you invested in a pair of dedicated crimpers instead of using lineman's pliers? Easier to use, more positive results and certainly easier on finger/hand joints. I spent 8 years wiring passenger and freight elevator controllers and wouldn't have lasted a week using my pliers to crimp terminals.
beautiful wood. nice job on the mini-split hookup. With it placed in the rear, do you find it has any trouble blowing air to the front of the bus or having the front sitting area getting cool enough? thx
The mini split has two awesome setting that can help move air up front. One is the follow me button on the remote, that tells the unit to make the temp at the remote's location The other is the turbo button ! It will bring on the super high speed fan
@ 26:43..... I can't image doing that setup and tear down TWICE a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year in a 40' Bus you plan on living in. IT WILL GET OLD. PS: It would never work for me. If I'm tired I want to go to bed, not make a bed. JMO
Right, all this work just so they can drive for 7 hours, take a nap, drive another 7 hours and go to bed? Each and every day? Cool, 6 times around the world in a year!
@@RimdarRanch maybe you wouldn't if it were yours but their bedroom doubles as their work studio so a murphy-style bed is the best way for them to have the space they need. The bedding stays strapped to the mattress as the base is lifted up or down so it's not prohibitively hard or time-consuming at all really. Plus the bed can always be left down when work space isn't needed.
I'm happy I found you guys. I can't help talking about the beauty that is happening with this bus. I'm so happy for you guys. ❤🥰❤
Welcome aboard!

I really love you sharing all this baby steps with us, thank you a lot!! it is beginning to look like home!!!!
Is that cat playing FETCH!? OMGoodness! That is so cool!
Ha ha...sort of. They don't bring it back but they do make a run for it!

I want mini splits in my house but never thought you could put them in a bus conversion. They are way more efficient and oh so quiet.

that table is good for a table
Oh my god you guys have come so far
Coming along awesome! Love the counters!
Almost done with the demo of my bus. :)
If you haven't yet, put shims between those boards so air can flow between them. It will help them dry evenly.. 🙂👍👍
Congrats on another milestone! Just when I was wandering where the hell does that external unit end up ... 3:23
Awesome !!Getting there ❤️❤️

How many btus is that mini split? Will there be another one? What size?
yup putting another one in the front too
Great way to rest run without the stress
You should redo the window tint with ceramic tint, it really helps cut down on the heat coming through the windows.
BADASS
Great progress guys! Btw, Don, please continue growing your beard!
Oh you people are exasperating. Lol just when you get to the fun part then you’ll say we’ll see you next time. Aargh. Lol love ya.
Good work guys 👌💕
As always another great vid ! How many solar panels did you install by the way ?

That pioneer is nice and quiet. Why did you select this model!!!
It really is!
Is that mini split 110v or 240v? Btw, awesome build!!
What kind of oil are you using to test the compressor lines!!!
the cat thought the clothes drawer belongs to him
Don, was that Mela's right hook that scraped your nose???

Do your cats roll around in dirty litter too!!!!
good wood

on a bus there is a lot of installation for air conditioning
How is Mela feeling?
I would only have wall closed in for rooms everything else except bathroom will be open n connected
👍👍
Bonsoire un petit bonjour du frunchy francais
👍
That's not sawdust, it's Man Glitter.
Need to make share you don’t need the air compressor don’t run your brakes
Surprised you're mounting the a/c outside compressor to a non-vented area under the bus.
It is ventilated! There is a massive hole underneath. Many MCI conversions do this.

They put them in the make shift shelter
@@lrpcreations4016 yeah i saw that later. Can't wait to see them installed on what I'm sure will be beautiful cabinets!!!
